This half hour is perfect for him to relax.

Adrian turned on his personal terminal, intending to play a few games to pass the time, when he caught a glimpse of someone, Gouqie, leaning against the armrest of his chair, staring at him.

Adrian paused for a few seconds before saying, "Sorry, I left the book at home. I'll read it when I get back."

Just living an ignoble existence:(▼plate▼)

After Adrian finished speaking, he stopped looking at the list of those who were barely surviving. He tapped his finger on the screen of his personal computer, and then, as if remembering something, he switched pages to look at the trending topics on the StarNet.

Today marks the day the Tenth Army returns victorious from their campaign against the alien beasts. After Morris was wounded, Colin, the commander of the Tenth Army, took over his original duties.

Adrian had a deep impression of Colin, the Empire's cold-faced general, taciturn, with silver hair and blue eyes. He was loyal to the current Zerg royal family and his strength was comparable to Morris's.

In his previous life, it was he who cut off Maurice's head.

Adrian propped his chin up, his gaze fixed on the screen of the quantum computer. The screen was broadcasting live the scene of Colin's victorious return. Below, the insect swarm was dense, and the plaques held aloft were filled with cheers. The female insects who came to greet him were so crowded that their specific figures could not be seen.

Colin's aircraft slowly descended from the sky.

Adrian entered the live stream room, his eyes slightly closed, and at the exact moment Colin's face appeared, he tipped the streamer dozens of small blades.

To live a life of ignominy: "..."

News of Commander Colin's victory had reached the military headquarters several days earlier, and the female officer who came to report had compiled all the information about the front lines into a file and submitted it.

The alien beasts on the desolate planet have been completely eradicated, and the problems left over from the previous legion commander have been thoroughly resolved. Test results indicate that the desolate planet will not experience any further outbreaks of alien beast tides for the next hundred years.

Morris had anticipated this phenomenon. Colin was also an S-class female soldier, and their strength was comparable in all aspects. Unfortunately, Morris was ambushed and injured his right eye, forcing him to withdraw from the current mission midway.

Morris exited the computer screen. He had almost finished processing the documents in his hand, and opened the door to hand them over to his superiors for review.

Two female soldiers stood beside the top-floor office. Upon seeing Morris, they saluted and said, "Seventh Army Commander, General Colin is inside reporting on the situation. Please wait a moment."

Morris hummed in agreement, then found a shady spot nearby and stood there calmly, remaining silent.

The female soldier on the far side lowered her hat brim. Standing next to Maurice, she glanced at Maurice's face discreetly.

Morris's wound to his right eye was quite severe; his cornea was reportedly damaged, and it was uncertain whether he would ever be able to see again. The military, taking this into consideration, was considering replacing him as corps commander.

The Seventh Army is in a bad situation right now, not to mention that Maurice's mental breakdown worsened after he returned injured. His Majesty found a suitable ruler for him in less than a week and married Maurice off directly.

Morris was a temperamental woman in the military, who used to dress casually and often smiled nonchalantly at her subordinates.

But ever since he returned injured, the insect has visibly become depressed, rarely speaks, and has now been forced to become the queen of a male insect with a terrible temper.

Adrian, the male insect, is the most snobbish.

He has almost all the bad habits that male Zerg have. He's petty, calculating, and when he's happy he'll chat with you for a bit to pass the time, but when he's unhappy he'll turn around and find a reason to kick you into the ditch.

Look how haggard their Legion Commander Maurice looks. Last night was his wedding night with Adrian, and that male insect Adrian probably gave him a lot of trouble.

The female soldier withdrew her gaze and sighed inwardly.

Morris, who was usually casual and carefree in his clothing, was dressed in his general's uniform meticulously today. It must have been Adrian's whipping and humiliation of him last night that forced their legion commander to dress like this as a cover-up.

Morris was still waiting nearby, watching the numbers displayed on his personal computer screen, not wanting to waste too much time here.

A short while later, another female soldier walked over.

Morris glanced at him and saw the female soldier walk straight toward him.

"Commander, this is a medicine specially made for you by the royal physician at His Majesty's request. Your right eye must not be exposed to sensitive light sources for the time being, and you should also pay close attention to your daily diet." As she spoke, the female officer handed the small medical box in her hand to Morris.

Morris took the box, which contained eye drops and ointments for repairing his retina, with instructions on the frequency and dosage.

He glanced at her, and the female soldier bowed, saying, "Please thank Your Majesty for me."

The female soldier also saluted Morris before turning and leaving.

Morris gripped the medical kit in his hand. He turned around and saw the office door open. Colin had finished his report and came out.

Morris and Colin exchanged a glance, but neither of them spoke. Colin walked down the corridor, and Morris then turned and went into the office.

Morris's report was simple, consisting mainly of terrain and topography analysis of the desolate planet. He was injured and did not need to participate in frontline combat, so he had been doing these terrain map analyses lately.

Without asking any further questions, Morris finished his report and left the office.

Colin waited for him at the corner on the second floor. This corner was the only place that the cameras couldn't detect. Colin sat on the steps and made room for Morris when he came over.

"Married?" Colin asked casually, his gaze sweeping over Morris's military uniform as he finished speaking. "That male insect couldn't deeply mark you."

Morris didn't sit down. He tugged at his collar and said nonchalantly, "I know."

"You know?" Colin's tone was laced with sarcasm as he stared at Morris and said, "Then do you know he's pursuing a female soldier in my legion? Cecil, you've heard of him, right? Our Eighth Prince, Adrian has spent a lot of money on him."

Morris stood still, shadows looming over him, concealing his unpredictable expression.

“This is none of your business.” Morris covered the insect pattern on the back of his neck with one hand and lowered his eyes. “He is my lord now.”

Colin seemed amused: "He could be the master of other female insects too. Aren't there enough female servants for male insects? Morris, Cecil is back from the front lines today, you should know that."

Morris's expression remained unchanged. He glanced up at the wall above the second floor and didn't continue the conversation with Colin: "It's getting late, Commander. I'll be going now."

Colin suddenly stood up behind him: "Maurice, don't let that male get in your way."

Morris paused, then quickly left the corridor.

He returned to his office and activated the tracking device on his personal terminal. Adrian's personal terminal already had a tracking system implanted. Morris looked at the screen and saw the small red dot flashing; it was no longer where it had been.

Adrian went out anyway.

Cecil returned today, and Adrian also left the villa.

Morris clenched his fist. The insect-like markings on the back of his neck throbbed with pain again. Morris plunged the sharp nail in his hand deep into his flesh, feeling a slight relief from the pain.
