Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 97: Innocence Proved, Justice Revealed

I reached out and slowly approached the pangolin's body. It trembled even more violently, its eyes filled with terror. I gently stroked its scales, sensing the chaotic energy within its body. A faint, almost imperceptible chill emanated from it, making me feel uneasy. This energy…where have I felt it before? I closed my eyes, concentrated, and tried to recall this familiar feeling.

Suddenly, a scene flashed through my mind: Before the exam began, Liu, the examinee, was secretly muttering incantations to his tamed beast—a ghost-faced spider—and seemed to be holding something in his hand.

I didn't pay attention at the time, but now that I think about it, that aura is so similar to the aura on the pangolin now! I suddenly opened my eyes and looked at Liu, the examinee.

He stood in the crowd, a barely perceptible, cold smile playing on his lips. My heart sank. It seemed my guess was right; he was behind all of this!

"I know what's going on."

I spoke in a deep voice, loud enough for everyone present to hear. All eyes turned to me, awaiting my explanation.

I took a deep breath, pointed at the pangolin belonging to Ma Shengsheng, and said, "Its abnormality is not due to poisoning, but rather that it is being controlled by a special kind of magic!"

"What spell?"

"I'm here," Han, the examiner, asked with a frown, his sharp gaze sweeping across the room.

"It is a control spell that can disrupt the mind of a beast and cause it to lose control."

I paused, then turned my gaze to Liu, the examinee, "Moreover, this spell is very similar to the spell Liu used!"

My words caused an uproar. All eyes turned to Liu, the examinee, their eyes filled with shock and disbelief.

Liu's face turned deathly pale instantly. He pointed at me and shouted, "You're talking nonsense! I never used any control spells! You're slandering me!"

I sneered, walked over to Ma Shengsheng's pangolin, pointed to several barely noticeable dark purple marks on its body, and said, "These marks are the evidence! This kind of magic leaves special marks, and these marks are exactly the same as the magical marks left on Liu Shengsheng's beast!"

I turned to examiner Han and said in a deep voice, "Examiner Han, I believe you can definitely distinguish the authenticity of these traces."

The examiner, Han, walked over to the pangolin and carefully examined the dark purple marks. His expression grew increasingly serious, and a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.

After a long while, he raised his head, looked at Liu, and asked in a deep voice, "Liu, is there anything else you want to say?"

The examinee, Liu, was pale and his lips trembled, but he couldn't utter a single word. I was secretly delighted; I knew I had won.

At this moment, Su Yao, who had been standing on the sidelines watching the game, walked over, patted me on the shoulder, and said with a smile, "Well done!"

I smiled at her, then looked at Examiner Han, awaiting his final decision.

As examiner Han took a deep breath, about to speak, suddenly... a cry of surprise came from the crowd: "Master Sun is here!"

As the examiner took a deep breath, about to announce the results, a commotion suddenly erupted in the crowd.

"Master Sun has arrived!"

Someone shouted, and everyone's attention was drawn to it.

An elderly man with white hair and a youthful face walked slowly in, surrounded by a crowd. He was none other than Master Sun, the grandmaster of the beast taming world.

This sudden turn of events was like a lifeline for Liu, and he immediately shouted, "Master Sun! You've come at the perfect time! This kid is slandering me, saying that I used evil magic to control Ma's beast. You must help me!"

He burst into tears, as if he had suffered a tremendous injustice.

Master Sun ignored Liu, and walked straight up to me. His deep eyes seemed to see right through me. He looked me up and down and slowly said, "You are Nong Yu?"

I nodded and replied respectfully, "This junior is indeed Nong Yu."

"I heard you discovered the unusual behavior of Ma Candidate's beast taming and identified Liu Candidate as the culprit?"

Master Sun's voice was calm, yet carried an undeniable air of authority.

"Yes, Master Sun."

I reaffirmed my statement and described in detail the marks I observed on the pangolin and Liu's suspicious behavior.

After listening to my explanation, Master Sun did not immediately express his opinion, but instead walked over to the pangolin and began to observe it carefully.

He reached out and gently stroked the pangolin's scales, a powerful surge of spiritual energy emanating from his body.

I noticed that under Master Sun's spiritual power probing, the dark purple marks on the pangolin's body became more obvious, and even faintly exuded a chilling aura.

Master Sun withdrew his hand, his brows furrowed, and turned to look at Examinee Liu: "Examinee Liu, do you have anything else to say?"

Liu, the examinee, was deathly pale, but he still tried to remain calm: "Master Sun, I'm innocent! I didn't do anything like that! This kid must be trying to frame me!"

Su Yao, standing outside the arena, looked at me anxiously. She clenched her fists tightly, her eyes filled with worry, but she still firmly believed that I would not do such a thing. Her gaze was full of trust, as if telling me that no matter what happened, she would stand by my side.

Seeing this, the examiner Han said in a deep voice, "This matter is of great importance and must be thoroughly investigated! The assessment is suspended now, and everyone awaits the investigation results!"

A buzz of discussion arose among the crowd. Some believed me, others doubted me, and many more watched, waiting for the truth to surface. Seeing the exam paused, a barely perceptible smug look crossed Liu's face. He thought he had escaped unscathed, unaware that this was merely the calm before the storm. I took a deep breath. Although I lacked direct evidence, I would not give up. I was determined to expose Liu's true colors! I walked to Su Yao's side. She took my hand and gave me an encouraging look. Looking at her, I felt a surge of strength.

“Wait a minute,” Master Sun suddenly spoke, his gaze falling on Liu’s tamed beast—the ghost-faced spider. “I need to take this ghost-faced spider back for a thorough examination.”

Liu's expression changed, and he subconsciously wanted to stop him, but faced with Master Sun's imposing presence, he ultimately dared not speak... His lips trembled slightly, and a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.
