Even hybrid monsters have their day

Geng Miaowan took a sip of her drink and turned to look out the glass. Since the banquet hall was on the thirtieth floor, the view from here was breathtaking, with colorful neon lights flashing and a panoramic view of most of the city's nightscape, like a starry night sky.

Actually, she had thought about making a move during this time, but she couldn't bring herself to do it each time.

"Are you so sure I'll do exactly what you say?"

He Chaobai chuckled a few times, "Don't tell me you're getting so close to him without any ulterior motives."

"Take a look at his left chest. Is there a red mark there?" Luan Hao suddenly said.

Geng Miaowan hesitated. Although Luan Hao's request was a bit strange, he was not one to speak recklessly. But what method did she have to get He Chaobai to willingly take off his clothes for her to see?

"What did you say!" Qiu Pi was furious. Seeing that his gaze was still fixed on her, he took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders. He then turned back to He Chaobai and said, "He Chaobai, don't go too far!"

“Too much? I’ll do something even more outrageous.” With that, he took advantage of Qiu Pi’s momentary lapse in attention, grabbed him by the collar, and delivered a punch.

Qiu Pi was caught off guard, but he was no ordinary man after all, and his martial arts skills were naturally not bad. He quickly reacted and began to fight back.

The people in the banquet hall were stunned by what they saw.

Although Jie Ye knew that He Chaobai and Qiu Pi were at odds, Qiu Pi was always very tolerant. Even if He Chaobai deliberately provoked him, he would turn a blind eye and never did anything so outrageous in public. Two men in black suits quickly approached and separated the two men. Keen observers recognized them as Mr. Rong's two bodyguards.

Qiu Pi retreated to Geng Miaowan's side. Apart from his disheveled hair and slightly messy clothes, he appeared to be unharmed. Looking at He Chaobai, who was being supported by bodyguards, a cold smile curled at the corner of his lips.

He Chaobai's lips were bruised and purple, and there was a trace of blood under his nostrils; he was no longer the dashing man he once was. He pushed aside his bodyguard and swayed a couple of times before regaining his balance. He stared at Qiu Pi, a ruthless glint in his eyes, "Qiu Pi, don't think you can be so smug for long!"

After saying that, he spat on the ground, straightened his clothes which had been torn in the fight, glanced at Geng Miaowan, and left.

Qiu Pi naturally didn't take his words seriously, and turned back to ask, "Are you alright?"

Geng Miaowan looked away blankly and shook her head. But in her mind, she asked, "What is that red thing on He Chaobai's chest?"

Because his clothes were torn during the fight, she saw a red, circular mark on his left chest, about the size of a fingernail, when she turned around. It looked like there was something inside, but because it was quite far away and she only caught a fleeting glimpse, she couldn't see what it was clearly.

Seeing her shake her head, Qiu Pi straightened his clothes and led her away from the banquet.

In a corner of the banquet, Rong Man'an coldly stared at Qiu Pi as he left, her eyes filled with resentment that had turned into a sinister glint as she gripped her wine glass tightly. (To be continued.)
