In Cheng Jingyi's plan, he was supposed to gradually break down Shen Yisui's psychological defenses, watching him suffer humiliation and torment until he finally couldn't bear it and committed suicide.

In fact, everything did initially develop in the direction that Cheng Jingyi had envisioned.

He built a lavish cage for Shen Yisui, imprisoning him inside and constantly pressuring him like a wild beast.

Shen Yisui was well aware of his situation. He resisted Cheng Jingyi's hints several times and tried to escape from the West District.

Cheng Jingyi turned a blind eye to this. Shen Yisui was now a prisoner, and everything he did was nothing more than a dying struggle in Cheng Jingyi's eyes.

He would rather watch Shen Yisui slowly drown in the dark water.

After all, no matter how obedient Shen Yisui pretends on the surface, his dark thoughts are no less than Cheng Jingyi's.

Cheng Jingyi was not so easily fooled by Shen Yisui's appearance. Throughout this process, he constantly forced Shen Yisui to submit to him, assigning him countless tasks and ordering him to wear a servant's uniform and serve him tea and water every day.

Later, it was discovered that all of this was in vain.

Shen Yisui was blind and could not see things, so these humiliating clothes ultimately only falsely satisfied Cheng Jingyi himself.

After a moment's hesitation, Cheng Jing deliberately cut four or five large holes in Shen Yisui's clothes. He chose places that were private, so that the outline of Shen Yisui's muscles would be exposed when he walked.

Cheng Jingyi watched him walk, and finally felt a sense of pleasure.

His ultimate goal was to make Shen Yisui clearly aware of the exposure of his skin, and to deliberately stimulate Shen Yisui's increasingly tense nerves.

Shen Yisui seemed oblivious and remained calm.

Cheng Jingyi narrowed his eyes as he monitored Shen Yisui's every move. Just when he thought Shen Yisui was completely unaffected, Shen Yisui suddenly ran out the door completely naked.

Cheng Jingyi's nerves skipped a beat, and he quickly grabbed Shen Yisui and dragged him into the room. The door slammed shut, and Cheng Jingyi threw all the ripped clothes on the floor onto Shen Yisui.

"Put it on! Do you have an exhibitionist fetish?!"

He thought he had finally driven Shen Yisui crazy.

Shen Yisui sat back on the bed, his expression still indifferent. He threw his clothes back on the floor and smiled apologetically at Cheng Jingyi: "I couldn't find my clothes after taking a shower, so I thought someone had taken them."

Cheng Jingyi glanced at the gray clothes on the ground and sneered, "You think I'd believe such a clumsy excuse?"

"Believe it or not, it's up to you." Shen Yi stepped on the clothes on the ground, stood up, and tried to walk out again. "I'll go find it."

"There are zombies outside." Cheng Jingyi's voice rang out coldly behind Shen Yisui. "If you want to die, go out naked like this."

Shen Yisui had already reached the door. He gripped the doorknob and paused briefly upon hearing the sound. But after only a second or two, he twisted the doorknob down again.

"They'll tear you apart and eat you."

As soon as Cheng Jingyi finished speaking, the door closed in front of him.

The room suddenly fell silent. Cheng Jingyi sat alone at the foot of the bed and tugged at the corner of her lips upon seeing this.

"You damn thing, I'll bite you to death." Cheng Jingyi cursed, pulling a pack of cigarettes from his shirt pocket, his chest heavy with inexplicable anger.

A wisp of smoke curled upwards, mingling with the murky air, and soon dissipated completely.

Cheng Jingyi watched as the smoke disappeared, paused for a second or two, then suddenly stood up and strode toward the door.

He grasped the doorknob, opened the door, and saw Shen Yisui standing in front of him. Shen Yisui was completely naked, but his back was straight. Hearing the sound, he lifted his eyelids, and his dark gray pupils silently looked at Cheng Jingyi.

"Heh." In that instant, Cheng Jingyi knew he had been outmaneuvered again. His anger more than doubled in an instant, and without saying a word, he pulled Shen Yisui back into the room.

"What do you mean?"

"It's nothing," Shen Yisui said, his eyes lowered. "I just went out to find some clothes."

After he finished speaking, he added, "I couldn't find it, so I came back."

"You haven't moved since you left the room, do you think I don't know?" Cheng Jingyi said sarcastically. "Shen Yisui, do you think your life is that important to me? Don't be ridiculous."

Shen Yisui remained unmoved: "Then why did you open the door?"

"Open the door and I'll give you a beating." Cheng Jingyi pulled Shen Yisui over, straddling Shen Yisui's legs, his eyes darkening.

