Qin's actions were abrupt, and Han spies noticed something was wrong and immediately reported it.

Sinzheng, South Korea

The King of Han was in a state of panic. Pointing at Zhang Ping, he said, "What's going on? How come there's not a single word from Qin, yet they've already sent 100,000 troops? Your eldest son is on a mission to Qin, and your younger son is living a carefree life there. Why didn't you consider the interests of Han at all?"

Chancellor Zhang Ping's brows were full of worry: "If Qin and Han go to war, how can Han resist? Why not send someone to follow the route of Lord Danyang and investigate?"

The King of Han immediately ordered, "Prime Minister, since that's the case, go in person. I need news within three days."

Zhang Ping was forced to accept the order. After court, he met with Lian Po of Zhao requesting an audience and was somewhat surprised that Lian Po had taken the Han route.

But we still treated him well: "Brother Lian Po, how many days are you planning to rest before you leave? Unfortunately, I have to leave Han today. I apologize for any inadequacy in our hospitality."

Lian Po frowned, feeling that Zhang Ping was trying to get rid of him. Just as he was about to say something, Gongzi You spoke up: "The Chancellor has been the Chancellor of Han for many years, why is he leaving so suddenly?"

Zhang Ping cupped his hands in greeting: "This matter is confidential, and I hope you will understand. It is inconvenient for Zhang Ping to say more."

Lian Po was humiliated time and again, and the meeting ended unhappily. He snorted and left the banquet. Gongzi You had no choice but to leave first.

Zhang Ping sensed something was wrong and sent someone to inquire about Gongzi You. It wasn't difficult to find out, since anyone would agree to exchanging the He Shi Bi for a hostage. So he realized, "Now Han is saved."

He hurriedly went to the palace to have a secret talk with the King of Han, and soon a force went to ambush and kill Prince You and his party.

As they were about to leave the territory of Korea, a group of masked assassins clashed with Lian Po. The assassins' attacks were ruthless, and the surrounding soldiers were no match for them, soon creating an opening.

A sword was thrust into the carriage, but the tip could not go any further. Looking up, the dignified and solemn Lian Po had actually blocked the sword tip with the scabbard.

"You little brats, get out of here at once! Lian Po of Zhao will have a go at you."

Despite being middle-aged, Lian Po was still incredibly fast. With a single, decisive strike, he knocked the sword out of the leader assassin's hand and unleashed a series of attacks, leaving the assassin covered in blood.

Lian Po, a veteran of countless battles, left no chance for his enemies to survive; his final strike severed their heads.

Under the moonlight, with the figures of fallen assassins and trusted soldiers around him, Lian Po had no time to worry about anything else. He grabbed the well-hidden Prince You and threw him onto his horse.

He rallied the remaining soldiers and fled on horseback.

A short while later, a person walked slowly in, with silver hair, a black shirt, and slightly pursed thin lips.

His long, dark eyes were unfathomable, but when he occasionally looked up, they revealed a sharp, icy chill in his pupils, exuding a domineering aura that sent shivers down one's spine.

Under such a strong aura, the air seemed to freeze. He walked casually through the scene of Lian Po's assassination attempt, as if he were taking a leisurely stroll.

"It seems someone beat us to it."

A guard's groan came from behind: "Who are you? Why did you attack and kill the Prime Minister of Zhao?"

Wei Zhuang, holding the Shark Tooth Sword, approached step by step: "Oh, there are still living people. That's good news."

A minute later, Wei Zhuang learned the direction of Lian Po's group from the dying soldier.

Upon receiving the news, the group of people behind Wei Zhuang ignored him and went to give chase.

Wei Zhuang coldly looked at this group of fools and changed direction to move forward.

The assassin in black asked the leader, "Why didn't this person come along? Could it be a trap?"

The leader gave a cold glance: "Don't say what you shouldn't say. This person's swordsmanship is superior to mine. Don't fight him head-on. Complete the mission first."

