Chapter 330 Innocents Suffer the Chaos
Chapter 330 The Innocent Suffer Amidst the Chaos
The boy's scream pierced the tense atmosphere in the hall like a sharp knife. He stumbled in, his face full of terror, pointing outside the hall and shouting incoherently, "They...they're fighting..." My heart sank, and an ominous premonition welled up inside me.
Before I could ask any further questions, a cacophony of shouts and clashes erupted outside the hall, a cacophony of weapons clanging and screams of terror. "Damn it!" I cursed under my breath. The Beastmaster had indeed chosen the worst possible method. He was determined to wipe us out along with our so-called "mysterious allies," showing no regard for the potential innocent casualties.
Just as I was about to rush out, Su Yao grabbed my arm tightly. "Wait, Nong Yu," her voice was calm and composed, "the situation outside is chaotic right now. Rushing out will only put you in a passive position." Her words calmed me down. Indeed, things were chaotic outside, and I had to stay calm to find the best way to deal with the situation.
Just then, another scream came from outside the hall, even more shrill and desperate than before. "Ah! Help...help me..." I turned my head sharply to look at the entrance of the hall, and saw a thin boy staggering in, his left arm covered in blood, his face full of terror and pain.
It's that boy who was playing outside the hall earlier! He's been dragged into this conflict!
"Stop!" Su Yao shouted, her figure flashing past me like lightning as she rushed towards the hall entrance. Her speed was so fast that I had no time to react. Almost in the blink of an eye, Su Yao appeared in front of the young man, her slender figure standing between him and the chaotic battlefield, like an unbreakable barrier.
Several fierce attacks struck the young man almost simultaneously, but Su Yao effortlessly deflected them. Her longsword danced like the wind, and with flashes of light, all the attacks were blocked.
Only then did I realize that those attacking the young man were not members of the Beast Tamers, but rather several people dressed in strange attire, presumably members of the so-called "mysterious allies." They seemed oblivious to the fact that the young man was just an innocent passerby, and their attack was ruthless.
After being rescued by Su Yao, the young man, still shaken, hid behind her. He looked up at Su Yao's dashing figure, his eyes filled with awe and... a hint of barely perceptible infatuation. A faint fragrance emanated from Su Yao, which was particularly clear in the tense atmosphere, making the young man somewhat dizzy and infatuated.
Su Yao didn't notice the boy's unusual behavior. Her sharp gaze swept across her surroundings, alert to any possible danger.
The beast tamer in the hall, seeing Su Yao protect the young man, grew even more grim. He abruptly waved his hand and shouted sharply, "Give it to me..."
"Take them down! Leave no one alive!" The Beastmaster's roar shook the hall, his eyes bloodshot, like a raging beast.
My heart tightened. Su Yao's actions were undoubtedly adding fuel to the fire, further escalating the already tense situation. Given the Beastmaster's tough stance, it seemed this conflict was unlikely to end well.
I took a deep breath and clenched my fists. It seemed I had to prepare for battle. Just as I was about to summon my beast, the Beastmaster stepped in front of me. "Nong Yu, protect yourself. Leave this to me!" His tone was firm, and there was no fear in his eyes. I knew he was no match for the Beastmaster, but his courage and sense of responsibility warmed my heart.
I glanced at him gratefully, then turned my gaze to Su Yao. She remained guarding the young man, facing the ever-growing number of enemies without fear. Her longsword danced with impenetrable skill, each swing unleashing a sharp, piercing aura that forced the enemies back. Seeing her so brave and fearless, my heart filled with love and admiration.
Our eyes met in mid-air, and she gave me a gentle smile, as if to tell me she was alright and to put my mind at ease. At that moment, I felt the whole world quiet down, leaving only her and me, and the unspoken understanding and love between us.
However, this tranquility was soon shattered. More and more enemies surged forward, surrounding Su Yao completely. I was extremely anxious, wishing I could rush to her aid immediately, but I knew I had to remain calm to find the best course of action.
Just then, a figure suddenly appeared beside me. It was Strategist Kai, his face pale and his forehead covered in sweat. "Nong Yu, this can't go on, we must find a way to stop this conflict!" He said urgently, clearly realizing the seriousness of the situation.
I nodded in agreement. I knew that the conflict had spiraled out of our control, and if it wasn't stopped soon, the consequences would be dire.
“Where is the Envoy of E? Send him to negotiate with the Beastmaster of Americium!” I said in a deep voice.
The strategist shook his head helplessly. "I've already sent him, but the Beastmaster won't listen to him at all and has detained him instead."
Upon hearing this news, my heart sank to the bottom. It seems that any hope for a peaceful resolution has been dashed.
I took a deep breath, a resolute glint in my eyes. "Since that's the case, then we have no choice but to..." I didn't finish my sentence, but turned and walked towards a corner of the hall. There was an inconspicuous hidden door there, leading to a secret place.
I pushed open the hidden door and went inside. The beast tamers around me looked puzzled at my actions. They didn't know what I was going to do, or what I would do next.
I arrived at the center of the secret place, where there was an ancient altar. I placed my hands on the altar, closed my eyes, and began to silently chant an incantation.
The beast tamers around me began to whisper among themselves, all speculating about my intentions, but none of them knew what I was going to do.
Suddenly, a dazzling light emanated from the altar… I opened my eyes, a mysterious smile playing on my lips, “It’s time…”