Shen Yisui frowned. He had always resisted this kind of thing, and now he showed an impatient expression: "I'm tired, I'm not doing it."

“I’m not tired, I want to do it.” Cheng Jingyi pulled down his collar, stared at Shen Yisui’s expression, and sneered, “You can just lie down.”

Shen Yisui loosened his grip.

Once something like this starts, it's hard to reverse it. Cheng Jingyi initially only made psychological hints to Shen Yisui, with the same purpose as before: mostly threats and intimidation, but she had no intention of forcing herself on him.

Later, one day he got drunk. Cheng Jingyi usually had a high alcohol tolerance and didn't get drunk easily, but that day he was dizzy and for some reason talked a lot with Shen Yisui after returning home.

“Cheng Jingyi, I remember you. When I was little... you gave me a fruit basket. Everyone else had left by then, but you still remembered me and gave me some money.”

"Those things... were they given to me?" Cheng Jingyi felt his ears burning. Shen Yisui kept asking him the same question, making his mind confused and his head throbbing.

"Is this for me? Is it for me? Who are you giving it to?"

Cheng Jingyi was getting annoyed by his noise. He tried to push Shen Yisui away, but Shen Yisui pressed down on him with all his might, like a heavy mountain, making it hard for him to breathe.

After two unsuccessful attempts, Cheng Jingyi simply gave up.

"If it's not for you, then who is it for? Shen Yisui, don't be ungrateful..."

Shen Yisui abruptly stopped asking him a question. He remained motionless, still heavily pressing down on Cheng Jingyi. The weight of an adult male was never to be underestimated, and Cheng Jingyi felt an even heavier weight on his chest.

"I knew it... it was for Shen Yisui..."

Shen Yisui's voice lowered. The rustling sounds around him continued, and Cheng Jingyi felt the light above his head flicker and swirl. Then his body and mind sank into an indescribable swamp.

Cheng Jingyi was determined to have her that night. Entanglement, panting, sweat... all these things intertwined, and he vaguely heard the suppressed pain of the person beneath him.

Cheng Jingyi narrowed his eyes, showing no pity, and pressed the man's body down even harder.

When Cheng Jingyi regained consciousness the next day, he was still somewhat dazed and confused. He sat there in a daze for a moment before belatedly realizing something.

Shen Yisui sat down beside him. He looked as if he hadn't slept all night, with dark circles under his eyes and bloody bite marks all over his body.

"you……"

Just as Cheng Jingyi opened her mouth, Shen Yi casually turned his face to the side. His eyes were red, and a tear fell perfectly into Cheng Jingyi's eye.

Cheng Jingyi's Adam's apple bobbed. His emotions surged for a moment, and he felt a little incredulous at what he had done.

He actually did it...

"You're crying over something so trivial? What's there to cry about?" Cheng Jingyi seemed completely oblivious to the inappropriateness of his behavior. He glanced coldly at Shen Yisui, showing no remorse whatsoever. "I raised you precisely because..."

Shen Yisui kept his head turned to the side and didn't speak. His wispy hair fell down on both sides, covering most of his face.

Cheng Jingyi's voice was hoarse and tinged with displeasure. He reached out to pull Shen Yisui to his side, but his hand accidentally touched a certain part of Shen Yisui's back, causing a sharp pain that stimulated his nerves.

Cheng Jingyi frowned deeply. He pressed one hand down on the bed, so hard that the entire bed surface collapsed.

Realizing what had happened, Cheng Jingyi's expression changed slightly: "Shen Yisui, last night...?"

Shen Yisui's eyes welled up with tears, his eyelashes curled and glistening with moisture: "Don't do that again, it hurts a lot."

“Shen Yisui—” Cheng Jingyi suddenly understood everything. His face turned gloomy and terrifying. In that instant, he wished he could tear Shen Yisui into pieces.

Shen Yisui remained timid and hesitant. Cheng Jingyi glared at him, then angrily picked up the clothes that had fallen to the ground and put them on.

He has always been physically gifted, and although he hasn't had much treatment yet, he can still endure it.

Shen Yisui sat silently to the side, his body covered in bite marks, occasionally interspersed with bruises. He looked like he had been bullied, but the reality was quite the opposite.

"That damn thing..." Cheng Jingyi's jaw muscles twitched. He glanced coldly at Shen Yisui for a moment, then quickly put on his clothes and rushed out the door.

That was the very first time.

It seemed like it set a very bad precedent, and then countless more times followed.

Cheng Jingyi was always unwilling to accept this. In her unwillingness, she began to put it into practice many times.

The ultimate result of practice was even greater resentment.

