The ominous premonition that welled up in my heart instantly turned into reality.

The man, who claimed to be surnamed Arsenic, had shifty eyes and spoke in a sharp tone, but lacked confidence.

"Absurd!" I shouted. "I was under the supervision of the review committee throughout the entire assessment. How could I possibly have used forbidden techniques? This is slander!"

However, my explanation did not seem to have any effect.

An inspector with a gloomy face—I remember his surname was Tong—slammed his fist on the table, interrupting me.

“Nong Yu,” he said coldly, “someone saw you cheat with their own eyes, what else do you have to say?”

A chill ran through me, and a sense of powerlessness washed over me.

They didn't believe me at all, and didn't even give me a chance to explain.

“Bronze Inspector,” I struggled to contain my anger, “I did not cheat! This so-called witness is utterly lying! I hope the review committee will handle this impartially and not listen to slander!”

My voice echoed in the conference room, but it was like a stone sinking into the sea, without causing any ripples.

The examiner completely ignored my explanations. He picked up the documents on the table and said coldly, "Based on the evidence provided by the witnesses, we have decided to disqualify you from the assessment!"

"No! I didn't cheat!" I almost shouted, my heart filled with resentment and anger.

I put in so much effort and was on the verge of success, but I was disqualified because of a fabricated charge.

"Take him out!" Officer Tong waved his hand impatiently, and two staff members immediately stepped forward and grabbed my arms on either side.

I struggled to break free from their control, but to no avail.

Su Yao wanted to step forward to help me, but was stopped by other staff members.

Her eyes were filled with worry and anxiety, but she could only watch helplessly as I was taken away.

Just when I was about to despair, the conference room door was suddenly pushed open... and a loud voice rang out in the conference room: "Wait!"
