Even hybrid monsters have their day

Chapter 11 Entering the Qi Refining Stage

There were no people, nothing, no near or far, no sky or earth, only white, an endless expanse of white. She instinctively felt that this shouldn't be a real world, but she didn't know where she was, or how she got here.

She walked aimlessly forward, and after what seemed like an eternity, she sat down on the ground in despair. She remained there for a long time, closing her eyes to rest as she did so, pondering whether there was any hidden meaning in the situation.

Gradually, the surrounding air became much crisper, and she could almost feel the air lingering around her, as if many different gases were flowing around her. She tried to use her senses to follow the direction of the gas flow, over and over again, tirelessly.

After chasing the gas for a while, Geng Miaowan felt that her senses had become much sharper. Now she could clearly feel many different gases flowing around her, and there were many different smells in the air she inhaled.

Suddenly, a white stream of air appeared before her eyes. It seemed to contain some other colors, and it didn't look very pure, but it was almost impossible to tell what color it was.

The wisp of air flashed past her eyes, so fine it seemed a gentle breeze would disperse it. This was the first color other than white she had seen since entering this pure white world, which fascinated Geng Miaowan, and she consciously followed the wisp of air.

After several failed attempts, she finally managed to keep up with the current. The current traveled for a while before stopping in one spot.

Geng Miaowan's vision gradually cleared, and she saw the meridians throughout her body. The current of energy was currently lingering beside the purple mist in her dantian. It seemed to want to go closer, but was also somewhat afraid of the purple mist.

"Want to come in?" A voice, neither male nor female, drifted out from the purple mist.

Having learned from her previous experience, Geng Miaowan wasn't too frightened when she heard the voice again. She just asked with some confusion, "Who are you, and why are you inside my body?"

She is now certain that the purple mist is not part of her body.

"Hehehe..." A soft chuckle, as melodious as the sound of the world's finest instrument, yet the words spoken were so rude and domineering, "You little half-demon, I can't just come in whenever I want."

"You!" Geng Miaowan was furious. Why did he have the right to come and go as he pleased? Why did he come and occupy the space without moving?

She tried to carry the white current through the purple mist, but failed several times. Finally, Geng Miaowan closed her eyes, concentrated her mind and carefully felt the current. The moment she touched the current, she felt herself enter the current and become one with it.

She looked at the purple mist in front of her and forced her way into its range. A faint white light pushed the purple mist aside.

The purple mist seemed surprised by this turn of events. After hesitating for a second, it unleashed a lightning bolt-shaped beam towards the white light. Geng Miaowan felt as if she had been struck by electricity, her whole body trembling. With a cry of "Ah!", she sat up.

Geng Miaowan stared unfocused ahead, her mind still reeling from the unexpected turn of events.

"Finally awake." A clear, crisp voice rang in her ear. She turned her head and saw an incredibly handsome man. Calling him "incredibly handsome" was no exaggeration; he was breathtakingly beautiful, with sharply defined features, and beneath his sword-like eyebrows were a pair of long, captivating peach blossom eyes—deep green irises that seemed to draw you in. Yet, his face remained expressionless, but even so, it was enough to attract the attention of any woman.

Although he was very handsome, Geng Miaowan was certain that she did not know him.

Just then, another voice rang out, "You've been asleep for ten days. This is the first time I've ever seen someone enter the Qi Refining stage while unconscious..."

Qi Refining Stage? Geng Miaowan didn't quite understand.

The man's tone carried a hint of harmless amusement, and his voice sounded familiar. She turned her head; it was Jin Mo. Seeing her looking at him, he asked, "How did you get into the Ruyi Gate?"

"Ruyi Gate?" Geng Miaowan asked in confusion. Then she remembered that the only gate she had ever entered was the one leading to the human world. Could it be that he was referring to this?

Jin Mo quickly confirmed her idea: "It's the door that leads you to the human world after you go in."

Geng Miaowan shook her head. "I don't know either. I just saw..." She suddenly felt that it wasn't a good idea to say that she saw Yama, the King of Hell, and wanted to hide, but she couldn't think of anything else for the moment, so she stopped.

"What did you see?" Jin Mo pressed, equally curious about how she had managed to enter the Ruyi Gate without having any qualifications.

"I saw that the door was open, and I was curious, so I wanted to go in and take a look. But as soon as I stepped in, the door disappeared, and I couldn't come back even if I wanted to," she said carefully.

"Do you know what happened when you fainted?"

It has been a full half month since she was brought back, and he has already learned from Bu Luoyuan about the sudden death of the Dark Cat Spirit. They even brought back the Dark Cat Spirit's body and performed an autopsy, but found nothing.

"I fainted?" Geng Miaowan suddenly exclaimed in surprise. "By the way, where is the dark cat demon? How come I wasn't eaten by her?"

Seeing that her expression didn't seem fake, Jin Mo told her what had happened that day. After he finished speaking, he asked her if anything strange had happened while she had fainted. Geng Miaowan vaguely felt that the bead in her arms had become hot the moment she fainted, and then she had no memory of it at all.

However, she didn't tell Jin Mo about this. She just shook her head at him and said that nothing special had happened. She had just suddenly fainted and then didn't know anything else.

After listening, Jin Mo shrugged at Jiao Lingfeng, indicating that she hadn't gotten any information out of him.

Jiao Lingjun said nothing, got up and left, while Le Mo said to her, "It's okay, you should rest," and then left as well.

"Huh?" Geng Miaowan watched the two leave the ward with a puzzled look on her face.

At that moment, a voice echoed in her mind, "Geng Miaowan, how should you thank me?"
