Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 361 Unveiling the Conspiracy

Chapter 361 Unveiling the Conspiracy

“This symbol…” I pointed to a symbol on the stone slab that resembled a crescent moon but had several strange engravings, and my heart began to race. “I feel like I’ve seen it somewhere before.” Su Yao leaned closer, her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed as she carefully examined the symbol, her face equally blank. “I’ve never seen such a symbol before either. It doesn’t look like any kind of writing or totem that we know.”

I repeatedly stroked the cold stone slab, fragmented images flashing through my mind. A burst of fire, a roaring crowd, and… a blurry figure, seemingly… also inscribing similar symbols. “Wait!” I suddenly looked up, my thoughts flashing like lightning across the night sky, “I remember! I’ve seen similar symbols in the dwelling of the Beastmasters of Jinlun!”

At the time, I was imprisoned by the Beast Tamer Jinlun. Taking advantage of his inattention, I secretly observed his study. In the corner were some ancient scrolls piled up, and on one of the half-covered scrolls, it seemed… to be this symbol! Could it be… that the Beast Tamer Jinlun is connected to the information tampering incident? But… that doesn't make sense. The Beast Tamer Jinlun is an upright man, enjoying a high reputation in the beast taming world. Why would he do such a thing?

"What are you thinking about?" Su Yao's voice pulled me back to reality. I told her about my discovery, and Su Yao also fell into deep thought. "Indeed... this doesn't make sense. The Beast Tamer of Jinlun has no reason to do this."

I looked at the symbols on the stone slab again, a sudden, intense unease rising within me. What if…it wasn't the Beastmaster of Jinlun who did it? What if…someone deliberately framed him? My gaze swept over the other symbols on the slab, and suddenly, I noticed a detail. The way these symbols…were arranged…it seemed…

"Strategist Brother Jin!" I blurted out. The arrangement of these symbols was exactly the same as the coded messages Brother Jin usually used! Although Brother Jin didn't have the ability to control beasts, he was proficient in various esoteric arts, especially intelligence gathering and code transmission. Could it be... that the real tamperer... was Brother Jin?!

The thought exploded in my mind like a thunderbolt, and everything that had been unclear before suddenly became clear! The strategist, Brother Jin, had always been by Brother Jin's side; he had ample opportunity to access intelligence and the ability to tamper with it undetected. And the fact that he deliberately left behind clues pointing to Brother Jin was to frame him!

I immediately shared my deduction with Su Yao, who was equally shocked. "If that's true... then the Beast Tamer of Jinlun has been wronged!"

“We must inform Envoy Mo of this news as soon as possible!” I said.

Just then, hurried footsteps sounded at the entrance of the stone chamber. "Oh no!" Su Yao exclaimed softly, "Someone's coming!"

The stone door slowly opened, and a dark figure appeared in the doorway. "You...you actually found out..." The figure's voice was hoarse and chilling; it was none other than...Brother Jin's strategist! He...had actually come in person!

"It really was you!" I pointed at Brother Jin's strategist, my anger blazing. "Why did you frame Beastmaster Jin Lun?!"

Brother Jin, the strategist, smiled sinisterly: "The victor is king, the loser is villain. It's too late to say anything now. Since you've discovered my secret, then I'll just have to... shut you up forever!" He clapped his hands, and more than a dozen men in black emerged from the entrance of the stone chamber, each exuding a powerful aura, clearly experts. My heart sank; Brother Jin, the strategist, had indeed come prepared.

Su Yao stood in front of me, her Valkyrie aura exploding instantly, like a drawn sword, its cold light piercing: "If you want to touch him, you'll have to get past me first!" The long sword in her hand hummed, its tip pointing directly at Brother Jin's strategist.

I hugged her from behind and whispered in her ear, "Be careful, these people are not simple." Su Yao's body trembled slightly, then she nodded firmly. I transferred some of my power to her, hoping to lend her a helping hand.

"Kill!" At the strategist's command, the men in black pounced like hungry wolves. Su Yao brandished her longsword, its flashing light like a cascading silver river, forcing back the first few men in black who charged forward. However, the men in black were numerous and well-coordinated, and Su Yao gradually felt overwhelmed.

I was frantic with worry, but there was nothing I could do. Although I possessed special beast-taming abilities, my beasts were not yet fully developed and were no match for these experts. All I could do was hold Su Yao tightly, using my body to shield her from some of the attacks.

"Nong Yu, you... let me go!" Su Yao's voice trembled slightly, but it was full of determination. "Go... find evidence! Only by finding evidence can we prove the innocence of the Beast Tamer of Jinlun!"

I know she's right. The most important thing now isn't the battle, but finding evidence that Brother Jin's strategist tampered with intelligence. Only by finding the evidence can we expose his conspiracy and bring justice to the Beastmaster Jin Lun.

I took a deep breath and released Su Yao. "You... be careful!" I said, then turned and rushed into the depths of the stone chamber. I knew that since Brother Jin had chosen to make his move here, it meant that there must be some secret hidden here.

The stone chamber was shrouded in darkness. I groped my way forward, my heart filled with unease. Suddenly, my foot kicked something. I bent down to pick it up, and it was icy cold to the touch—it was a jade pendant…engraved with symbols! These symbols…were exactly the same as those on the stone slab!

Could this be...?

"Found her!" I exclaimed with delight, about to examine her closely, when suddenly I heard a loud crash behind me. I whirled around and saw Su Yao struck by a man in black, lying on the ground…

"Su Yao!" My eyes widened in horror, and I rushed back without thinking... My hand... touched something... something cold and hard...