Shen Yisui was undoubtedly adept at manipulating people's hearts. He was always more obedient than rebellious in front of Cheng Jingyi, but at certain moments he would behave excessively embarrassingly, as if he had truly suffered a great humiliation.

Cheng Jingyi had always known that Shen Yisui was pretending. From the day he fell into Cheng Jingyi's hands, he had disguised himself perfectly.

Cheng Jingyi had long known that Shen Yisui was no good person. He stayed by Cheng Jingyi's side and had considered killing her more than once.

The colorless poison was placed in the water glass, and an ice spike trap was set on the way back. Shen Yisui was always silently plotting how to kill someone in the next second.

Cheng Jingyi had already seen through Shen Yisui's sinister intentions, and after returning, he humiliated Shen Yisui even more. Whenever Shen Yisui frowned and remained silent in protest, Cheng Jingyi would feel a perverse sense of satisfaction.

Their abnormal and bizarre relationship lasted for nearly a month.

In bed, they were intertwined, whispering sweet nothings. Yet, there was little affection between them; it was mostly physical contact and struggle. Off the bed, however, they were, in the eyes of outsiders, both canaries in a gilded cage and prisoners in a cage.

Cheng Jingyi believed that she had never truly cared about Shen Yisui.

The man who nearly killed him would never easily change his nature.

Although Shen Yisui had never laid a hand on a zombie in front of him, Cheng Jingyi knew perfectly well what Shen Yisui did behind the scenes.

Cheng Jingyi kept an eye on Shen Yisui, also wary of his every move.

It wasn't until a riot broke out among the zombie horde that Cheng Jingyi was shot by a hidden military gunman in the chaos.

Although it did not penetrate a vital area, the bullet, specifically designed to deal with zombies, stopped at the edge of his ribs, and corrosive liquid continued to seep down at a rate of three to four millimeters per minute.

Because this is a newly developed bullet with special properties, no high-level zombie in the horde has been able to remove it.

Cheng Jingyi was equally wary of letting the other zombies touch her body. Few of these zombies were good people; in their eyes, human flesh was more valuable than power, and the zombie king's crystal core was even more alluring than human flesh.

Cheng Jingyi ultimately decided to do it herself.

He locked himself in the house and prepared the surgical instruments and sutures he would need.

Cheng Jingyi had always removed bullets herself in the past, but this time the bullet was embedded deep in the skin and flesh of her ribcage. The surrounding flesh and tendons were corroded, inevitably increasing the difficulty of removing the bullet.

Shen Yisui entered the room at some point, and as usual, he held a glass of water in his hand, standing silently at the door.

Cheng Jingyi tried three or four times but failed each time. His ribs were torn open, leaving a small bloody hole. Blood flowed down, revealing the white bones underneath.

Cold sweat beaded on his forehead. Sensing Shen Yisui's presence, Cheng Jingyi's expression immediately turned mocking, his gaze turning icy as he looked in Shen Yisui's direction: "How did you get in?"

Shen Yisui was honest and said, "I have the key; you gave it to me last time."

"Really?" Cheng Jingyi's pupils were deep and black. His gaze shifted for a moment and then stopped on the glass of plain water that Shen Yisui was holding.

He smiled and said, "You really know how to seize opportunities."

Shen Yisui had never taken the initiative to approach Cheng Jingyi before, but now that Cheng Jingyi was injured, he immediately and quietly came closer.

Upon hearing the sound, Shen Yisui lowered his head and approached the water glass in his hand. The boiled water inside had just been poured, and the rising steam spread across his face.

"I'm just a little thirsty," Shen Yisui said.

After he finished speaking, he walked towards Cheng Jingyi and continued, "I will retrieve these bullets. I used to study these things in the East District."

Cheng Jingyi looked at him coldly: "Do you think I would believe you?"

"Whatever you want." Shen Yisui didn't insist. He took his water glass, walked to the side, and continued to lower his eyes without saying a word.

The air was filled with a desolate, blood-tinged scent. Cheng Jingyi gripped the scalpel tightly in his hand, as the toxins from the bloody hole in his chest continued to seep in, corroding his flesh and nerves.

"Come here." Cheng Jingyi took a deep breath, gripping the handle of the scalpel tightly, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.

He threw all the surgical instruments to Shen Yisui.

Upon hearing this, Shen Yisui put down the water glass in his hand, picked up the scalpel, and walked to the opposite side of Cheng Jingyi: "I'll help you remove the bullet, and you can let me go out for a walk."

Cheng Jingyi glanced at him and said, "Take it out first."

“Okay.” Shen Yisui didn’t argue with Cheng Jingyi any longer. He reached out and touched Cheng Jingyi’s chest, quickly pinpointing the location of the gun muzzle.
