Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 312 The Danger of Flanking Enemies

Su Yao's warning came too late. A sharp pain instantly coursed through my body; I staggered a few steps, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Through my blurred vision, I saw a figure flash by, moving with astonishing speed.

"Despicable!" Su Yao shouted angrily, her figure transforming into a streak of light as she chased after the figure.

I struggled to my feet, wiping the blood from the corner of my mouth. My back burned with pain; the attack had clearly contained some kind of special energy, which was steadily eroding my body. I endured the pain, channeling my inner strength to resist.

"Yu!" Su Yao returned, a hint of anxiety on her face. "How are you?"

"I'm fine." I took a deep breath, trying to appear calm. "I just got a minor injury, it's nothing serious."

Su Yao helped me up and checked my injuries with concern. Her hand gently brushed across my back, and a cool energy slowly flowed into my body, instantly easing the pain considerably.

“It’s the Beastmaster Ai,” Su Yao said in a deep voice. “His dark magic is very strange; you must be careful.”

The Beastmaster… A chilling figure flashed through my mind. He was a mysterious figure within the forces of darkness; few had ever seen his true face, yet his dark magic inspired terror in all who heard of him.

"What are they trying to do?" I asked, gritting my teeth against the pain. On the main battlefield, the dark forces were still launching a fierce attack, but their attacks seemed chaotic and disorganized, as if they had ulterior motives. Meanwhile, the Beastmaster had circled around to ambush me from behind; there was definitely some conspiracy involved.

Su Yao's expression also turned serious. "I'm worried they're trying to bypass our defenses and attack the towns behind us directly."

If that's the case, the consequences would be unimaginable. The rear towns of the Beast Taming Realm are poorly defended; if they were breached by the dark forces, it would cause enormous casualties.

Just then, a series of urgent shouts came from afar: "Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"

"Oh no!" My heart sank. It seemed our guess was right.

A young figure stumbled over, his face filled with terror. "Report! An elite squad from the Dark Forces has bypassed our lines and is heading towards the towns behind us!"

This is Radium, a young boy stationed at the border. Although he is relatively weak, he is brave and alert. It is quite remarkable that he was able to detect the enemy's movements in time and issue an alarm.

"Well done, Radium!" I patted him on the shoulder and encouraged him. "You did a great job."

A hint of gratitude flashed in the boy's eyes, then he said anxiously, "But they're too fast, we can't stop them at all!"

"I know." I took a deep breath, a resolute glint in my eyes. "Su Yao, let's go!"

Su Yao gripped my hand tightly, her eyes resolute, and said, "Yu, let's deal with them together." I felt the strength and warmth emanating from her hand… "Notify Elder A!"

Su Yao's hand was warm and strong, like an electric current coursing through my body, dispelling the discomfort from the pain and gradually calming my previously panicked heart. I grasped her hand in return, feeling the warmth of her palm and its slight trembling. I knew she wasn't afraid, but rather tense and worried.

"Notify Elder A!" I shouted to the boy with the laser beam. He nodded immediately, turned around, and ran off.

We had no time to waste; we had to get to the flank as quickly as possible to provide support. I took a deep breath, channeled all my power, grabbed Su Yao, and sped off in the direction from which the shouts were coming.

The scenes along the way were shocking. The once peaceful and tranquil villages had been ravaged by war; houses had collapsed, fields lay barren, and the air was thick with the stench of blood. My heart felt like it was being gripped tightly by an invisible hand, and even breathing became difficult.

"They're trying to cut off our retreat and then concentrate their forces to break through our front line!" Su Yao analyzed the enemy's intentions as she ran. "We have to stop them!"

I know she's right. If the flank defenses are breached, the dark forces could advance unimpeded and penetrate deep into the heart of the Beast Taming Realm, with unimaginable consequences.

We quickly arrived at the flank of the battlefield. The scene before us was even worse than I had imagined. The elite squad sent by the dark forces was formidable; their teamwork was impeccable, and their attacks were relentless. Although the warriors of the Beast Taming Realm fought valiantly, they were gradually losing ground.

"Both the polonium tamer and the radon tamer are here!" Su Yao recognized the two enemy generals at a glance. "It seems they've gone all out to break through our defenses in one fell swoop."

The Polonium Beast Tamer is brave and warlike, possessing formidable strength; the Radon Beast Tamer is cunning and resourceful, adept at strategy. These two working together pose a tremendous challenge to us.

"Yu, let's go!" Without the slightest hesitation, Su Yao drew her longsword and transformed into a streak of light, charging into the enemy ranks.

Without hesitation, I followed suit and joined the battle. My tamed beast, a giant, snow-white wolf, let out a deafening roar and charged into the enemy ranks.

The battle was incredibly fierce. The beast tamers of the dark forces fought with unwavering ferocity, their attacks pouring down like a storm, leaving Su Yao and me overwhelmed. I wielded my longsword, deflecting the enemy's attacks while simultaneously protecting Su Yao.

Su Yao's fighting style remained as fierce as ever; her swordsmanship was as fast as lightning, each move deadly. Under her sharp attacks, many beast tamers from the dark forces fell in pools of blood.

Despite Su Yao and I's best efforts, the enemy's numbers were simply too great, and their strength formidable. The warriors of the Beast Taming Realm were gradually weakening, and their defensive line was on the verge of being breached.

At this critical moment, an old yet authoritative voice rang out on the battlefield: "Stop!"

I turned my head and saw an elderly man with white hair, leaning on a cane, slowly walking over.

It's Elder A!

His appearance instantly changed the atmosphere on the battlefield. The beast tamers of the dark forces seemed somewhat wary, and their offensive eased slightly.

"Elder A, what brings you here?" I quickly went to greet him.

Elder A's gaze swept across the battlefield, his eyes filled with worry. "I sensed a powerful energy fluctuation here, so I came to investigate." His gaze fell on the polonium beast tamer and the radon beast tamer. "You two, retreat immediately!"

The Beastmaster sneered, "Elder A, you're old. You should go back to your old age. This isn't a place for you!"

The radon beast tamer said in a sinister tone, "Today, we will raze the beast taming world to the ground!"

Elder A's face darkened. "Stubborn fool!" He raised his cane...
