Chapter 334 The Conflict Gradually Softens and the Ice Melts

I took a deep breath and began to articulate the plan I had rehearsed countless times in my mind. First, I pointed out our current predicament: a scarcity of resources and a lack of high-end combat power. Then, I elaborated on how, after cooperating with our mysterious ally, we would acquire their advanced beast-taming technology and how we would utilize their resources to enhance our overall strength.

“I know,” I raised my voice, meeting their still skeptical gazes directly, “you fear being controlled by our allies, fear losing your autonomy. But believe me, this cooperation is based on equality and mutual benefit. We share resources, develop together, and our ultimate goal is to jointly defend against external enemies!”

I pointed to the boy, Pei, standing at the edge of the crowd with a somber expression. "Do you remember the last monster invasion? Pei's parents sacrificed themselves on the battlefield to protect us! The power we have now is insufficient to resist the next invasion! If we continue to fight amongst ourselves and refuse external aid, who will be the next to sacrifice themselves?"

My words resonated deeply, eliciting a murmur of discussion from the crowd. I saw the doubt in the eyes of some of the beast tamers begin to fade, replaced by a hint of wavering. The beast tamer who mended the armor clenched his fists in excitement; he had always been a staunch supporter of me, and now he finally saw a glimmer of hope.

“Specifically,” I continued, “our mysterious allies have promised to provide us with some rare spiritual herbs and ores to help us cultivate more powerful beasts. They will also send experienced beast-taming masters to guide our training. In return, we need to provide some of our own unique herbs and minerals, as well as some manpower support if necessary.”

I paused, looked around at everyone to make sure they understood what I meant. "I know this sounds like a transaction, but it's more like a mutual assistance. We each get what we need and progress together. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us, and for the entire Beast Taming Clan!"

My analysis was logical and well-founded, and many beast tamers began to nod in agreement. Even among those who had initially been staunchly opposed, some voices began to waver. I glanced at Su Yao; she was looking at me intently, her eyes filled with pride and trust. This further solidified my resolve.

Just when I thought the situation was about to turn around, the Beastmaster suddenly sneered, interrupting my speech. "Elegant words! Equality and mutual benefit? Who believes that! Don't forget, back then..." He deliberately dragged out his words, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

The Beastmaster's words were like a bucket of cold water, extinguishing the newly ignited flame of hope. His chilling gaze swept over the crowd, his tone full of provocation: "Back then, they kept saying they would help us resist the demon invasion, but what happened? At the crucial moment, they withdrew their troops, leaving us to face a powerful enemy alone! You dare to trust such allies?"

He paused, observing the reactions of the beast tamers around him. Seeing the renewed suspicion on some faces, he continued, "Don't be fooled by their sweet talk! Their so-called cooperation is nothing more than an attempt to exploit us! Once we hand over the resources they need, they'll show their true colors!"

I felt the atmosphere around me tense again. Some of the beast tamers who had begun to waver had returned to the opposing camp. My heart sank; it seemed that persuading them would be much more difficult than I had imagined.

Just then, I felt a pair of warm hands gently pressing on my shoulders. I turned around and saw Su Yao. She was standing behind me, gently massaging my shoulders. Her eyes were firm and encouraging, as if telling me: Don't give up, I believe in you.

Although Su Yao's movements were gentle, they were like a warm current flowing through my entire body, gradually easing my initial tension. Her actions also demonstrated our close relationship to those around us, silently telling them: we stand together, we trust and support each other.

I took a deep breath and rallied my spirits. I knew I couldn't give up; I had to find a way to break the deadlock.

“Beastmaster, what you’re talking about is all in the past,” I said calmly. “I know that our allies’ withdrawal back then caused us heavy losses. But we must also see that they have been trying to make up for their mistakes over the years. They have not only provided a lot of resources, but also sent beastmasters to guide our cultivation.”

I paused, then spoke with even greater conviction, "I know the pain of the past is hard to forget. But we cannot live in the shadow of the past forever. We must look forward. For our future, for the future of the entire Beast Taming Clan, we must unite and face the challenges together!"

I looked around at everyone and said earnestly, "I believe that as long as we work together, we will definitely be able to overcome all difficulties!"

My words once again stirred the crowd. Some beast tamers began to whisper among themselves, their eyes filled with a mixture of doubt and hesitation. I understood that more compelling evidence was needed to completely dispel their doubts.

I gave a wink to the guard standing to the side, who immediately understood and turned to leave the council hall.

"Gentlemen," I raised my voice, "I know it's difficult to convince you completely with just a few words from me. So, I specifically ordered people to move the special resources provided by our allies here."

As soon as I finished speaking, the doors of the council hall slowly opened, and several guards carried in several huge chests. These chests emitted a strange light, illuminating the entire hall.

"What is this?" someone in the crowd asked.

I walked to the boxes and opened one of them. Inside were some rare and precious herbs radiating a rich spiritual energy… “I think these things should prove something,” I said, my gaze sweeping over the crowd before finally settling on the Beastmaster’s face. His face was ashen, and his lips trembled slightly.
