Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2

Chapter 32 Words may not say it, but the body tells the truth

Just after the storm stopped, we thought we had finally survived, but to our surprise, a frog appeared at that moment.

Just when I thought I was doomed, I was surprised to find that the frog wasn't there to eat us, but to go on a date, and was rejected at that.

But the plot clearly doesn't follow the usual formula; the frog turns out to be a prince, and all the rice paddies in the surrounding area belong to that frog prince.

No wonder that frog prince could be so willful, refusing to hibernate and running out to pick up girls.

But to our surprise, the frog prince was not hurt by the rejection. Instead, he acted like a domineering CEO, performing a three-part love story of wall slamming, forceful kissing, and sex.

In the very end, he actually kissed the female frog.

Looking at this scene, I was internally screaming "fuck you!" How could this be?

That kiss was earth-shattering. Whether it was their love that truly moved the heavens or the clearing sky after the rain, a rainbow even appeared at sunset. From our angle, they looked like a pair of celestial beings.

Anyway, my worldview has been overturned more than once or twice. Now I realize that I no longer have a worldview.

Is this okay?

Just as I was surprised, the two frogs finally let go. Something might happen to me in the future, like the female frog Zhang Cuihua slapping the frog prince Zhao Tiezhu and calling him a beast.

But no…

Time seemed to stand still, and the two frogs remained in that strange posture, staring at each other.

"At the very least, they say no, but their bodies tell a different story," the frog prince said with a wicked grin.

Holy crap, why do these lines sound so familiar? Where have I heard them before? But I can't quite place them. What are these two frogs up to?

Can't we just get on our way? Forget about romance, we need to get going. Don't you know it's getting dark?

I thought to myself with utter contempt, I was practically jumping up and down, I was so angry, was this person just showing off their love?

Don't they know that showing off your love will lead to a quick breakup?

"How annoying," said the female frog, Zhang Cuihua, in a very coquettish tone.

"Hahaha, come on, I'll show you something good. I want not only your body, but also your heart. Now let me show you what I've prepared for you to win your heart," said the Frog Prince Zhao Tiezhu smugly.

"Mmm," the female frog, Zhang Cuihua, nodded shyly.

Where's my integrity? Where's my integrity? What happened to my integrity? I was so determined to resist, and then I was conquered by a kiss?

As the two frogs hopped away, I couldn't help but feel a surge of disdain. How utterly shameless! One kiss and they're gone?

"That's really impressive. It seems the legend is true." I was still inwardly looking down on that shameless frog Zhang Cuihua when the soldier next to me said with great admiration.

"What's so amazing? What's the legend?" I asked curiously after hearing the soldier's exclamation.

"The legend of the true love's kiss," the soldier explained.

"True love's kiss? What the heck?" I asked, quite puzzled.

"The legend goes that a long, long time ago," the soldier said after a moment's thought.

Good grief, if you're just telling a story, why do you always add "a long, long time ago"? How long ago is that? Some ancient era?

"There's a legend among frogs that if you receive a true love's kiss, you'll turn into a real prince," the soldier explained slowly.

Holy crap, isn't that the Frog Prince fairy tale? Besides, that's from abroad, okay? When did it become a country bumpkin Frog Prince story?

"But that's not the real reason. Legend has it that anyone who possesses the kiss of true love can awaken even someone who has slept for thousands of years." The soldier said with longing, as if that myth was his own story.

Good heavens, you mean Sleeping Beauty? That's from abroad, how did it get mixed up with country frogs?

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with it at all, does it? Who said it has anything to do with frogs in the countryside? Huh?

"So it's not really a big deal that a kiss of true love could move a little female frog like Zhang Cuihua," the soldier said casually.

I'm practically speechless! Where is that supposed to be a kiss of true love? Where is that supposed to be part of the frog legend? That's a foreign fairy tale, okay? How did that frog get to copy it?

Isn't this just as shameless as South Korea claiming that Confucius, the Eight Trigrams, and even the Dragon Boat Festival are their own?

I thought only South Korea was shameless, but these country bumpkins are shameless too. Where's their integrity? Where's their bottom line?

When I heard this, I almost cried. What is all this nonsense?

I couldn't listen to any more of this. I wasn't interested in any of their stories anymore. All I wanted was to get back to the main group as soon as possible.

"Alright, alright, I'm not interested in the frog story. I just want to get back to the main force as soon as possible. Let's hurry up and catch up with the main force, shall we?" I quickly interrupted the soldier.

After listening to my words, the soldier looked around before saying, "Well, the rain has stopped. Although there's still a light drizzle, it won't affect our journey. Let's hurry back to the Queen's side."

So, led by that soldier, we continued climbing toward the crooked tree.

But after walking a few steps, I realized that Dafu hadn't followed. I quickly turned around and saw Dafu staring blankly in the direction the frog had disappeared.

"Dafu, what are you still looking at? Hurry up, it might rain again soon!" I shouted anxiously from ahead.

"Huh? Oh, okay, coming." Dafu turned around from the direction the frog disappeared and hurried over.

Because the rain had stopped, the puddle on the ground had disappeared, so we were able to move forward in that direction.

A moment later, Dafu crawled up to my side and asked curiously, "One and a half cents?"

"Ok?"

"Do you think that true love's kiss was real?" Dafu asked curiously.

"How could that be? That's just a fairy tale. You're overthinking it," I said dismissively.

"But rainbows appeared during the True Love's Kiss," Daifuku said, still unwilling to give up.

"You wouldn't understand even if I explained. Anyway, it's not true. Don't overthink it, let's get going." I was too lazy to explain and continued on my way with Brother Bing.

"Oh." Dafu followed behind us, looking a little downcast.

We crawled slowly toward the queen's throne, hoping nothing would go wrong along the way...
