Chapter Thirty-Six: Killing the Talk

“Perhaps,” Leng Yuling said, “no one wants to spend their whole life in this magnificent but lifeless palace, including yourself.”

Leng Yuling wasn't sure, but she always felt that no one is immune to the yearning for freedom, especially those in high positions of power who are even more eager to experience the mountains, rivers, and freedom itself.

"Don't think you know me well," Mo Zhen said simply, then turned and left.

Leng Yuling watched his retreating figure and couldn't help but sigh. Perhaps she was capable of understanding the difficulties of someone in a high position of power, but she simply couldn't care less.

"Your Majesty, the Emperor finally came, why did you make him leave again?" After Mo Zhen left, Zi Yan came in and said with a look of disappointment.

Leng Yuling looked bewildered: "What do you mean I made him leave? He has legs, he can leave whenever he wants, what's so strange about that?"

After saying that, she lowered her head again to continue reading her medical book, not wanting to think about what she had just said to Mo Zhen. That was all she could say; she didn't know what Mo Zhen was thinking, and besides, she wasn't in a hurry to leave.

Ma Zhiyun's illness seems to be more than just a simple one. She has read so many medical books, but she still hasn't found any clues. Is there really only one way?

Leng Yuling narrowed her eyes as she looked at the medical book.

"What should I do?" she sighed deeply.

Leng Yuling invited Mo Xuan to the Imperial Garden, ostensibly for tea and flower viewing. The early summer weather was quite pleasant, making it a fitting occasion.

Based on Mo Xuan's understanding of Leng Yuling, he didn't think Leng Yuling would invite him to drink tea, admire flowers, or enjoy the scenery for no reason.

After taking a small sip of tea, Mo Xuan cut to the chase and asked, "Just tell me, you didn't call me here just for tea, did you?"

"As expected of the exceptionally intelligent Fifth Prince of Southern Chu, amazing, amazing, amazing." Leng Yuling gave Mo Xuan a thumbs up, praising him.

Mo Xuan waved his hand, slightly impatiently saying, "Don't give me that. If you're not going to talk, I'm leaving."

Actually, Mo Xuan did hesitate when he came here, but curiosity outweighed his hesitation, so he came. He wanted to see what tricks Leng Yuling was up to this time.

"I'll talk, I'll talk." When she needed something from someone, Leng Yuling's attitude was naturally more humble. She suppressed all her temper, but in her heart, she was thinking about how she would deal with Mo Xuan after this matter was settled.

Mo Xuan raised an eyebrow, and Leng Yuling gritted her teeth and said, "What I want to ask is, how is the Northern Desert Kingdom doing now, and how is the Prime Minister's residence?"

"You care about the Prime Minister's residence?" Mo Xuan looked at Leng Yuling and asked incredulously.

Leng Yuling was embarrassed.

She didn't care about the Prime Minister's residence, but this was where the conversation had to start, and Mo Xuan had clearly killed the conversation with Tian'er.

"How can you say he's not my biological father? Even if he didn't raise me, he at least gave me life, right?" Seeing that Mo Xuan still looked convinced, she continued, "Alright, more than the Prime Minister's mansion, I'd like to know how my master is doing now."

The original owner was sent to the countryside at the age of eight and almost died. If her master hadn't appeared in time to beg her, Leng Yuling might not have existed in this world.

It was from that time that her master began to teach her to recognize medicine and herbs. What Leng Pingchu did not know was that Leng Yuling was able to live until now not because she was lucky, but because she was rescued by the Medical Saint and kept by his side.

The original owner had always regarded her master as a father, so it was only natural for her to worry about her master now.
