Defeat the system! Kiss my little monster!

Chapter 8 The Sensation of Pain

But no matter what, now that the male lead Sheng Shixian is in his hands, Pei Du hasn't come away empty-handed.

This guy has a lot of yang energy; keeping him around will probably ward off a lot of evil spirits.

He might even be able to glean some yang energy from him. Pei Du didn't seem to care at all. He glanced at Sheng Shixian's body again before looking away.

Qi Sheng's surgery on Sheng Shixian lasted for half an hour. By the time all the wounds, big and small, were bandaged, it was nearly 2:30.

Pei Du paid Qi Sheng his wages before Qi Sheng picked up his medical kit and prepared to leave.

“If this happens again, your salary will at least triple.” Qi Sheng held up three fingers to Pei Du.

Pei Du was rolling in money. Seeing this, he casually replied with a couple of words and prepared to close the door.

"You really won't let me see your wound?" Qi Sheng turned to look at Pei Du's wrist. "The saliva of a different species can be contagious."

Pei Du didn't seem to care: "It's alright, I'll go to the lab for testing myself later."

"Alright." Qi Sheng didn't ask any more questions. He packed his things, slung his first-aid kit over his shoulder, and walked out.

It was already two or three in the morning, and it was pitch black outside. The darkness of the night was unfathomable. Pei Du watched Qi Sheng walk towards his car parked at the intersection and casually close the gate.

Sheng Shixian was still lying on the sofa, his bloodstains falling on it, staining the blanket darker and more discolored.

Pei Du approached him. Sheng Shixian was still unconscious, with bandages wrapped around his body in four or five places. His right leg, which had been twisted and deformed, had returned to its normal shape.

Pei Du looked down at him for a few seconds, then squatted down and took out several new handcuffs and shackles from the drawer.

He handcuffed Sheng Shixian's wrists and ankles, fixed the extended iron chains to the corner of the table, and only stood up after confirming the distance.

Sheng Shixian seemed to sense this; he frowned and murmured, "No..."

Pei Du was originally going to put a gag on him as well, but when he heard Sheng Shixian's words, he paused.

Thinking back to Sheng Shixian's former glory, the contrast with her current situation is indeed disheartening.

"Alright." Pei Du put down the gag, took a new tie, pinched Sheng Shixian's chin to make him open his mouth, and then tied a knot around the back of his head again.

Under the bright light, Pei Du looked at Sheng Shixian's teeth.

His teeth seemed to have grown sharper than before. On the black market, his teeth were still roughly human-shaped, but now they were sharp and thin. Pei Du touched them with his thumb and could feel the pain of his skin being pierced.

The alienation of Sheng Shixian continues.

Pei Du withdrew his hand, went upstairs to get a blanket, and covered Sheng Shixian with it.

Sheng Shixian only showed the upper half of his face, with dark purple bruises under his eyes. Pei Du didn't notice anything unusual. He walked around downstairs, turned off the lights, and went upstairs.

The black book was still on Pei Du's bedside table. Pei Du casually flipped through a few pages and put it in the drawer.

"Aren't you going to watch it?" asked the person floating leisurely in the air.

"I'm not watching anymore, I'll watch it tomorrow." Pei Du wrapped himself in the blanket, his mind especially tired. "Let's turn off the lights."

To live a life of ignominy: "..."

It withdrew all its blue light, and the entire room instantly went dark.

*

Pei Du didn't get up until almost eight o'clock the next day. His experiment was in the afternoon, and he usually slept until noon.

But there's a Sheng Shixian downstairs.

Pei Du put on his clothes, put the key from the bedside table into his pocket, opened the door and went downstairs.

A white silkworm pupa bulged up on the sofa.

Pei Du walked slowly, glancing down before fixing his gaze on the constantly moving silkworm cocoon on the sofa.

Sheng Shixian buried himself completely under the covers, the white blankets covering his entire body. The chains securing the table to the corner rattled and creaked occasionally from under the blankets.

Pei Du: "..."

what to do?

He quickened his pace downstairs. Sheng Shixian seemed to hear a sound from inside the blanket, and the huge, constantly moving silkworm cocoon instantly stopped moving.

