Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 378 The Path to Breaking Through Barriers

Chapter 378 The Path to Breaking Through Barriers

Chapter 378

"No..." I growled, reaching out to steady the violently trembling metal vessel. The potion churned even more violently, as if trying to break free of the container's restraints. After being knocked back, Su Yao quickly adjusted her stance and faced the beast tamer of the metal ox once more. Her eyes were resolute, without a trace of fear, but the blood at the corner of her mouth made my heart clench.

I can't be distracted! I took a deep breath, banishing all distractions, and focused my attention back on the metal-clad boy. His breathing became more even, and his complexion improved slightly, but the energy fluctuations within his body remained violent, like a volcano about to erupt.

The attacks from the metal-plated beast tamers grew increasingly fierce, and Su Yao struggled to cope. I had to finish the experiment as soon as possible so I could help her.

I gritted my teeth and activated my beast-taming ability. A strange energy surged from my body, flowing down my arm into the metal vessel, and then slowly into the body of the metal-clad youth. This energy was gentle and stable, like a trickle, gradually calming the violent energy fluctuations within him.

At the same time, I also diverted a sliver of my mental energy to control another beast, a small but extremely fast flying bird, which flew towards the beast tamer. This bird was my secret weapon; it possessed a special ability to disrupt the enemy's senses for a brief period.

Birds circled around the metal-plated beast tamer, emitting sharp cries to distract it. The beast tamer was indeed drawn in, its attack rhythm disrupted, giving Su Yao a chance to catch her breath.

I took the opportunity to increase my energy output, and the boy's condition improved more significantly. His furrowed brows relaxed, and his breathing became more even.

"Hold on!" I encouraged him in a low voice, while keeping a close eye on Su Yao's battle.

Although Su Yao was powerful, she was still somewhat overwhelmed by the ferocious beast tamer. Several more wounds appeared on her body, and her clothes were torn, revealing her fair skin.

I was extremely anxious, but I dared not be distracted. The metal-rich boy's condition had just stabilized, and if I cut off the energy supply, he would likely fall into a berserk state again.

Just then, I sensed a powerful energy fluctuation emanating from the Metal Erbium Beast Tamer. It seemed poised to launch an even more powerful attack. My heart sank; I knew Su Yao would likely be unable to withstand it.

I must end the experiment as soon as possible! I injected the last bit of energy into the metal-rich boy's body, and then abruptly withdrew my hands.

“Alright!” I said to the boy with the metal ring, my voice trembling slightly.

The boy with the metal ring slowly opened his eyes, his gaze filled with confusion. He looked at me, then at his surroundings, seemingly not yet fully awake.

"How are you feeling?" I asked with concern.

He hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and said, "I...I think I'm fine now."

I breathed a sigh of relief and was about to get up to help Su Yao when I heard a piercing sound...

"Wait! Are you sure he's really alright? What if he goes berserk again?" The sharp voice came from the strategist, his face full of doubt, even a hint of schadenfreude. I turned sharply to glare at him, but he avoided my gaze, turning to the surrounding beast tamers and continuing to fan the flames: "Everyone, think about it, is this unproven method really safe? How can we risk our lives!"

His words were like a pebble thrown into a calm lake, creating ripples. The once quiet beast tamers began to whisper and discuss amongst themselves. Some of the hopeful glances I had initially received gradually turned to doubt and unease. Opposition surged like a tide, overwhelming my reason.

"Yes, what if another mutation occurs?"

"We can't take the risk!"

"The safety of this method must be proven first!"

I felt a wave of powerlessness wash over me, as if I were being battered by a giant wave, almost suffocating. Just as I was about to collapse, a warm body pressed tightly against my back, and a faint fragrance wafted into my nostrils. Su Yao was holding me tightly, her chest pressed against my back, and I could feel her rapid heartbeat.

“You are the best,” she whispered in my ear, her voice gentle yet firm. “Don’t let them influence you.”

Her embrace and words were like a warm current flowing through my heart, dispelling the gloom within. I took a deep breath, my fighting spirit rekindled. I cannot give up; I must persevere! For Su Yao, for all the suffering beast tamers, I must find a solution!

I turned abruptly to face the noisy crowd and said loudly, "I know you're scared, and I'm scared too! But we can't let fear stop us! The boy with the metal fragments has stabilized, which proves my method is effective! We need more time and opportunities to refine it!"

My voice, though not loud, was powerful and intimidating to everyone present. The noise gradually subsided, and people's eyes returned to me, filled with doubt, expectation, and fear.

I pointed to the beast tamer who was still locked in combat with Su Yao and said, "He's still suffering! We can't waste any more time! I need more volunteers to help me complete the experiment!"

My words caused another stir. Some hesitated, some shrank back, but there were also some whose eyes shone with determination.

A young beast tamer stepped forward, walked up to me, and said firmly, "I'm willing!"

Following that, several more beast tamers stepped forward, all expressing their willingness to participate in the experiment.

Looking at these brave beast tamers, my heart was filled with gratitude and hope. I knew I was not alone; there were many others like me, yearning to find a way to resolve the anomaly.

"Yes!" I shouted, "We will succeed!"

I turned to look at the strategist, whose face was ashen, his eyes filled with anger and resentment. I knew he wouldn't let this go.

“I need to expand the scope of the experiment…” I looked at the beast tamers who were willing to try, then at the strategist with the gloomy face, and stopped halfway through my sentence. My gaze swept over everyone, finally landing on the strategist, “What do you need?”
