Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2

Chapter 9 Forced to Help

I've managed to survive by sheer luck, but I'm covered in pepper powder and look incredibly pathetic. If I don't wash myself with some water soon, I'll turn into a piece of cured meat.

There happened to be a fish tank on a table nearby, so the little black spider pulled me toward the fish tank. At least for now, I had to save my life.

I felt like I was bait for fishing, entangled in the spider silk and thrown in by the little black fish. It was thrown directly into the fish tank, and the fish tank immediately turned red as soon as I went in.

Just a moment ago it was clear water, but now it has turned into a bowl of spicy soup. Now that I'm soaking in the spicy soup, I feel even more uncomfortable.

"Pull me up quickly!" I shouted anxiously from the water.

"Hmm," the little black dog immediately pulled me out after hearing my shout.

When I came out, I felt like I had lost half my life. I lay down on the table, completely exhausted. Why am I so unlucky? I just came with Xiao Hei to check on the situation and see if we could save Da Fu.

Why do I have to encounter so many problems? Can't I just live a normal life?

I lay on the table, complaining and feeling very depressed.

Thinking of Dafu, I realized that I had been so focused on escaping that I hadn't seen him at all. So I quickly and laboriously got up and looked around.

I wanted to see where Dafu was, but to my dismay, I could barely see it.

No way, Dafu was brought here, how could he be gone? I looked around in frustration, but still couldn't find any trace of Dafu.

Were they taken into a room?

We are currently in a living room. There is a fish tank on the table, but we don't know where the fish went. The surrounding conditions are also terrible.

Everything was a mess, and you could barely see anything around you at a glance.

"Little Black, help me find that maggot that's been trapped." I said with great difficulty, as Little Black was the only one I could rely on now.

"Okay." Little Black agreed and spat out a spider silk, then flew upside down.

They disappeared from our sight in the blink of an eye, heading out to gather information.

Now it's just me and the Black Widow left here.

"Hey, Fatty, how did you two meet? That Blackie seems to respect you quite a bit. What special skills do you have?" the Black Widow asked me curiously.

"That's how we met," I said with great difficulty. I was so tired that I really didn't want to talk anymore.

"So you mean you're not going to tell me?" the Black Widow asked, clearly annoyed.

"It's not that I don't want to say anything, it's just that I really have nothing to say," I said, feeling extremely frustrated.

I had just finished speaking when I was bound by spider silk and suspended in mid-air under the table.

"Ah... what are you doing?" I screamed desperately in the air. What did this mean? Everything was fine just now, how did I suddenly fall into the air?

"You actually dared to refuse me? The only one who dares to refuse me now that I'm still alive is Little Black. Do you think you're confident you'll be the second one?" the Black Widow said with a wicked smile.

"I...I don't know what you want me to say," I said with great difficulty in mid-air.

"Tell me, how did you two meet? How come he listens to you so much?" the Black Widow said, her voice filled with jealousy.

Holy crap, honestly, I only knew that little black guy, there's really nothing special about it. As for why he helped me, I just helped him answer two questions correctly (explained at the end of The Maggot Transformation). How was I supposed to know why he was so obedient?

I almost cried. What am I supposed to say?

"Are you going to talk or not? Believe me or not, I'll throw you down and kill you." The Black Widow said angrily.

"I, I believe, I believe, okay?" I said uncomfortably in mid-air, the worst part being that I was upside down, which made it even more uncomfortable.

"Then tell me quickly." The Black Widow's tone finally softened a bit.

"Then you have to pull me up first," I said, feeling quite annoyed.

No wonder Xiao Hei disagreed. With that kind of temper, no one would agree. I would never agree, even if you killed me.

The Black Widow finally pulled me up slowly. Once up, she asked anxiously, "Tell me quickly, why is Little Black so nice to you? Is there something between you two?"

Seriously, can't we think of something nice? He's a spider, I'm a maggot, what could we possibly have? Like, maybe we're both genitals damaged? What kind of animals are these? Are all animals these days so unreliable?

I was almost in tears, and said with great grievance, "I really don't know why Little Black was so obedient to me. I just helped Little Black answer two questions, and then the old spider promised not to use Little Black as a negative example anymore."

I can only tell the truth now, otherwise I really wouldn't know that Black Widow did something I couldn't have imagined that would make me suffer so much.

"No wonder," the Black Widow said, as if she had just realized something.

"No wonder what?" I asked, quite curious.

"It's none of your business, but speaking of which, what two questions did you answer that made that stubborn old man let you go?" the Black Widow asked, puzzled.

"Actually, it's nothing much. One question was about a bear whose chest fell into a hole, and I had to answer what color it was. Another question was about calculating the psychological area," I replied casually.

"You answered all the questions correctly?" The Black Widow looked at me with great curiosity, as if she were seeing me for the first time.

"Yes, I just happened to know the answers to those two questions. I really wouldn't know the answers to the other questions," I said modestly.

"No wonder Little Black is so good to you, it seems that's the reason." The Black Widow said very seriously.

"What exactly happened? Can you tell me?" I asked, very curious.

"Get out of here. Knowing too much won't do you any good. Sometimes, the less you know, the longer you might live," the Black Widow said with disdain.

I never imagined that Black Widow would quote such a classic line from an old man. Where did she learn that from?

Seeing that I couldn't get any more information from her, I simply stopped asking. Anyway, her attitude towards me wasn't very good, and I didn't want to make things awkward for myself.

I lay down on the table to rest, waiting for the little black spider to arrive, hoping it would bring me good news.

As I rested, I looked around, and just then I saw a gecko slowly crawl out from under the table, right behind the Black Widow, practically inches away...