The assassin nodded and kept quiet, then sped off.

Numerous footsteps were discovered in a dense forest. Upon closer inspection, a group of people bribed by Guo Kai were found preparing to ambush them. The two groups clashed directly, resulting in numerous casualties.

Zhao State border

Only three people remained alive by Lian Po's side. Gongzi You was exhausted from traveling day and night and was barely holding on.

Lian Po was in slightly better condition, but he still couldn't hide the fatigue in his eyes: "My lord, this assassination attempt may be related to Qin and Han."

Zhao You, panting heavily, sorted through the information in his mind: "There were three or four assassination attempts on this trip, and they didn't know each other. Even with the Qin and Han families involved, how come there are so many more enemies?"

Lian Po then remembered his close friend's words and solemnly told Zhao You about the late king's last wish.

Zhao You was shocked, then smiled bitterly: "My father has harmed me. My brother is already the new king. How can he directly depose him and install a new emperor? Although Yan doesn't respect me enough, he wouldn't kill me. I guess it was his confidant Guo Kai who advised me."

Lian Po sighed: "We have already arrived in Zhao. I have some connections with Li Mu at the border. As long as you go to his camp, he will definitely do his best to protect you."

Zhao You advised, "General Lian Po, what is the meaning of this? Why don't you return to Zhao with me?"

Lian Po smiled bitterly: "My dear friend has already told me the key to this, but I don't believe the new king would treat me like this. I will swallow this bitter pill and will live in peace in a corner of the country from now on and will not go on any more expeditions."

I only ask that, in consideration of my life's service to Zhao, Prince You, you would occasionally look after my family.

When Zhao You saw Lian Po kneeling and pleading, he burst into tears: "General Lian Po has been loyal and righteous all his life. It is the state of Zhao that has failed you. I will do my best to protect your family from now on."

Lian Po smiled, handed his token to Zhao You, and told the three of them to take the young master away while he cut off the enemies behind them.

Zhao You gripped the tiger tally tightly, his eyes reddening, and quickly turned to find Li Mu to join him.

Lian Po waited for a quarter of an hour before a young man appeared.

Lian Po stared at the man in front of him, searching through his documents: "Who are you, and why did you kill my prince of Zhao?"

Wei Zhuang appeared, arrogant and unmasked: "This has nothing to do with the Prime Minister. You'd better leave as soon as possible to save your life."

Lian Po gripped his sword tightly, his muscles tense, the tip of the sword pointing at Wei Zhuang, moving with his movements.

The man did not attack; he simply walked away.

Lian Po was furious: "I am here, yet you ignore me!" He moved with his sword, slashing towards the man's right heart.

Without even turning his body, Wei Zhuang wedged the sword into the Shark Tooth Sword. The sword twisted, and Lian Po almost lost his grip on it, the blade nearly slipping out of his hand.

Wei Zhuang did not stop and continued to move forward. Lian Po knew that he was in very poor condition. He had been traveling all night and his strength was already exhausted. If he were in his prime, he could have held off for a while, but thinking of Gongzi You, he continued to adjust his breathing and attack forward.

Wei Zhuang, impatient, locked his gaze on the sword and pierced Lian Po's right arm with a single strike. The hilt struck Lian Po on the back of the neck, and he immediately lost consciousness.

Looking at the direction, Wei Zhuang knew he couldn't be so slow. Reaching Zhao would definitely cause some trouble. He started using his Qi to leap rapidly through the mountains and forests, and caught up with Gongzi You and his group in less than the time it takes for an incense stick to burn.

With a flash of sword light, a life was taken; after three flashes, only Prince You remained in the center.

Wei Zhuang appeared, and Gongzi You smiled bitterly, knowing that he had no chance: "Hahahaha, this heaven is really interesting. Zhao You didn't live a life of clarity, and his death was absurd."

After speaking, he committed suicide by cutting his own throat.
