Infinite: Dawn Game

Chapter 119 Meet

Yu Shijiu was telling the truth.

After washing the dishes, the old lady acted like a robot who had to rest when it was time. She said a few words and then hunched over and walked to the low mud house on the other side, saying that she was going to sleep.

Yu Shijiu naturally had no reason to stop them, and sat with Feifei in the courtyard to admire the moon.

"Moon-watching?"

Lin Feng's lips twitched. She looked up at the bright full moon hanging in the night sky... To be honest, the moon really was quite round, so it seemed like there was nothing wrong with moon gazing.

But that's not reality either—

“Yes,” Yu Shijiu said earnestly, “The moon is so beautiful tonight, what’s wrong with me admiring it for a while?”

As she spoke, she patted Feifei's head and said, "Don't you agree, Feifei?"

Fatty nodded helplessly, then meowed towards the moon, sounding like a cat howling in the moonlight.

Lin Feng's expression was complicated: "...No problem, you're right."

Is it really okay for me to team up with Yu Shijiu...? He seems even more confused now than before...

“But I think,” Lin Feng forced a turn in her increasingly distorted thoughts, clearing her throat as she spoke:

"It would be better if we waited until we had confirmed all the clues before enjoying the moon. During our afternoon break, I encountered..."

Lin Feng briefly and quickly recounted what had happened to her alone, her tone very serious:

"I suspect that the old people in Changsheng Village are draining our life force."

Lin Feng expected Yu Shijiu to show surprise, but instead saw that the boy's expression remained completely unchanged; he simply smiled lightly.

"guessed."

Yu Shijiu said, "Sister, why don't you look down at your feet?"

Lin Feng was slightly taken aback. She immediately lowered her head, and her experience of completing the game multiple times made her realize something. Her face instantly turned pale.

What's wrong with my feet?

Lin Feng froze on the spot after quickly taking off her shoes.

With her shoes and socks removed, her almost completely aged feet were exposed without any cover. Lin Feng looked at the wrinkled lines on her feet and her breath caught in her throat for several seconds.

“Sister, you’ve aged much more than me,” Yu Shijiu said softly, looking with interest at Lin Feng’s wrinkled feet, which now resembled weathered tree bark.

"Is it because your blood was eaten by those earthworms?"

Lin Feng slowly closed her eyes, put her shoes and socks back on, and forced herself to calm down from her panic.

"It should be," Lin Feng said, patting non-existent dust off her hands and trying to remain calm as she offered her suggestion:

"How about we go to the ancestral hall first?"

"of course can."

Yu Shijiu readily agreed, and quite quickly:

"I also wanted to see if the ancestral hall would be very different at night compared to during the day."

It would be even better if we could see that giant earthworm again.

Thinking of this, Yu Shijiu glanced at the chubby creature quietly licking its fur beside her, hesitated for a few seconds, and said:

"Feifei, you don't seem to have slept much during the day. How about my sister and I go to the ancestral hall and you rest here with Grandma for a while?"

Fatty: "..."

It stared coldly at Yu Shijiu with its eerie green eyes for a long time, but the boy just smiled back at it, seemingly completely unaware that what he had said was wrong.

Fatty fell silent once again.

It meowed, and just as it was about to scold Yu Shijiu, it saw Lin Feng waiting quietly beside it.

As if suddenly remembering something, it slowly closed its wide-open mouth, walked to Lin Feng's side, tugged at the other's clothes, and barked a few times in Yu Shijiu's direction as the latter lowered his head.

Please keep an eye on this troublesome guy!

Lin Feng: "..."

For some reason, she felt she saw worry and entrustment for Yu Shijiu in Feifei's eyes. After a moment of surprise, she nodded very seriously:

"I understand, don't worry."

Lin Feng said.

Feifei was finally relieved.

Yu Shijiu, on the other hand, felt a little uncomfortable. He looked at the fat paws that were resting on Lin Feng's clothes and was unhappy.

“You are my cat,” Yu Shijiu reminded him, “Don’t forget.”

Fatty: "..."

It turned its head and ran towards Yu Shijiu, rolled its eyes in a very human-like manner, and then opened its mouth—

She gently bit Yu Shijiu's hand.

The slight pain on the back of his hand made Yu Shijiu look down instantly. He looked down at the red marks on the back of his hand where the two sharp teeth of the fat man had bitten him, and laughed again.

After comforting Yu Shijiu, Feifei seemed to sigh, glanced back at Yu Shijiu and Lin Feng one last time, and then walked towards the house, looking back every few steps.

It was indeed very tired and sleepy.

Even though the food was pretty good, Fatty felt a bit tired after spending the whole day on high alert, constantly observing his surroundings.

With two more days to go, Feifei felt she needed to get some rest.

When Feifei finally ran into the house, she looked back with some worry and saw Yu Shijiu and Lin Feng still in the yard.

Fatty: "...Meow meow meow meow!!!"

Why aren't you leaving? Are you staying to sleep with us?!

Upon receiving Fei Fei's emotional status update, Yu Shijiu was very excited. He waved to Fei Fei, who was standing motionless by the door:

"Go to sleep, go to sleep! When you wake up, we'll have found plenty of clues!"

Fatty: "..."

Its meows immediately softened considerably.

"Meow meow meow~"

Hurry up and leave, you're acting like you're sick, still clinging to me like that~

Although he seemed disgusted, Fatty's entire cat face was actually filled with an unusually gentle emotion.

Completely unaware that he was being called "sick," Yu Shijiu thought that Feifei was saying goodbye to him and waved back happily.

"We'll be back soon!"

After leaving behind that one sentence, Yu Shijiu walked out of the courtyard under Lin Feng's repeated urging and disappeared into the somewhat dim darkness of Changsheng Village.

Fatty, still standing at the doorway, stared intently in the direction the two had disappeared. After licking his fur for a while, he gracefully strode into the house.

It even used its fluffy, flexible tail to close the door.

The cat's eyes were bright in the darkness. It quickly headed towards the bed where Yu Shijiu had slept that afternoon, and with a little effort, pounced on the open space next to the bed.

The soft bed made Fatty snore comfortably, and then he slowly closed his eyes.

Just as Feifei was half asleep, she heard the sound of a door being pushed open in the courtyard.

Fatty's eyes widened instantly and he raised his head.

The fluffy head perked up warily in the darkness. When the faint footsteps sounded in the yard, Fatty silently jumped off the bed and slowly approached the tiny window in the dark.

Outside the window, a short figure paced back and forth in the courtyard, finally stopping in the very center and turning to look at the house where Fatty was.
