Shen Nanqiao retreated in a panic, unsure of what he was going to do.

Song Shiyuan choked up, unsure how to respond.

The phone went dead after thirty-three seconds; the other end had hung up.

Song Shiyuan believed that their relationship would get better and better.

His phone was carelessly tossed on the table. A sliver of reason remained, preventing Song Shiyuan from erupting in fury; his silence was terrifying.

Perhaps, for some people, things just don't work out.
