Become a Knight Across the World

Chapter 4 Going Out for a Walk

"Ha~~~~~~~"

Lin Yue opened her eyes, sat up in bed, and happily stretched.

She stayed up late watching TV series last night and slept straight until 2:30 pm.

Seeing that Lin Yue was awake, the little cricket happily jumped onto the bedside table. It hadn't dared to jump much while Lin Yue was asleep, for fear of waking her up.

Lin Yue touched it, then got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up; after washing up, she was about to order takeout as usual, but quickly put her phone down again.

She looked up at the outside world. The sky was clear and the weather was fine. She realized that she rarely went out except for going to school. After all, she used to be too weak, and girls living alone really needed to be careful. But now she didn't seem to need to be so vigilant anymore.

When a person has enough strength, their self-confidence will naturally increase.

Lin Yue was thinking of going out shopping today when her phone rang. She looked at it and saw a bank transfer. "Is my brother reading my mind? I was just thinking about shopping, and my allowance has already been transferred."

Lin Yue has an older brother named Lin Mu. When Lin Mu was ten years old, their mother gave birth to Lin Yue but died in childbirth. Two years after Lin Yue was born, their father had a new lover and abandoned the two siblings. With the help of the country, Lin Mu successfully graduated with a master's degree and got a well-paid job in another city. Lin Yue didn't know the specifics, but Lin Mu would send Lin Yue living expenses at the end of each month.

Lin Yue received the money and typed a message to her brother:

"Brother, why did you give me money today?"

After quite a while, Lin Mu finally sent a voice message: "My dear sister, why don't you... check what day it is today?"

Lin Yue was taken aback, glanced at the date, and exclaimed, "Oh, the 30th!" She scratched her head, a little embarrassed, "Sorry, sorry, I guess I've been reading too many books."

"Tch." A disdainful emoji appeared on the other end.

"I'm not going to argue with you anymore. I'm busy, so I'll stop talking now."

"Okay, brother, work hard!" Lin Yue replied. She rarely chatted with her brother each month; he seemed to be very busy every day.

Now that she had money, Lin Yue got dressed and prepared to go out. She didn't usually spend much of the money her brother gave her each month, so she saved it all. She opened the door and went out, and the little worm hopped and skipped over, seemingly wanting to go too.

"Aren't you going?" Lin Yue looked at it with a grin. "You wait for me at home, I'll go buy some oranges and be right back." The little worm shook its head, seemingly still worried.

"Oh, it's alright, let's go." Lin Yue grabbed her keys and phone, slammed the door shut, and locked the little Huangchong inside. She then went downstairs, leaving the little Huangchong staring helplessly at the closed door…

There was a pedestrian street right next to Lin Yue's house, and it was quite crowded on the weekend. After having a hearty meal at a restaurant, Lin Yue started strolling around the street, which was bustling with people.

"That's great," Lin Yue exclaimed. There was a milk tea shop right to her left, and she was indeed a bit thirsty after wandering around for so long.

She went inside, and just as she reached the door, she raised an eyebrow—quite a coincidence.

Lin Yue noticed three boys sitting together at the back of the bubble tea shop. One of them was the boy in front of her, and the other two were classmates. They were engrossed in their phones, seemingly playing a game together. Lin Yue walked over to them and observed their game.

One of the boys looked up, saw Lin Yue, and immediately showed a surprised expression.

"Hi, what a coincidence, you're here too." Lin Yue greeted them with a smile.

"Yeah, what a coincidence." The boys smiled awkwardly, but immediately looked down and became engrossed in the game again.

"What game are you playing?" Lin Yue asked curiously.

"Hey King, wanna play together?" the boy in the front row invited.

"I don't know how to play, you guys play. I'll just buy a milk tea and leave." Lin Yue shook her head and walked towards the order counter.

The three continued playing their game. "I never expected to run into Lin Yue today."

