Rebirth to Save Myself

Chen Jianguo happily took Su Xia home and proudly called his mother to brag about it. Every night, unless something else was holding them up, Chen Jianguo and Chen Chunqi would always call each other. They'd chat about the fun and interesting things that happened that day, or the problems they encountered. Chen Yuan was speechless at their behavior; they were an old married couple, yet they were still so lovey-dovey.

The next day, Su Xia woke up naturally and went out of her room but didn't see Chen Jianguo. Just then, the nanny heard the noise and came over. Seeing Su Xia, she said, "You're up. Do you want breakfast?"

"Um, where's my dad?"

"The gentleman went out to run some errands and said he would be back to have lunch with you at noon."

"okay."

Su Xia sat down at the table and ate some warm white porridge with fried dough sticks and side dishes. Looking out the window, she felt incredibly comfortable. Chen Jianguo had placed a stationary bike and a treadmill by the French windows, because he had heard that Su Xia had a running habit, so he bought them so she could exercise at home.

Su Xia was overjoyed at the thought of her multi-million dollar house turning into tens of millions. This was her way of repaying the Chen family for their kindness. She didn't reveal much about the future developments, only offering some suggestions, leaving the specifics to Chen Jianguo's discretion. However, Chen Jianguo, as a businessman, possessed foresight and didn't blindly follow Su Xia's advice. He would analyze, judge, and then implement his suggestions.

Currently, Chen Jianguo has earned enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life. Since his two children are only in the first year of junior high school and it's uncertain where they will attend university, he mainly focuses on developing his career in the provincial capital. He uses any spare money to buy shops or apartments. He also bought a plot of land to build his own factory. He originally wanted to rent a factory, but Su Xia suggested that instead of the uncertainty of renting and having to move at any time, it would be better to buy his own land and build however he wanted. So, they selected a large plot of land in the suburbs.

At noon, Chen Jianguo returned and had lunch with Su Xia. After resting for a while, he took Su Xia to see the shops he had chosen. Su Xia looked at several and thought they were all good, so she recommended a few to Chen Jianguo. Chen Jianguo generously bought them all, and even said he would take Su Xia to visit the factory, ostensibly to familiarize her with the industry.

"Godfather, are you able to manage your cash flow?" Su Xia was a little worried about Chen Jianguo's move to buy five stores at once. She was afraid that he wouldn't have enough money on hand, and that it would be terrible if the factory's cash flow ran into problems.

"It's alright, I just signed a big contract today." Chen Jianguo waved his hand to indicate that there was no problem. He would stock up on more shops and houses so that even if his two children didn't want to run a factory, they could still live comfortably by collecting rent.

Chen Jianguo took Su Xia on a tour of the factory, and then took her to a scenic spot in the provincial capital. They played for two days in a row, and on the third day, he handed Su Xia over to her physics teacher, instructing the teacher to take good care of her.

Chen Wenwei, Zhou Xiaojie, and others also came, and as usual, they stayed at a hotel near the examination venue. The physics teacher specifically grabbed Su Xia and said to her, "The math competition papers are almost finished being graded. I've inquired, and your results are quite good."

"Thank you, teacher. The math competition is over now; I should focus on the physics competition."

"That's true, but I just wanted to put your mind at ease."

"Teacher, don't worry, participation is the most important thing."

"Great mindset, keep it up. Oh, by the way, you got first place again in the midterm exam, a full twenty points ahead of second place." The physics teacher gave Su Xia a thumbs up; this student really is getting better and better each time.

Her classmates who participated in the math and physics competitions all saw their midterm exam scores drop because they focused on the competitions. She, however, managed to maintain her first-place ranking and even improve—she's truly a promising talent!

"That's good, you've improved." Su Xia nodded. She was confident about her midterm grades, so she wasn't surprised. However, she was more concerned about Chen Yuan's grades, worried that reading novels might cause her to fall behind in her studies.

So at dinner, Su Xia sat down with Chen Wenwei. Chen Wenwei knew she was there to ask about Chen Yuan's grades, so he didn't waste any time and said directly, "Fifth in the grade, third in the class."

“Okay.” Su Xia understood that Chen Yuan would definitely regress because she was so engrossed in the world of novels that she couldn’t extricate herself. Sometimes she would even secretly read novels borrowed from others during class. Chen Wenwei saw all of this, but Chen Yuan wouldn’t listen to advice and insisted that she wouldn’t let novels interfere with her studies.

“She felt very guilty and asked me to tell you that she didn’t do well on the exam,” Chen Wenwei continued.

"Okay, we'll settle the score with her when we get back." Su Xia nodded to indicate that she understood, but she still needed to teach Chen Yuan a lesson. She couldn't let her off just because Chen Wenwei pleaded for her.

“I think so too, I hope she will listen to you.” Chen Wenwei also felt that Chen Yuan had regressed a lot. Before he left, he saw Chen Yuan being scolded by her mother, who almost confiscated her MP4.

The group stayed in the hotel for two days before heading to the exam hall. The physics teacher, worried that Su Xia's mindset might be affected after just finishing a math competition, didn't dare tell her his expectations, fearing it would put too much pressure on her and make her nervous. Instead, Su Xia walked up to the physics teacher and said, "Old Gao, I want to eat hot pot when we come out."

Upon hearing this, the physics teacher, already thinking about the end of the exams, quickly agreed: "Eat, eat the best."

Su Xia smiled, waved, and entered the examination room. She had a great attitude; having this experience was good enough, and whether she won or not didn't matter—participation was the most important thing.

After the exam, the physics teacher treated the students to hot pot out of his own pocket. The next day, everyone set off to go home; hopefully, they can have extra lessons later if they qualify for the national competition.

Su Xia returned home just in time for Monday, arriving at the classroom on time. The homeroom teacher didn't say anything. After morning reading, Lin Mohan appeared beside Su Xia's seat with a swift movement and exclaimed dramatically, "You're finally back, Su Xia, the great goddess!"

"Hmm, how were the midterms?"

"I ranked sixth in the grade and fifth in the class." Lin Mohan said proudly. Last time he was ninth in the grade, so he had improved a lot.

"Hmm, not bad." Su Xia nodded in praise.

"And you, were the competition questions difficult? Were you tired from participating in two competitions in a row? Are you confident that you can make it to the national competition?" Lin Mohan asked a bunch of questions directly, and then waited for Su Xia to answer with a curious look.

"The questions were alright, not tiring, but I'm not confident," Su Xia replied succinctly, glancing at the door but not seeing Chen Yuan. They'd been separated for half a month; normally, Chen Yuan would have come to find her as soon as morning reading ended. Her absence now was a sign of guilt.
