Infinite: Dawn Game

Ward 119 is located at the far end of the fourth-floor corridor. The door is a white metal door that looks very elegant. At this moment, the door is slightly open, and the inside seems to be dark.

Looking at the sensor lights on the ceiling above the corridor and the surveillance camera near the elevator on the opposite side of the corridor, Yu Shijiu had no doubt that the lights here would likely be damaged at night.

After all, the windows on the fourth-floor corridor are just ordinary windows used for ventilation at the ends of the corridors on both sides.

Yu Shijiu didn't linger. After surveying the fourth-floor corridor, he pushed open the ward door. A crisp "creak" echoed through the quiet corridor, and it seemed as if someone was walking inside one of the wards.

Yu Shijiu seemed not to hear. He slowly walked into the ward, and as he turned to close the door, he exchanged a glance with the person in the ward across the street who had opened the door at some point.

She was a girl who looked quite young, probably around eight or nine years old, wearing a blue striped hospital gown. She had delicate features, fair skin, and long hair that reached her waist.

At this moment, the girl seemed a little curious about the "neighbor" across the way. Her head, hidden behind half of the door, tilted slightly, and she blinked.

Yu Shijiu stopped closing the door and waved with a smile:

Hello, little sister.

The boy's voice was clear and sweet, a voice that children really liked.

"Want to come visit me?"

The little girl shrank back, feeling both wanting to go and curious, constantly walking back and forth.

Yu Shijiu was very patient. He casually looked around at the hospital room doors, which showed no signs of opening, and waited for the little girl to come over on her own.

It wasn't until the little girl finally made up her mind to push open the door and come out that Yu Shijiu noticed she was still tightly clutching a teddy bear that looked very worn out.

The teddy bear's fur was wet and sticky, its floral dress had faded from washing, and one of its eyes was half-fallen off, drooping on its head, making it look somewhat eerie at first glance.

Yu Shijiu, however, seemed oblivious and continued to beckon the little girl over:

"Isn't it boring?"

Yu Shijiu sighed and said, "Brother is also bored and wants to make a friend to chat with."

The little girl blinked, hugged her teddy bear, and approached Yu Shijiu's hospital room, her voice timid:

"Xuexue is bored too," the little girl named Xuexue pouted, looking up at the boy in front of her.

"No one on the fourth floor came out to play with Xuexue."

Yu Shijiu reached out and touched Xuexue's hair, seemingly oblivious to the fact that her hair was completely different from human hair, and said with a grin:

"If Xuexue gets bored in the future, she can come and play with her brother, okay?"

Xuexue was clearly very happy; she nodded excitedly, and the bruised teddy bear in her arms seemed happy too.

"Yeah!"

Xuexue tiptoed and twirled around, her long, glossy black hair flowing softly with the movement, gentle and docile.

Yu Shijiu noticed the red hair clip clipped to the back of Xuexue's hair.

It was a red hair clip shaped like a snowflake. It was very pretty and shimmered under the corridor lights. After looking at it for a while, the paint on the hair clip seemed to have a flowing illusion.

Yu Shijiu narrowed his eyes slightly.

He seemed to have seen this hair clip somewhere before...

"That way, Mom won't have to worry about Xuexue being bored by herself anymore."

Xuexue was still excitedly talking to herself. She spun around a few times, seemed a little dizzy, and staggered as she grabbed Yu Shijiu's clothes, laughing as she said:

"Brother, will you always play with me?"

As soon as Xuexue finished speaking, the lights in the corridor seemed to flicker, casting a dim and eerie light on the two of them, making Xuexue's face look somewhat sinister.

Yu Shijiu seemed oblivious to the sudden drop in temperature around him, and he smiled as he looked down:

"Of course, do you want to come in and play with your brother?"

The players watching this scene from outside the instance had complicated expressions. "What is he doing? Luring a monster into his own hospital room?"

"They probably want to get some clues from the monsters, since the specific walkthrough for this dungeon hasn't been revealed yet?"

"How strange, isn't this newcomer afraid? This little girl is clearly not human."

In the game, Yu Shijiu had no idea that so many people were betting on him being the first to die, and continued to lure the little girl into his hospital room.

"Shall we come in?"

As he spoke, Yu Shijiu looked up at the motionless surveillance camera in the corner of the ceiling at the end of the corridor, then continued to entice the hesitant little girl.

“Well… okay,” Xuexue agreed to Yu Shijiu’s request to play with her. Just as she was about to reach out, the door to the room at the end of the corridor not far away was suddenly pushed open violently.

Xuexue was startled and her face turned pale.

As the high heels clattered, Xue Yan's angry voice followed:

"Snow Snow!"

Xuexue shrank back, watching Xue Yan walk quickly towards her. She forcefully shook off Yu Shijiu's hand and took several steps back.

Yu Shijiu, being very sensible, also stepped back, leaning against the ward door and smiling as Xue Yan, who was clearly in a state of rage, walked in.

When Xue Yan saw Yu Shijiu, her expression changed. She realized that the boy in front of her might complain about her, and the anger on Xue Yan's face subsided slightly.

But that doesn't mean Xue Yan will let anyone off the hook. She first bent down and viciously pinched Xue Xue's cheek, only letting go when the latter was almost in tears.

"Didn't I say not to disturb the other patients' rest?!"

The entire corridor was filled with Xue Yan's sharp, questioning voice.

Xuexue, her eyes blurry with tears, looked at Xue Yan's contorted face in front of her, and burst into tears, sobbing as she began to apologize:

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, Nurse! I... I didn't mean to, Xuexue was just so bored—"

Before she could finish speaking, Xue Yan reached out to hit Xue Xue on the head, but was immediately stopped by a hand.

Yu Shijiu's lips curled into a smile, and he narrowed his eyes, saying meaningfully:

"So, the head nurse can hit patients at will?"

"This is the first time I've ever seen a sanatorium like this."

Perhaps not expecting Yu Shijiu to intervene, both Xue Yan and Xue Xue were taken aback.

Xue Yan snorted coldly, her sinister gaze like a knife, scraping Yu Shijiu more than once.

"It won't happen again."