Pei Du watched helplessly as the bulging blanket on the sofa deflated rapidly like a punctured balloon. When Pei Du walked to the sofa, Sheng Shixian, just like last night, peeked out half her face and lay obediently on the sofa.

"What were you biting just now?" Pei Du asked him.

Sheng Shixian lifted his eyelids, his dark eyes calm, shamelessly pretending nothing had happened.

Pei Du noticed the tie on Sheng Shixian's mouth. He stepped forward and lifted the blanket, finding that the shackles on Sheng Shixian's wrists and ankles were properly worn, without any signs of loosening.

But there was saliva on it.

Pei Du frowned, shifted his gaze to the tie Sheng Shixian was biting, and reached out his hand.

Sheng Shixian's facial muscles stiffened slightly. Pei Du pulled on the tie and easily pulled it open. He looked back and saw that a new knot had been tied at the back of Sheng Shixian's head.

It wasn't a knot that Pei Du tied that was impossible to untie; it was a new knot that was easy to open.

Sheng Shixian actually untied his tie himself, and then tied it back on when Pei Du arrived.

How did he do that?

Pei Du looked at the handcuffs on Sheng Shixian's wrists and realized that the chain in the middle of the handcuffs was still too long.

He grew long enough for him to make small, sneaky moves.

Sheng Shixian secretly observed Pei Du's reaction. His fingernails were sharp, and he was gently pricking his palm.

Pei Du pretended not to notice these things. Sheng Shixian, as expected of the male lead, could not be restricted by a small tie.

But Sheng Shixian still had some humanity; he untied himself and then tied himself back up. At least he didn't pretend to wait for Pei Du to come and bite him to death.

"How are you feeling today?" Pei Du loosened Sheng Shixian's tie and asked.

After his tie was loosened, Sheng Shixian slowly closed his lips. He couldn't speak fluently like a normal person, and after hesitating for a few seconds, he still managed to utter one or two words at a time: "...My legs hurt."

His leg was the most seriously injured part, but without a full examination, Pei Du didn't know the condition of the rest of his body: "Only your leg hurts? What about the rest of your body?"

Sheng Shixian pursed his lips and remained silent.

Pei Du thought he was fine, so he stood up and went to wash up.

"It hurts, the rest...it hurts." Sheng Shixian said quickly when he saw Pei Du was about to leave.

Pei Du could only squat down again, looking Sheng Shixian up and down before asking, "Where?"

Sheng Shixian sat up from the sofa, hesitant to speak, his mind blank except for a limited number of words: "swelling pain".

Pei Du: "?"

Sheng Shixian didn't explain much. After he finished speaking, he took Pei Du's hand and pressed it neatly to his lower abdomen.

"It's swollen and painful," he repeated, staring intently at Pei Du.

Pei Du: "..."

Pei Du understood Sheng Shixian's meaning in an instant.

Sheng Shixian's abdominal muscles were firm, and Pei Du placed his palm on them, feeling the warmth and touch emanating through his clothes.

This is the consequence of low Yang energy levels.

Sheng Shixian looked down at Pei Du's fair hand with faintly visible blue veins, and unconsciously tightened his grip on Pei Du's hand. His sharp nails stung Pei Du's skin slightly.

Sheng Shixian quietly opened her lips again.

“Sheng Shixian, this is my hand, not bone.” Pei Du took in Sheng Shixian’s subtle expressions and said, “Swallow your saliva.”

Sheng Shixian's forward-leaning neck stiffened instantly. He closed his mouth, casually wiped the water stains from the corner of his mouth with his hand, and then casually placed it on the back of Pei Du's hand.

The sticky water stains mixed with Pei Du's skin surface were wet and clearly did not resemble ordinary human saliva.

Pei Du quickly withdrew his hand and stood up. He smelled the liquid on his hand and wiped his palms with a wet wipe.

Sheng Shixian looked up at Pei Du wiping his fingers, and through his actions, Sheng Shixian clearly sensed the resistance and disdain that Pei Du contained.

Sheng Shixian frowned, and after a few seconds of stiffness, he raised his fingers and placed them under his nose.

He smelled his fingertips and found that they had no smell.

Sheng Shixian simply put his hand back in its original position.
