Beast Taming Star Journey

Chapter 212 Facing a Predicament, Breaking Through with Strength

The voice of the Gallium Assistant echoed in the examination room, and every rule struck my heart like a heavy hammer.

The rules are so complicated and unheard of that they seem to be shackles specially made for me. They prohibit the use of certain beast-taming skills, limit the range of movement of the beasts, and even require a specific breathing frequency.

An ominous premonition enveloped me. Could this so-called investigation have been a conspiracy against me from the very beginning?

My gaze swept over the bronze examiner on the stage. He had a barely perceptible sneer on his lips, and his eyes gleamed with a sinister light.

My heart sank; it seemed my guess was right.

"Now, let's begin the first test—Beast Taming Cooperative Combat!" Assistant Jia's voice broke my thoughts.

A huge arena rose up in the center of the testing ground, covered with all sorts of traps and mechanisms.

My heart sank. The complexity of this arena far exceeded the normal assessment standards, and the density of traps and mechanisms was astonishing.

This is no test; it's a meticulously planned trap!

"Please invite contestant Nong Yu and his beast companion to the stage." Assistant Jia's voice was cold and ruthless.

I took a deep breath and tried to keep myself calm.

Little Flame seemed to sense my tension; it growled softly and looked around warily.

I gently patted its mane and whispered, "Don't be afraid, we'll face this together."

Xiao Yan and I stepped onto the arena, and the traps were immediately activated.

Sharp blades shot out from the ground, raging flames rained down from the sky, and poisonous gas filled the air, making it suffocating.

I cursed inwardly. This bronze inspector really went to any lengths to stop me!

"Assessment criteria: Within a limited time, navigate through all the traps and mechanisms to reach the other end of the arena," Assistant Jia's voice rang out again.

Looking at the dense array of traps and mechanisms before me, I felt a surge of pressure.

These traps are ingeniously designed; a slight misstep can result in serious injury or even death.

"Nong Yu, give up! You can't possibly do it!" A harsh voice rang out; it was the zinc competitor.

He stood below the stage with a gloating smile on his face.

I gave him a cold glance and ignored him.

I will not give up, and I will never bow down to these despicable people!

I focused my attention and began to observe the traps and mechanisms on the arena.

My special beast-taming ability allows me to clearly perceive Xiao Yan's emotions and thoughts, and our cooperation is seamless.

"Xiao Yan, are you ready?" I asked in a low voice.

Xiao Yan let out a low growl, indicating that there was no problem.

"Begin!" I commanded, and Xiao Yan transformed into a bolt of lightning, swiftly darting between the traps and mechanisms.

I followed closely behind, perfectly avoiding every danger thanks to my telepathic connection with Xiao Yan.

"He...he actually dodged it!" A gasp came from the audience.

The copper inspector's face turned ashen; he hadn't expected me to be able to deal with these traps so easily.

A cold smile crept across my lips.

This is just the beginning... "Next..." Assistant Gall's voice suddenly paused, and his gaze fell on Inspector Bronze.

The copper inspector nodded with a gloomy expression.

Gallium Assistant took a deep breath and said coldly, "Initiate the second phase..."

In the second phase, the mechanism suddenly changed. The ground of the arena began to shake violently, and the originally fixed traps became moving obstacles, as if they had come to life, with sharp blades and flame-spitting beast heads, frantically attacking us.

The difficulty increased several times over in an instant, eliciting gasps from the audience.

"This...this is simply impossible!" someone exclaimed in horror.

The zinc competitor smugly boasted, "Nongyu, let's see how you hide now! You'll be eliminated!"

His voice was sharp and grating, full of schadenfreude.

I gave him a cold glance, feeling nothing at all.

These petty tricks are not enough to shake my resolve.

I took a deep breath and focused all my attention on the challenge at hand.

Little Flame also sensed my will. It let out a low roar, its eyes burning with fierce fighting spirit.

My special beast-taming ability has created a perfect tacit understanding between me and Xiao Yan. I can clearly perceive its every move and every thought.

"Xiao Yan, trust me!" I whispered.

Xiao Yan responded with a roar, and the two of them, one human and one beast, moved as one through the moving traps.

With my precise control over Xiao Yan and my ability to predict the trajectory of traps and mechanisms, I have managed to escape danger time and time again.

My movements were fluid and graceful, like a dance, yet full of power.

Every dodge was perfectly timed, thrilling and exciting, leaving the audience in awe.

"He...he actually managed to dodge it?!" someone exclaimed in disbelief.

I could even sense that some of the beast tamers who had initially been skeptical of me now had a look of admiration in their eyes.

Even the bronze examiner's face darkened further; he clearly hadn't expected me to handle this challenge so well.

Xiao Yan and I are working together more and more seamlessly. We are like a phantom, moving freely through the traps and mechanisms.

The sharp blades grazed the hem of my clothes, and the flame-spitting beast heads almost brushed past my cheeks. Each time was incredibly dangerous, yet also incredibly exciting.

"Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!" the zinc competitor roared hysterically, his face pale and his eyes filled with jealousy and fear.

A cold smile appeared on my lips as I ignored his shouting.

I focused on the challenge at hand, and every action was precise and decisive.

Finally, just as the time limit was about to expire, Xiao Yan and I successfully reached the other end of the arena.

The entire room fell silent; everyone was stunned by my brilliant performance.

I gently stroked Xiao Yan's mane, feeling a great sense of accomplishment.

I know this is just the beginning, and the challenges ahead will only get tougher.

I looked up at the bronze inspector; his face was terribly gloomy, and his eyes gleamed with a sinister light.

Gallium Assistant walked over to the Copper Inspector and whispered a few words.

The copper inspector nodded slightly, then looked at me with a strange smile on his lips.

“Congratulations, Nong Yu, you have passed the second stage of the assessment. However…” He paused, his tone turning cold, “the real challenge has only just begun.”

He waved his hand, and his assistant immediately stepped forward, holding a scroll in his hand.

"The content of the third stage assessment..." Assistant Gallium slowly unfurled the scroll. My heart tightened, and a strange unease welled up inside me...
