Beast Taming Star Journey

As the noise from the competition gradually subsided, I walked over to Su Yao, and she gave me an approving look.

“Well done,” she said, with a hint of barely perceptible worry in her voice, “but they certainly won’t give up now.”

I know Su Yao is right.

Neither the copper inspectors nor the zinc competitors are pushovers.

Those eyes were clearly filled with resentment and malice; they would definitely be plotting against me in secret.

I gently stroked the soft fur of the Howling Moon Wolf, while the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle affectionately nuzzled my shoulder. They were still immersed in the joy of victory, completely unaware that danger was quietly approaching.

"What will they do next?" I watched the departing figures of the copper inspector and the zinc competitor with a sense of vigilance, my eyes never leaving them.

Suddenly, I saw the zinc competitor stop and whisper something to a short, shifty-looking man.

The man was the assistant to the zinc competitor. I had seen him a few times in previous competitions; he was always acting suspiciously, which made me very uncomfortable.

He listened attentively, nodding and bowing, occasionally glancing furtively in my direction.

After finishing his sentence, the zinc competitor patted him on the shoulder and turned to leave.

The short man then stealthily walked towards my beast-taming companion.

My heart sank suddenly and an ominous premonition came over me.

I kept my eyes fixed on the man, not daring to relax for a moment.

He pulled a bottle containing an unknown liquid from his pocket and, when no one was looking, quickly poured the liquid into the food I had prepared for Howling Moon Wolf and Crimson Flame Golden Eagle.

After doing all this, he looked around like a thief, and only after making sure no one had noticed did he hurriedly slip away.

My blood froze instantly!

They actually dared to use such despicable tactics right under my nose!

Anger burned in my chest, and I wanted nothing more than to rush up to the man, grab him, and teach him a lesson.

But I resisted the urge; I knew it wasn't the right time yet.

"Howling Moon, Crimson Flame, come here." I called to my companions as calmly as possible.

They ran over happily, ready to enjoy the food I had prepared for them.

My heart clenched as I watched helplessly as they swallowed the contaminated food, bite by bite.

I so hoped they would notice something was wrong with the food, but they noticed nothing and continued to eat with relish.

Not long after, the Howling Moon Wolf and the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle began to show signs of lethargy.

The once spirited fur of the Howling Moon Wolf lost its luster and became somewhat dull; the once bright eyes of the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle also became somewhat vacant.

Their movements became sluggish, and they even swayed when standing.

"Howling Moon! Crimson Flame! What's wrong with you?" I asked anxiously, my heart filled with worry.

They let out a weak, low whimper, as if to tell me they were in great pain.

I clenched my fists so tightly that my nails dug deep into my flesh.

Zinc competitor, how dare you be so despicable!

I will never let you get away with this!

Su Yao walked to my side and gently took my hand.

“Calm down,” she said in a low voice. “Now is not the time to act impulsively.”

I know Su Yao is right. I need to calm down before I can find a way to solve the current predicament.

Suddenly, the bronze examiner's voice rang out from not far away: "The next test, Beast Taming Combo! Begin now!"

I took a deep breath, raised my head, and looked firmly into the testing area...

“Let’s go,” I said to my companion, my voice low and strong.

Su Yao and I arrived at the entrance to the interstellar passage. Before us lay a dark and deep unknown realm, exuding an unsettling aura.

Su Yao gripped my hand tightly and whispered, "Be careful..."