"Yeah, I heard she rarely goes out. She's a girl, safety is the most important thing. Wang Hao from the next class has been stalking her lately, hasn't he?"

The boy in front of Lin Yue, named Li Yuetian, paused when he heard this. "Everyone knows Wang Hao has been harassing Lin Yue. It's obvious who he's with."

Just then, the crystal they were guarding exploded! Li Yuetian put away his phone and looked towards the door. Lin Yue had already bought milk tea and had just left the store.

"Why don't we follow her and see? It's not safe for a girl to go out alone. Maybe some beast is nearby," Li Yuetian suggested.

"Li Yuetian, why do I feel like you're a simp?" another person named Zhao Yang teased.

"Get lost, how can this be called being a simp!" Li Yuetian retorted. "Besides, haven't you been wanting to find a reason to beat up that Wang Hao for a while now?"

Zhao Yang fell silent. He and Wang Hao had attended the same school in junior high, but were in different classes. Back then, he secretly liked a girl in his class. There seemed to be a special understanding and attraction between them; they could both sense each other's feelings. However, fate played a cruel joke on them.

One day, tragedy struck. Wang Hao took a liking to the girl and sexually assaulted her. This sudden blow plunged the girl into despair; unable to bear the humiliation and harm, she ultimately chose to end her young life by jumping off a building.

Tragically, Wang Hao's powerful family background allowed them to successfully suppress the incident, concealing the truth. Zhao Yang clearly remembers greeting the girl cheerfully and saying goodbye after school on Friday. However, when he returned to school on Monday, she was nowhere to be seen; only an empty desk remained, seemingly whispering tales of endless sorrow and regret.

This experience became an indelible wound in Zhao Yang's heart. Whenever he recalled that once vibrant and lovely girl, and her tragic end, his heart was consumed by pain and self-reproach. He felt powerless, unable to protect her, and unable to seek justice for her. This past event, like a heavy shadow, continued to loom over the depths of his soul.

Another boy, Zheng Sheng, looked at the silent Zhao Yang and patted him on the shoulder: "Alright, I agree with Li Yuetian's suggestion. The tragedy that has already happened cannot be repeated, otherwise Yuetian will definitely collapse!"

Li Yuetian sensed there was something more to his words, but didn't think much of it: "Yes, yes, protecting others is my dream!"

"Stop acting like a teenager!" Zhao Yang stood up as well. "Of course we're going. Zheng Sheng is right. Anyway, the three of us usually just play games when we go out. We're just killing time. If we really see Wang Hao today, I'll kick him to death."

"Hurry up and follow her, she's going to get far away." The three of them quickly got up and walked out of the store. "By the way, let me tell you, Lin Yue is so pretty, she'd definitely be a hit if she cosplayed a game character."

Who are you cosplaying as?

"HT within the primordial spirit!"

"Uh, this..."

...

The three of them looked and, to their surprise, saw that there were indeed two men dressed in black, acting suspiciously, following behind her.

The three men exchanged glances: "Damn, there really is a pervert!"

...

Lin Yue had noticed the two people behind her, but since this was a busy urban area with no sparsely populated places, she decided to take a taxi to the suburbs! If they followed, then sorry, they would either be seriously injured or killed! If they didn't follow, it was fine; she could try her luck in the dangerous forest outside the suburbs and see if there were any monsters for her to practice on!

Lin Yue hailed a taxi, and when it arrived, she got in. Seeing this, one of the two men in black walked to the side and took out his phone to make a call, while the other flagged down another taxi.

Seeing this, Li Yuetian quickly said to the two of them, "You two hurry up and get into that car, tell them you're sharing a ride, stall that person, I'm going to check on the other one!"

"But you're all alone..."

"Hurry, hurry, he's almost on the bus!"

Seeing this, the two rushed over, grabbed the car door, and squeezed onto the vehicle. Li Yuetian, seeing this, walked towards the man in black who had gone to the public restroom to make a phone call.

