High-class maid

Chapter 4: New Job!

"By the way, Mother, did anyone pass on a message to you yesterday? Xiyun said she would pass it on for me, did you receive it?" Shen Xing'er asked.

"No, I didn't receive any messages from anyone yesterday. What's wrong? I've told you many times, Xiyun is a bad person, you should stay away from her," Wang Shi said.

“I understand, Mother. I was foolish before. She was the first person I met when I entered the manor, so I always felt that she was different from others. But I never expected that she would always sow discord.”

Then, Shen Xing'er told Wang Shi about all the things Xi Yun had done to her recently.

Their conversation was overheard by Xiyun outside the door, and she withdrew her foot that was about to enter the house.

She couldn't understand how Shen Xing'er had become so clever after fainting. Had she been playing dumb all along? It seemed she had realized her jealousy? Xi Yun was puzzled.

After hearing Xiyun's account, Wang Shi inside the room showed no surprise, as if she was certain that Xiyun would do these things.

"Xing'er, tomorrow I'll go to Danxue and ask her to find you a different job."

"Mother, I don't want to trouble you. I'll just ignore her," Shen Xing'er said, adhering to the principle of avoiding trouble.

"That won't do. You never know when someone like that will go crazy. Listen to your mother."

Just kidding, her daughter had finally agreed to talk to her, and had finally changed her ways, so how could Wang Shi bear to leave any potential problems for her daughter?

Then Wang said, "Chunsun, who works in the tea room in the small kitchen, was released at the age of 25. Now only Shantao is left. Why don't you go to the tea room?"

Shen Xing'er thought about it for a moment and decided that going to the tea room would be fine. If she wasn't afraid of troubling her mother, she wouldn't want to stay with Xiyun anymore.

Xiyun in the book was always dishonest. She had an affair with the second master of the mansion, offended the second mistress, and was kicked out and sold to a brothel.

Although it happened several years later, being with someone who wasn't clean could taint you with just a word from her, so Shen Xing'er thought about it and agreed.

"Mother, how did you know that the old lady's sister in the tea room went out of the manor? Won't the old lady be unhappy if she finds out you're so interested in what's happening in her courtyard?" Shen Xing'er asked.

"Silly child, how could that be? Your mother wouldn't dare to pry into what's going on in the old lady's courtyard. It's just that your father is in charge of the list of maids leaving the manor this time, so that's how your mother found out."

"I'll talk to Danxue and ask her to change your position. I think she'll give me some face," Wang said.

"Is this what it feels like to have someone backing you up?" Shen Xing'er said coquettishly, hugging Wang Shi's neck.

"Mother, you are so good to me. Your daughter will definitely behave herself, do her job well, and not let you down!"

Xiyun, who was outside the door, listened to the conversation between the mother and daughter inside the room, and her hands clenched into fists out of jealousy.

Why? Why can Shen Xing'er so easily win her parents' favor? Why does her mother only scold her as a good-for-nothing and only ask her for money? Why is God so unfair to her?

After the mother and daughter finished speaking, Madam Wang was about to return to the First Madam's courtyard. Although she could come out, it was not advisable for her to stay out for too long.

The next day, Wang brought a box of pastries to the old lady's courtyard to find Danxue and explained the situation. Danxue agreed without hesitation.

That evening, Wang sent a message through someone, telling her that she could be moved to the tea room next month, and to be patient for the next few days and not fall into Xiyun's trap.
