Chapter 363 Exploring the Power of Awakening
Chapter 363 Exploring the Power of Awakening
Chapter 363
The force came suddenly and went quickly, receding like the tide, leaving only a slight tingling sensation. I was panting heavily when the strategist had already taken the opportunity to escape and disappeared into the thick fog. Su Yao came to my side and supported me: "Nong Yu, are you alright? Just now you..."
I shook my head to indicate that I was alright, but my mind was filled with doubt. What exactly was that force just now? And what was its connection to that ancient ruin in the distance? I looked in the direction of the ruin; there seemed to be an invisible force drawing me in.
"Xiaoxue, let's go!" I mounted the wolf and sped off towards the ruins. Su Yao also summoned her mount, a majestic, snow-white eagle, which followed closely behind me.
Ancient ruins stand on a desolate plain, like a silent giant guarding ancient secrets. Strange runes are carved into the mottled stone walls, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.
I approached the ruins, reaching out to touch the cold stone walls, feeling the marks of time flowing upon them. I didn't recognize a single one of the runes, yet I could sense the powerful energy they contained. The mysterious power within me seemed to tremble slightly at that moment, creating a peculiar resonance with these runes.
I closed my eyes, trying to feel this resonance, hoping to find some clues. But apart from an increasingly intense attraction, I felt nothing. I felt powerless. Could the secret of this power be hidden within this ruin, and I had no way of knowing where to begin?
"Don't worry, Nong Yu," Su Yao's voice rang in my ears. "I believe you will find the answer." Her hand gently rested on my shoulder, and a warm feeling spread throughout my body.
Just then, an aged voice came from behind: "Young man, what are you looking for?"
I turned around and saw an elderly man in a gray robe standing not far away, looking at me kindly. His hair and beard were all white, but he was in good spirits, and his deep eyes seemed to hold endless wisdom.
"Palladium Mentor!" Su Yao bowed respectfully.
Palladium Master? A thought struck me. Could this old man be the legendary Beast Taming Master, Palladium Master? It is said that he has in-depth research on ancient ruins and mysterious powers. Perhaps he can help me unravel the doubts in my heart.
“Young man, I see an unusual power within you.” The Palladium Instructor’s gaze fell upon me, as if he could see through everything about me. “This power has some connection with this ruin.”
Hearing his words, a glimmer of hope ignited in my heart. "Mentor, do you know the origin of this power? How can I control it?"
The Palladium Mentor smiled slightly: "I'm not entirely sure about the origin of this power, but I know it's very strong and dangerous. To control it, you need to explore and comprehend it step by step." He paused, then continued, "I can give you some initial guidance, but ultimately, you have to walk the path yourself."
I nodded, my heart filled with gratitude. With Professor Palladium's guidance, I was confident I would be able to unravel this mystery.
Just as I was about to ask a question, I suddenly sensed something unusual. I abruptly turned my head to look at the entrance of the ruins… A figure flashed past, hiding behind a broken stone pillar. I narrowed my eyes, my mind racing. That figure, though only fleeting, had conveyed a sense of hostility. Could it be one of Brother Strategist's accomplices?
“Someone’s there!” I said in a low voice, while gripping the dagger in my hand tighter.
Su Yao also noticed something amiss and immediately summoned her snow-white eagle, cautiously scanning her surroundings. "Who's lurking around there like that?" she shouted sharply.
The figure hesitated for a moment, then finally stepped out from behind the stone pillar. It was a middle-aged man dressed in black, with a slightly embarrassed smile on his face. "Hehe, I was just curious and wanted to see what the fuss was about," he explained.
I recognized him; he was a rhodium-rich beast tamer, a mid-level beast tamer with considerable strength who always liked to gather information.
"Rhodium Beast Tamer, what are you doing here?" Su Yao's tone was icy, clearly displeased with his behavior.
“Miss Su Yao, don’t misunderstand, I just…” The Rhodium Beast Tamer wanted to explain, but Su Yao interrupted him.
"This is not a place for you. Leave now!" Su Yao's tone left no room for argument.
The rhodium-clad beast tamer looked rather grim, but intimidated by Su Yao's imposing presence, he ultimately left dejectedly.
"He seems quite interested in your power," Su Yao said thoughtfully, looking in the direction the rhodium-rich beast tamer had left.
I nodded, realizing it too. It seems this mysterious power within me has already attracted the attention of quite a few people.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Su Yao gently held my hand, her eyes tender yet firm, filling my heart with warmth. This warmth dispelled my unease and restored my confidence.
The palladium instructor watched all this, a meaningful glint in his eyes. "Young man, your power is special, but also dangerous, attracting some ill-intentioned people. Be careful." His tone was serious and grave.
“I will, Professor,” I replied solemnly.
“Now, let’s talk about the power within you.” Instructor Jinba led Su Yao and me to a secret chamber deep within the ruins. The walls of the chamber were covered with complex runes, similar to those on the outer walls of the ruins, but more intricate and mysterious.
“These runes were used by ancient beast tamers to record and study mystical powers,” the mentor explained, pointing to the runes on the wall. “You can try to feel them; perhaps you can find some inspiration from them.”
Following my mentor's instructions, I placed my hands on the wall, closed my eyes, and concentrated on sensing the runes. A strange energy flowed from the runes, entered my body, and resonated with the mysterious power within me.
I felt the power within me surging, as if it were about to burst forth. I struggled to control this power and prevent it from getting out of control.
My mentor, Palladium, observed me closely, offering guidance from time to time. With his help, I gradually gained a preliminary understanding of this power. It seemed to be a very ancient and powerful force, closely related to the forces of nature.
However, this force remains elusive, and I feel as if I'm groping in a fog, unsure how to truly grasp it.
"Alright, that's enough for today," said the gold-palladium instructor. "You need time to digest and absorb this information."
I nodded, opened my eyes, feeling somewhat tired, but mostly excited. I had finally taken the first step in exploring this mysterious power.
I took a deep breath and looked into the depths of the secret chamber, where there seemed to be another tightly closed stone door... "Mentor, what's behind that door?"
