Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 227 The Mystery Within the Stars, Wisdom Unravels the Trap

The dark figure appeared and disappeared in the mist, like a ghost, sending chills down one's spine.

"Be careful," I whispered, gripping my sword tighter.

Su Yao also watched the scene ahead warily, gripping her spear tightly in her hand.

We cautiously walked toward the shadowy figure, taking each step with utmost care.

However, as we ventured deeper, the shadowy figure maintained its distance from us, as if deliberately luring us forward.

The fog around us grew thicker and thicker, and visibility decreased so much that we could barely see each other's faces.

"Something's not right about this maze," Su Yao said gravely.

I nodded, a sense of unease rising within me.

This maze seems to possess some kind of peculiar power, not only obstructing our view but also constantly draining our energy.

I felt my breathing becoming more and more rapid, and my steps becoming heavier and heavier.

"Try to force your way through." Su Yao said, and suddenly swung her spear. A sharp spear light pierced through the mist and slammed into the wall of the maze.

However, the expected collapse did not occur. The wall only trembled slightly before returning to calm, as if nothing had happened.

Su Yao refused to believe it and fired a few more shots, but the result was the same.

Her face turned pale, and fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

"This wall seems to be protected by some kind of power." I walked up to the wall, reached out and touched it, and a cold aura instantly spread throughout my body, making me shiver involuntarily.

The wall is made of a very special material; it feels smooth like jade to the touch, yet it is incredibly hard, as if it were made of some kind of special metal.

"This won't do, we'll be trapped here and die," I said in a deep voice, my heart filled with anxiety.

Su Yao understood this, but there was nothing she could do about it.

We tried various methods, but we were still unable to break through the maze's blockade.

Time ticked by, the fog grew thicker, and our strength was waning.

I felt my body getting weaker and weaker, and my consciousness began to become blurred.

Su Yao was in no better condition; her face was pale, her breathing was rapid, and her body was trembling slightly.

"Yao, can you still hold on?" I asked with concern.

Su Yao forced a smile. "It's okay, I can still manage."

My heart was filled with worry; I knew she was putting on a brave face.

If this continues, we'll be trapped here sooner or later.

I must find a way out as soon as possible.

I closed my eyes, tried to calm myself down, and began to carefully observe my surroundings.

There seem to be some markings on the wall?

I took a deep breath and forced myself to calm down.

Panic is useless; it will only hasten our demise.

I closed my eyes and focused all my senses on touch, my fingertips slowly moving along the cold, smooth wall.

At first, the texture was uniform, nothing more than cold and smooth.

I was not discouraged and continued to explore, inch by inch, not letting go of any detail.

Finally, amidst the smooth surface, my fingertips touched a barely perceptible bump.

I suddenly opened my eyes and carefully observed the scene in the dim light.

It was an extremely tiny mark; I would never have noticed it if I hadn't calmed down.

The shape of the mark is peculiar, resembling both an ancient script and a totem.

A thought struck me: Could this be a beast-taming mark?

I have seen similar records in ancient books. Some powerful beast tamers would leave beast markings in their territories or important places as a symbol of their identity or as a special instruction.

I continued to explore along the wall, and sure enough, I found several more similar marks.

These marks, though small, are of various shapes and seem to contain some kind of pattern.

I memorized the shapes and positions of these marks one by one, and kept arranging and combining them in my mind.

"What are you doing?" Su Yao's weak voice rang in my ears.

“Shh,” I gestured for her to be quiet, “I think I’ve discovered something.”

I continued studying the markings, my brain racing, trying to decipher their secrets.

Time ticked by, my heart pounded faster and faster, and I felt myself getting closer and closer to the truth.

Suddenly, it dawned on me that these markings... they actually correspond to the star map!

I studied astrology at the Beast Taming Academy and am very familiar with the arrangement and combination of star charts.

These markings are arranged according to a specific star chart!

I immediately understood the meaning of these markings; they were not simple decorations, but a code that guided the way!

I found the exit of the maze by following the order of the star chart.

"Yao, come with me!" I took Su Yao's hand and quickly moved forward along the correct path.

The fog gradually dissipated, and a bright and clear view appeared before us.

We finally made it out of the maze!

Su Yao looked at me with eyes full of admiration. She held my arm tightly and pressed her body close to mine. "Yu, you are so smart."

I felt her softness, and my heart raced.

“Let’s go,” I said, gently patting her hand, but a sense of unease welled up inside me.

Emerging from the maze, a vast plaza came into view. In the center of the plaza, a massive seal of power emitted a faint glow. Ancient characters were inscribed on the surrounding stone tablets: "Break the seal to proceed..." My hand involuntarily tightened around the hilt of my sword.
