That evening, Qiu Pi was inside when there was a knock at the door. Without asking any questions, he opened the door, and Geng Miaowan stood outside, dressed in a pink silk dress. He saw no surprise on her face, as if she had expected her to come, or perhaps she had been waiting for this moment all night.

He glanced casually at Geng Miaowan, his expressionless face revealing little emotion. Leaning against the door, he asked seemingly casually, "Is something the matter?"

"It's nothing." Actually, Geng Miaowan just wanted to ask him why he stayed in the Green Mountain Sect. Didn't he know that if his identity were used against him by someone with ulterior motives, he could die a terrible death at any time?

Hearing her say that, he responded with an "Oh," turned around to close the door and go back inside, but she stopped him with a quick glance and agility, saying, "I have something to do, I have something to do."

Qiu Pi then stopped what he was doing and let go of the door, while Geng Miaowan squeezed into the room.

This room was similar to the one she lived in, with very simple furnishings: just a table, a few chairs, and a bed. It was simple and straightforward.

Seeing her looking her up and down, Qiu Pi couldn't help but say, "You didn't come all this way so late just to tour my place, did you?"

She already knew what had happened. It turned out that although Miao Renfeng disagreed with Ershan's statement in the main hall that day, he knew in his heart that the annihilation of the cultivation sect was inseparable from the demon race. His disagreement with Ershan was just to prevent the matter from spreading and causing unnecessary panic in the sect.

He went down the mountain to investigate the demon cluster, but he was attacked by the demons on his way back. Qiu Pi happened to save him at that moment.

Geng Miaowan snapped out of her reverie, seemingly oblivious to the teasing in his words. She glanced at him, sat down at the table, and asked, "Why are you staying here?"

Qiu Pi chuckled and sat down opposite her. However, the smile didn't reach his eyes. "That's an interesting question. Sect Leader Miao is so hospitable and wants me to stay. I can't very well refuse him."

She didn't seem to care about his attitude. She leaned closer and whispered, "Did you come here for some reason?" Then, she looked at him with her deep, unfathomable eyes, her face full of sincerity, as if saying, "Tell me. I promise I won't tell anyone."

He stared unflinchingly into her large, watery eyes, and for a moment he felt he might drown in that deep pool.

He suddenly smiled, a certain gleam appearing on his handsome face. He beckoned her over with his finger. When she brought her face close to the center of the table, almost half her body resting on it, he stood up and leaned close to her ear.

She spoke in a soft, gentle voice, but one that was perfectly audible to her: "What do you think my purpose could be?"

Geng Miaowan thought about it honestly for a moment, then shook her head.

Qiu Pi flicked her forehead with his long, slender fingers and said in a relaxed tone, "What could you possibly come up with with that little brain of yours?"

He didn't realize his behavior seemed a bit intimate. Seeing her rubbing her forehead with a slight frown, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly, and his tone became increasingly relaxed, "Don't you even know that the Green Mountain Sect only occupies this small area? Standing here, you can see right to the back. What could they possibly have for me to draw?"

Geng Miaowan thought about it and agreed. She had been at the Green Mountain Sect for over half a month and hadn't heard of anything about the sect that anyone would covet.

Unlike most major sects that have their own protective magical treasures or secret manuals that are not shared with outsiders, the Green Mountain Sect has none of these. Even the only forbidden area on the mountaintop was set up by Song Gan to prevent disciples from accidentally entering and getting injured.

That being said, no matter how she looked at it, Qiu Pi didn't seem like the kind of person who would do something so pointless. "You really just happened to be passing by and happened to save Sect Leader Miao?"

She was certain that he and Gongye Hong had come from the demon realm to the human realm for some reason, but whether it was truly to find a traitor to the demon realm, as he had said that day, remained to be seen. Besides, if it really was to find a traitor to the demon realm, why would he have time to idly linger here?

These two statements are clearly contradictory.

Despite her doubts, her expression remained unchanged.

"Sect Leader Miao himself said that he decided which route to take on the spot. There was no way I could have known in advance which route he would take and waited there beforehand," Qiu Pi explained to her with rare enthusiasm.

Geng Miaowan felt that this was the most reasonable sentence she had heard since entering the room. Although it couldn't dispel her suspicions, she couldn't find any words to refute him.

She thought for a moment and kindly reminded him, "Although Sect Leader Miao will keep your identity a secret, the Green Mountain Sect is a major cultivation sect after all. It's hard to guarantee that one or two special people might come out who can see through your identity. You, a demon, must be careful here and not give yourself away. Otherwise, it will cause public outrage and force Sect Leader Miao to take you in, which would be bad."

Upon hearing her words, Qiu Pi burst into laughter without warning, leaving Geng Miaowan completely bewildered. "What are you laughing at?" she asked.

She kindly reminded him, but he still laughed at her, which made Geng Miaowan feel a little annoyed.

"You don't think that just because you've lived in the human world for a few years, you're no longer a demon, do you? Do I need to remind you of the things you did in the demon realm before?"

Seeing his obviously mocking expression, Geng Miaowan suddenly felt like she had been struck by lightning for trying to be kind. She stood up abruptly and yelled at Qiu Pi, "You can do whatever you want, it's none of my business."

Seeing her walk towards the door, somewhat embarrassed and angry, Qiu Pi quickly stood up, beat her to it, and held the door shut, trapping her in his arms. He lowered his body slightly to meet her gaze, his dark eyes staring directly at her. "Are you angry?"

"I didn't!" She turned her head to look at an unknown spot to the side. Little did she know that by turning her head like that, she was essentially exposing her beautifully shaped neck to him, like a piece of fine mutton-fat jade radiating an alluring luster.

Qiu Pi's gaze quickly shifted from her face, his eyes darkening slightly. He reached out a hand, pinching her cheek with two fingers to force her to look at him. More than the allure of her fair skin, which he longed to kiss, he seemed more concerned with something else. "You said that because you care about me?"

They were extremely close at that moment, especially when he lowered his head to look her in the eye; their noses were almost touching. She could smell his faint fragrance, and even his breath as he spoke was spraying onto her face, making it flush.

Seeing the mockery in his eyes, she angrily tried to push him away, but instead of moving him, he bent his arms and shortened the distance between them.

Geng Miaowan never imagined that such a scene, which only happens in TV shows and movies, would actually happen to her. For a moment, she didn't know how to react. (To be continued.)
