Pei Du was still shaken. His hair was disheveled as he straightened his collar and warned Sheng Shixian, "Don't do that again. Were you trying to bite me just now?"

Sheng Shixian sat back down in his original spot, his pupils fixed on the front, reflecting Pei Du's image. Pei Du's skin was pale yet delicate, clearly fragile; even a slight disturbance would result in severe injury.

Sheng Shixian's Adam's apple bobbed, and he narrowed his eyes, giving an ambiguous "hmm."

Pei Du couldn't see through Sheng Shixian's thoughts. Sheng Shixian was changing and growing every day, even every moment.

"Sheng Shixian, don't sleep yet, brush your teeth before lying down." Sheng Shixian was startled for a moment. His nerves were on edge, and he opened his eyes to look around.

Pei Du carried the blanket downstairs, placed it on a chair next to the sofa, and handed Sheng Shixian his cane. "Can you stand up?"

Sheng Shixian was still somewhat dazed. He held his head with one hand and looked up, where Pei Du's figure stood before him. He wasn't particularly tall or strong; in fact, he was rather thin. But when he stood in front of Sheng Shixian, he always managed to block out most of the light.

Sheng Shixian lowered his eyes, and after a few seconds of stunned silence, he got up from the sofa.

He still reached out his hand to Pei Du over his cane, saying, "Help me."

Sheng Shixian chewed the contents of his mouth into crumbs in a minute or two, took a sip of water, and spat out all the plastic pieces mixed with foam.

The bristles on the brush head had long been chewed to pieces by him. Sheng Shixian turned on the tap and flushed their corpses down the drain.

He turned to look at Pei Du, who slit his own throat, his expression even more indescribable.