The man in black went into the restroom and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly, and a man's voice came from the other end: "How is it?"

"Boss, the girl took a taxi and left. Yi has already followed her."

"Very good, hurry up and drive to meet up with Yi, knock that girl unconscious and bring her here! Remember, don't touch her, hand her over to me intact, you'll all get your share later." On the other end of the phone, Wang Yan couldn't hide the smile on his lips, but still tried to remain calm as he gave the order.

"Good boss!"

Wang Yan hung up the phone, a greedy smile playing on his lips. "Sorry, Wang Hao, I'll have to try this little daisy first!" His voice was filled with undisguised smugness, as if he had already tasted the "delicacy" he desired.

The man in black put away his phone, only to notice a... knight leaning against the toilet door?

The knight's eyes are yellow, like two dazzling yellow gems, and his body is covered with lines resembling blood vessels. There is a device resembling a mobile phone on his belt. His main body is silver-white, as if radiating a chilling light.

Although the man in black did not recognize the rider, since he had a belt, he must be a newly appeared Kamen Rider.

"Who was the person you were talking to on the phone? Why were you following that girl?" the knight asked coldly, his voice sounding as if it came from the deepest hell, sending chills down one's spine.

"This...this...Knight...my lord." The man in black was terrified, cold sweat pouring down his back, his body trembling like a candle in the wind. "I...I don't know what you're talking about, sir?"

"Hmph!" The knight snorted coldly, flipping his hand to pull out a lightsaber. The lightsaber flashed with dazzling light, like the scythe of death, radiating endless pressure. "Looks like you need me to help you recall some physics!"

The man in black inwardly cursed, knowing he was doomed. If he didn't do something, he feared he wouldn't leave this place alive. With that thought, he gritted his teeth and decided to take a gamble. He reached into his robes, pulled out a sharp dagger, and thrust it fiercely at the knight before him.

However, this knight was clearly no ordinary man. Just as the dagger was about to pierce him, the knight's right hand shot out like lightning, firmly grasping the tip of the dagger. Then, with a slight exertion, a crisp "crack" was heard, and the incredibly hard dagger was crushed into pieces.

"I'll talk, I'll talk." Now, the man in black was certain that the person in front of him was definitely a real knight and not a cosplayer. "My boss is Wang Yan, the boss of Tianding Group! Please, sir, spare me!" The man in black was so frightened that his legs went weak, and he knelt on the ground with his hands raised.

Having received the answer, the knight controlled his power and gently knocked the man in black unconscious.

“Wang Yan…” the knight murmured the name, his fist clenching slightly. “I see.” The knight seemed to understand something and walked out of the restroom.

...

The two men who had hopped into the taxi opened the back doors on either side and stared at the man in black sitting in the back.

"Where are you going?" the driver asked.

"Follow that taxi in front!" the three said in unison.

The man in black looked at the two of them with some curiosity, but before he could say anything, the driver suddenly turned the key and the car turned off.

The three of them were completely dumbfounded. "Uncle driver, what are you doing?" Zhao Yang asked tremblingly.

The driver slowly turned his head, a short baton already gripped tightly in his hand, his eyes fierce as if he wanted to devour someone: "I knew you three thugs were up to no good. I saw it myself just now, a young girl got into that taxi up ahead! In broad daylight, under the clear sun and bright moon, someone actually did such a heinous thing. Today I will act on behalf of heaven and teach you despicable bastards a lesson!"

"No, no! Help!!!" Zhao Yang and Zheng Sheng were so frightened by these words that they jumped out of the car like stray dogs, quickly opening the left and right doors and scrambling out, closing the doors behind them.

The man in black remained calm and composed, but when he saw the driver's fierce face, the scar on his face, and the short stick in his hand, he finally panicked.

"Um..." The man in black tentatively reached for the doorknob, "Is it too late for me to leave now?"

With a click, the door... locked.
