Infinite: Dawn Game

Chapter 1 Surrounded

"Yu Shijiu! Stop! You're surrounded!"

Late at night, accompanied by the crackling sound of shattering glass, police officers with pistols stood guard beneath a luxurious and elegant villa, as if facing a formidable enemy.

After seeing the situation on the second floor, the police officers' urgent shouts came to an abrupt halt, like ducks being choked.

On the second floor of the villa, in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, a teenager dragging a half-dead man was using an axe to slowly smash the glass of the window.

Because he was so thin, the boy's clothes seemed to flutter in the wind, and his long, uncut, medium-length black hair was scattered on the sides of his face, with the ends hanging down to his shoulders.

The shards of glass, already broken by the boy, fell like snowflakes, causing the police officers who were quite close to instinctively take a few steps back, but not daring to stray too far.

After all, the hostage in the hands of that boy named Yu Shijiu was still alive.

"police officer,"

Yu Shijiu, tapping on the glass with great interest, lowered his head, a faint smile appearing on his gaunt face. He blinked, his cat-like pupils gleaming with amber light under the lamp.

"Don't come any closer!"

Yu Shijiu tapped the glass next to him with a smile, completely unconcerned that the flying glass shards would cut his face.

"Otherwise, he might have died even faster."

Yu Shijiu said.

"Yu Shijiu!"

The leading male police officer clearly recognized him. He looked at the boy with a complicated expression, his tone one of disappointment and impatience:

"Do you know what you're doing? You're committing a crime! Murder! You know that's punishable by death!"

The male police officer tightened his grip on the gun, but relaxed it when he saw the man at the boy's feet, whose life was hanging in the balance.

"Execution?"

Yu Shijiu pointed at himself with the back of the axe in surprise, "Why?"

The male police officer gritted his teeth: "Murderers must pay with their lives!"

In response to the male police officer's words, Yu Shijiu tilted her head and smiled, saying:

“But I’m mentally ill, Officer Fang.”

The male police officer gripped his gun tightly. A female police officer quickly ran up behind him, wiped the sweat from her brow, and said rapidly:

"They told us to resolve this quickly."

The policewoman swallowed hard, glancing at the boy still smashing the windowpane, and whispered:

“Team Leader Fang, I suspect that Yu Shijiu deliberately chose this time to kill Liang Guodong.”

The deliberate choice of this time slot is far too obvious, and...

The officer in charge clearly knew more than the other policemen. After a few seconds of silence, he looked up again, seemingly having made up his mind, and whispered the order:

"Watch my hand gestures. If he still doesn't listen..."

The squad member closed his eyes briefly, his voice hoarse: "Kill on the spot."

The policewoman's eyes widened instantly, and she exclaimed, "Squad Leader Fang! He—"

Fang Dui simply shook his head without explaining, then looked up again and met Yu Shijiu's gaze from the floor-to-ceiling window on the second floor.

"Shi Jiu," the team leader deliberately lowered his voice considerably:

"Listen to me, okay? Tell me what's wrong. Your father hasn't done anything wrong, has he?"

Yu Shijiu has always had excellent hearing. He looked down at the formation below, thinking he hadn't heard it, and a mocking smile gradually crept onto his lips.

They put on a grand and righteous front, but what about getting those police officers lurking in the shadows to put down their guns?

"is it?"

Yu Shijiu stopped knocking on the glass. Under the watchful eyes of the police, he squatted down, turned the unconscious man over, and slapped him several times.

The force was so great that it made the eyelids of the police officers below twitch.

"Wake up,"

Yu Shijiu looked at the man on the ground whose nose she had punched, his disgust undisguised:

"What are you pretending to be dead for? If you don't wake up soon, your head and body will be separated."

The police officers on the second floor, who were keeping a close watch: "..."

The man pretending to be dead on the ground was also quite frightened. He acted as if he had just regained consciousness, his face as pale as paper, staring in terror at the boy crouching in front of him, trying his best to control his tone and call out to him gently:

"Shi Jiu..."

Snapped--

"Don't call me by my name, it's disgusting."

Upon hearing this, Yu Shijiu slapped him again, the sharp blade of the axe cutting into the man's neck, blood slowly flowing out along the blade.

The man trembled violently. The stinging pain in his neck made his feigned gentleness vanish instantly, and his eyes revealed undisguised fear and hatred.

"You unfilial son! I am your father!"

How dare he?! How dare he?! He is his father, what son would dare to treat his own father like this?! This is patricide!

The man's eyes were red, and his bound hands and feet twisted violently, but he dared not move again when Yu Shijiu cut the axe into his flesh a few more times.

Father?

Yu Shijiu looked as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world, his thin, unrecognizable face revealing a hint of sarcasm and mockery:

"What father would send his own son to a mental hospital?"

“Father,” Yu Shijiu’s voice was very pleasant, a sweet and cloying voice that sounded like he was being coquettish.

Do you know what kind of life I had in the mental hospital?

Yu Shijiu chuckled twice, and fine beads of blood oozed from the cuts on her cheek caused by shards of glass.

"No, that's not right. I think you must know, otherwise why would you keep extending my hospital fees year after year?"

If it weren't for this "father" in front of him paying his renewal fees, he might have been able to get out of the mental hospital much earlier.

After all, Yu Shijiu did not have any mental illness before entering the mental hospital. Not to mention that the annual "treatment fee" of this mental hospital is astronomical. Who would care where a "madman" goes if there is no money?

The man clearly realized something; his hands, bound behind his back, twitched spasmodically, but he swallowed back the insults.

"I, I don't know,"

He forced a smile that was more like a grimace, distorting his otherwise handsome face, which was still quite good-looking despite being nearing middle age, into a somewhat unreal expression.

“I just wanted you to have a better time in there, really. I never imagined they would mistreat you. They're doctors, you know. I really didn't know they would do those things…”

The man kept rambling on, reflecting on his actions one sentence after another, until his voice grew softer and softer, and tears and snot smeared his face, completely ruining his once handsome face.

Yu Shijiu remained silent, the smile on her face gradually fading as the man "reflected," finally settling on a blank expression.

The police officers below listened to the man's words, exchanging bewildered glances but daring not to utter a single word.

Only when the policewoman approached and asked if they wanted to fire did the squad close their eyes and make a gesture to stop temporarily.

"Wait a minute."

The squad leader seemed to have thought of something, and he repeated in a low voice, "Wait a minute."

In front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Yu Shijiu waited quietly for about five minutes until the man had nothing to say and his mouth was dry before he spoke.

"Finished?"
