Chapter 345 The Path to Breaking the Law and Beginning Training
Watching the dejected figure of the Beastmaster, I felt a heavy weight pressing on my heart. The Giant Rock Bear, a beastmaster renowned for its strength, lay limply on the ground like a deflated balloon. The Beastmaster stroked its mane incessantly, muttering incantations, but to no avail.
The Beastmaster walked up to me, hesitant to speak. "Nong Yu, I..." He rubbed his hands together, finally sighing, "Looks like I was too optimistic." I patted his shoulder, giving him an encouraging look. I knew he had worried that the new training program wouldn't be able to accommodate the differences among all Beastmasters, and now it seemed his concerns had come true.
I surveyed the training ground; the beast tamers were all in different situations. Some were progressing rapidly, like the young Nuo. Although he lacked the ability to tame beasts, his profound understanding of beast taming allowed him to display astonishing talent in auxiliary training. He could always keenly perceive the needs of his beasts and provide appropriate guidance. Even the beasts around him with mediocre aptitude showed far more vitality than before. Others, however, were stagnating, like the beast tamer Fei, who had even regressed.
Where exactly is the problem? My training plan has taken into account the characteristics of different beast tamers as much as possible, so why are the results still so inconsistent? Is there really no method that can perfectly suit every beast tamer?
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm myself down. Just then, the Jinlu envoy rushed over, looking flustered. "Nongyu, I...I've discovered...in the far north, there's a kind of..." He gasped for breath, speaking haltingly. I gestured for him to speak slowly. The far north? Could there be some special training resources there?
"In the far north... there is a special mineral that is said to... said to enhance the connection between the beast tamer and the beast tamer..." Envoy Lu finally finished speaking, his face showing a hint of excitement mixed with a little unease.
Strengthening the connection between the beast tamer and the beast master? A thought struck me—this might be the key I'd been searching for! I immediately thought of my special ability: the ability to forge an equal contract with my beasts and share their power. If I could utilize this ability to deeply perceive the soul connection between each beast tamer and their creature, perhaps I could find a breakthrough!
I walked to the Beastmaster, knelt down, and gently placed my hand on the Giant Rock Bear. Closing my eyes and concentrating, I tried to use my special ability to sense the connection between the Giant Rock Bear and the Beastmaster. A faint energy flowed through my fingertips; I seemed to see the Giant Rock Bear's inner world—its fear, its confusion, and its deep dependence on the Beastmaster. The Beastmaster, meanwhile, was filled with anxiety and self-blame; he longed to help the Giant Rock Bear but couldn't find a way.
I opened my eyes, already knowing the answer. The problem with the Beastmaster wasn't the training method itself, but rather the lack of sufficient trust and understanding between him and the Giant Rock Bear. I turned to look at the other Beastmasters, carefully sensing the connection between each of them and their beasts. I discovered that the connection between each Beastmaster and their beast was different; some were close, some distant, and some even fraught with contradictions.
I finally understood. To ensure the training methods were perfectly suited to each beast tamer, a personalized training plan had to be developed based on the unique bond between them and their beasts. I shared my thoughts with the beast tamer, who frowned. "But wouldn't that make the training even more chaotic?" Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by a voice from afar…
"Nong Yu! My Rift Leopard has broken through!" the young Nuo shouted excitedly, his voice echoing across the training ground and attracting everyone's attention. The Rift Leopard, which had originally been of ordinary talent, now exuded a fierce aura and moved at a speed that was almost impossible to catch with the naked eye.
The Beastmaster was stunned. He looked at the young man and his Gale Leopard, then at me, his expression complex. "But...this..." He seemed to want to refute, but couldn't find a suitable reason.
“I know what you’re worried about,” I said calmly. “Personalized training programs do increase the difficulty of management, but only in this way can we maximize the potential of each beast tamer.”
"But this is too complicated! We simply don't have enough manpower to develop and implement so many different plans!" The Beast Tamer became agitated, his voice rising eight octaves. "Just imagine, hundreds of Beast Tamers, hundreds of different Beast Taming methods, hundreds of different training plans—this is simply an impossible task!"
“They’re not completely different,” I explained. “We can categorize the connection between beast tamers and their tamers, find some commonalities, develop some basic training models, and then fine-tune them based on individual differences. This way, we can ensure personalization while improving efficiency.”
"Easy for you to say! Who do you think you are? A Beast Taming Saint? Even the most powerful Beast Taming Master wouldn't dare claim to fully understand the connection between all beasts and their tamers!" The Beast Tamer practically roared, "You're delusional! A fool's dream!"
His words pierced me like a sharp knife. I took a deep breath, trying to control my emotions. "I know it's difficult, but we have to try! Are you just going to stand by and watch them stagnate, or even regress? Are you willing to watch our training program fail?"
My tone hardened, and the atmosphere in the training ground instantly became tense. The beast tamers around me held their breath, afraid to utter a sound.
Just then, I felt a pair of warm hands gently rest on my shoulders. I turned around and saw Su Yao. She stood behind me, her eyes full of trust and encouragement. Her appearance was like a clear spring, extinguishing the anger in my heart and filling me with renewed strength.
“I believe in you,” Su Yao’s voice was gentle yet firm, carrying an undeniable power. “I believe your method will definitely succeed.”
Her trust gave me tremendous support. I took a deep breath and looked at the Beastmaster again. "I know this is difficult, but we can work together and overcome the difficulties together. Haven't you always hoped to find a more effective training method? Now, we have the opportunity, so why not give it a try?"
The Beastmaster fell silent, his head bowed, seemingly pondering my words. After a long while, he raised his head, his eyes still hesitant, but his tone had softened considerably. "Alright, I'm willing to try. But, if your method doesn't work..."
Before he could finish speaking, Su Yao suddenly interrupted him. "Beastmaster, come with me." Her tone was calm, yet carried an undeniable air of authority.
The Beast Tamer paused for a moment, then silently followed Su Yao towards a special area deep within the training ground. That area was specifically for training in special beast taming abilities, and few people usually went there.
Su Yao led the Beast Tamer into that special area, their figures disappearing at the entrance. Watching their departing backs, I felt a mix of anticipation and unease. Could Su Yao's training methods truly break through the Beast Tamer's limitations?
“Let’s begin…” I said to the Beastmaster, my eyes shining with determination.
