Sheng Shixian ran his hand over the sofa. He had previously made a small hole in the surface of this leather sofa. He inserted his index finger into it and pulled out a folded wire.

Pei Du hid the key so well that even ghosts couldn't find it, leaving Sheng Shixian with no choice but to resort to this desperate measure.

There was still no sound from upstairs. Sheng Shixian waited for four or five hours in a light sleep until after 3 a.m. before he tentatively tried to pry open the lock with a wire.

He had done this before to escape when he was in the black market, and now, groping for the outline of the lock in the dark, he soon found the keyhole through which the wire went.

Sheng Shixian patiently fiddled with the lock with a wire. As he leaned back against the sofa and inserted the wire again, he suddenly heard a sound from the window.

"Experimenter No. 237, Pei Du... is illegally possessing a variant species." The window was opened from the outside, and within seconds a figure climbed in along the wall.

He was prepared, and drew the dagger from his leg, which was specifically designed to target alien species, to cut off Sheng Shixian's long tail.

Sheng Shixian narrowed his eyes. He remained seated on the sofa and pulled back the long tail he had just released.

The newcomer was about to raise his gun when, before the long tail in the air could retract, another gust of cold wind shot out and pierced straight through the chest of the figure inside the room.

...It actually has more than one tail?

The figure vomited blood, gritted his teeth and fired two shots into the room, then endured the pain and smashed open the glass door next to him, crawling out of the bathroom window.

Sheng Shixian retracted his long tail, his brows furrowing slightly. He hadn't been able to see clearly in the darkness, so it hadn't pierced his heart.

There was already a noise upstairs. Sheng Shixian hurriedly wiped the blood off his tail with the water on the table and retracted his long tail.

The door to the second-floor room opened a dozen seconds later. Sheng Shixian looked up and saw Pei Du turn on the stairwell light and walk downstairs in his pajamas.

"What's wrong?" Pei Du was wearing loose white pajamas. He was awakened by the sudden bursts of gunfire from downstairs and looked downstairs without thinking.

Pei Du strode over to Sheng Shixian's side. Sheng Shixian sat on the sofa with his head down, biting his gag, his face pale.

Pei Du largely ignored Sheng Shixian's words; being shot was hardly a minor injury.

He pulled down Sheng Shixian's pajama bottoms, and there was a lot of blood on Sheng Shixian's lower body. He wondered if the flesh had rotted.

Sheng Shixian stiffened slightly. He lowered his eyes and let Pei Du pull open his clothes to look behind him.

"Is this the place that hurts?" Pei Du asked with some doubt. He touched the red mark above Sheng Shixian's coccyx with his fingertips, and when he took it out to look at it again, his hand was still clean, without any trace of blood.

Sheng Shixian's clothes were covered in blood, but there was no wound on his body.

“It hurts right there.” Sheng Shixian squinted his eyes.

The place where Pei Du's fingertips lingered evoked waves of tingling sensations, which soon spread to his limbs and bones, like a feather gently brushing against him, bringing a ticklish and tingling feeling.

Pei Du pressed his finger back to the original spot. Sheng Shixian, her face pale, hugged Pei Du's waist and buried her face in his stomach.

Pei Du could only gently massage Sheng Shixian's area. He glanced around at the surroundings and asked, "Did you see who it was?"

Sheng Shixian shifted his gaze to the window and said, "It's the military. Someone reported you for illegally possessing a different species."
