Chapter Eleven: A Hotel Open 24 Hours

After leaving the palace, Leng Yuling felt that the air was fresher and her breathing became much easier.

"It feels so good to be free!" Leng Yuling opened her arms to welcome the wind. She rarely felt this way anymore, and even felt like she had been reborn.

It was already past midnight, and there wasn't a single pedestrian on the street, not even a night watchman. Fortunately, the moonlight was bright enough, and fortunately, she was brave enough.

Following this road, she found an inn. Although the door was closed, the lights were on inside.

"So there were hotels open 24 hours in ancient times too." After muttering to herself, Leng Yuling knocked on the door of the inn. A young man opened the door, and he was full of doubt when he saw a young lady like Leng Yuling coming to stay at the inn so late at night.

“I had a fight with my family and ran away in the middle of the night. I’m not a bad person, and it’s not like I don’t have money to give you. You don’t need to worry or doubt me.” With that, Leng Yuling put the silver she found on Ziyan on the counter, and only then did the waiter lead her to her room.

"This is the last room. Take it or leave it." With that, he closed the door and left.

Leng Yuling couldn't help but laugh as she watched his departing figure. Were all the waiters in this era so arrogant? He acted as if she hadn't paid him.

However, she really didn't have any extra time to worry about these issues. She had walked around the palace twice, and now it was almost dawn. She needed to go to sleep quickly for a few hours, because she would have to figure out how to get out of the city tomorrow.

Actually, she hadn't thought things through enough. She shouldn't have stayed at a hotel; she should have left the city overnight to avoid any unforeseen complications. But she was so tired that she chose to stay at a hotel.

Leng Yuling, who was used to sleeping in late, slept until almost noon the next day. If it weren't for the noise coming from outside, she probably would still be asleep.

Leng Yuling rolled over and mumbled, "Ziyan, what's going on outside? Why is it so noisy?"

After waiting for a long time without receiving a reply, she reluctantly opened her eyes. She found that the surrounding environment was completely unfamiliar. Only then did she realize that she was not in the palace, but outside of it!

Leng Yuling sat up abruptly, rubbed her eyes, and after confirming that she wasn't dreaming, she smiled.

"I'm really leaving!"

She tidied herself up, took the silver, and went downstairs.

"Miss, you're awake. Would you like something to eat?" The sharp-eyed proprietress saw Leng Yuling coming downstairs and hurried over to ask her.

Leng Yuling glanced at the obsequious proprietress, patted her slightly empty stomach, and nodded: "Just some light dishes, please."

The sky is big and the earth is big, and eating is the biggest thing.

I heard that the empress is that goddess physician, the future empress of Northern Desert. You know what this is all about... sigh..."

Leng Yuling was surprised to hear this; it seemed to have something to do with her.
