Huo Muchen's heart tightened when he heard Liu Shiyin's nightmare ramblings.

He quickly went to the bedside, sat down gently, and then held Liu Shiyin's hand tightly. His palm was warm and strong; he wanted to offer her some comfort through that warmth.

Huo Muchen looked at Liu Shiyin's furrowed brows and uneasy expression, his heart filled with heartache. He gently pulled her into his arms, letting her press close to his chest.

His heartbeat seemed to possess a magical power, gradually calming Liu Shiyin's emotions. In Huo Muchen's arms, Liu Shiyin felt an unprecedented sense of security and tranquility.

Gradually, Liu Shiyin fell into a deep sleep in Huo Muchen's arms. Her breathing became steady and deep, and her brows relaxed.

Huo Muchen looked at Liu Shiyin in his arms, his heart filled with tenderness and contentment. He gently stroked her hair and whispered:

"Don't be afraid, I'm here. No one can bully you."

Liu Shiyin spent the whole day in a deep sleep, seemingly fighting against exhaustion and illness.

At lunch and dinner time, Aunt Wang would deliver the carefully prepared food to Liu Shiyin's bedside on time.

She carefully fed Liu Shiyin bite by bite, each bite of food meticulously selected and prepared, reflecting her deep care and concern for Liu Shiyin.

After eating, Liu Shiyin's condition seemed to have improved significantly. Although she was still somewhat weak, she was no longer in the same helpless state as before.

"This is your room? How did I get here?"

"You fainted due to a fever, so I brought you here. Are you still feeling unwell?"

He reached out and touched Liu Shiyin's forehead, finding that her body temperature had returned to normal.

"Your fever has gone down, so rest a little longer. I'll stay here with you."

Huo Muchen continued.

Liu Shiyin shook her head, struggled to sit up, and threw off the blanket to get up.

"what are you doing?"

Seeing this, Huo Muchen reached out and pressed his hand on her shoulder, and said...

"I'm going downstairs to my room; it's not appropriate for me to stay in your room."

Liu Shiyin spoke calmly, her voice cold and firm.

A surge of inexplicable anger welled up within Huo Muchen. All along, his small acts of charity had been seen as immense favors by others.

Now, after taking care of her all day, she only needed to wake up and immediately wanted to leave him. This gave Huo Muchen an unprecedented sense of frustration.

But seeing how weak she was, he still couldn't bring himself to get angry with her.
