Beast Taming Star Journey

The rusty gate creaked gratingly, and a cold, damp chill wafted out, sending a shiver down my spine. The ferocious roars of the beasts in the square seemed to be shut out by this building; it was eerily quiet inside, with only the sound of my own heartbeat echoing in my chest.

"Yao, something's not right here."

I whispered to Su Yao beside me, while gripping the Beast Taming Ring tightly, ready to summon my companion at any moment.

Su Yao nodded, her golden eyes scanning her surroundings warily, her hand gripping the spear tightly, a chilling fighting spirit emanating from her.

I did not rush in, but instead summoned my most powerful beast—the Shadow Leopard, Little Black.

Little Black is entirely black, agile, and moves as swiftly as the wind. More importantly, it possesses keen perception and stealth abilities, making it the best reconnaissance partner.

"Little Black, go scout ahead."

I whispered my command, and Little Black leaped lightly, disappearing into the dark entrance of the building. I shared Little Black's vision through our mental connection.

Xiao Hei wandered through the abandoned building. Broken furniture and some unidentified equipment were scattered in the corridors. A faint herbal scent filled the air, completely different from the chaotic bloody smell in the square.

I noticed some almost imperceptible fine lines on the floor and walls of the corridor. If it weren't for Xiao Hei's keen senses, we would likely have triggered these traps.

Little Black skillfully avoided these traps, its figure moving silently through the darkness like a ghost.

I shared Xiao Hei's discovery with the Zhou Beastmasters who were on guard outside, and pointed out the exact location of the trap.

"Watch out, here and there!"

My commands were clear and decisive, which made the beast tamers look at me with new respect. They had initially had some doubts about my abilities, but now their eyes were filled with admiration.

The mayor stood to the side, anxiously rubbing his hands and glancing at the building entrance every now and then, his eyes filled with worry and anticipation.

Through Xiao Hei's investigation, I discovered that the internal structure of this building is much more complex than it appears from the outside. It's like a maze, and it seems to have been deliberately modified, filled with traps and mechanisms.

Xiao Hei stopped at the door of a room, and I could sense its unease.

Through Xiao Hei's vision, I saw a huge alchemy furnace in the center of the room, with unburnt ashes beneath it. The air was filled with an even stronger smell of herbs, mixed with a hint of...blood.

Suddenly, Little Black let out a low growl and quickly retreated. My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately told Little Black to come back.

The instant Xiao Hei withdrew, a strange purple light suddenly illuminated the room, followed by a chilling voice echoing from the depths of the building: "Interesting. You actually managed to discover my setup. It seems you're a bit smarter than I thought..."

Little Black darted back to my side in a panic, its fur standing on end, and it let out a low growl. I immediately realized we had been exposed.

"Damn it, I fell into a trap!"

I cursed under my breath and quickly ordered the beast tamers around me: "Prepare for battle! Summon all your beasts!"

Almost simultaneously, the previously rampaging beast horde in the square suddenly fell silent, then turned in unison to look at the building where we were, their eyes flashing with a chilling red light.

Immediately afterwards, the ground began to shake, and countless beasts surged in from all directions, surrounding us completely.

These beasts come in a variety of species and shapes, but without exception they all exude a violent aura and their eyes are filled with bloodthirsty madness.

"It's a formation! We're trapped!"

"One of the beast tamers cried out in terror. My heart sank. Sure enough, the mastermind had anticipated our arrival and laid a trap."

"Yao, back to back!"

I shouted and summoned all my beasts.

Without the slightest hesitation, Su Yao immediately stood back to back with me, wielding her spear like a golden dragon, repelling the approaching beasts one by one.

"Yu, let's break out of here together!"

Her voice was firm and powerful, standing out clearly in the noisy battlefield.

I felt the trust and courage she conveyed to me, and a warm feeling welled up in my heart, making my fighting spirit even higher.

I responded, simultaneously directing my tamed beasts in a fierce battle against the out-of-control horde. The battle was exceptionally intense, with the roars of the beasts and the explosions of spells echoing throughout the plaza.

Although the number of Zhou's beast tamers was large, their strength was generally weak, and they seemed somewhat powerless in the face of the ferocious beast horde.

Su Yao and I fought valiantly against the fiercest attacks, protecting the other beast tamers. As I fought, I observed the surroundings, trying to find a weakness in the formation.

These out-of-control beast attacks, though fierce, lacked any strategy; they seemed to be driven by a special force, blindly attacking us.

Moreover, I noticed that the eyes of these beasts all flashed the same red light, which seemed to be the key to controlling them.

"Yao, focus your attacks on those beasts whose eyes are glowing red!"

I shouted to Su Yao. Su Yao understood immediately, and the spear in her hand transformed into streaks of golden light, accurately piercing towards the red-eyed beasts.

Sure enough, the beast that was hit in the eye immediately stopped attacking and collapsed to the ground, convulsing uncontrollably.

However, there are simply too many out-of-control beasts. Even if we manage to defeat some, new beasts will quickly take their place.

Just then, I saw a figure slowly emerge from the depths of the building. He was wearing a black robe, a strange mask on his face, and holding a black staff in his hand, with a gem that emitted an eerie red light embedded at the top of the staff.

That gem was exactly the same as the red light in the eyes of the out-of-control beast… He looked at us, a sinister smile appearing on his lips, and slowly raised the staff in his hand…
