Morris had a bruise on the corner of his lip, and his dark skin and brownish exterior couldn't hide the scars underneath.

The female soldier possesses exceptional healing abilities; the wounds elsewhere had long since healed completely. The remaining marks on her lips clearly indicate a severe injury.

“My lord, I had a minor disagreement with General Colin.” Morris didn’t hide anything and explained the situation.

Morris had a mental battle with Colin in the Insect Emperor's tomb. The two insects had a close relationship in the military, and Colin found out about Morris in no time.

Morris overturned the black crystal coffin in the cemetery, an act that earned Colin five hundred lashes. Colin, of course, wouldn't let it go. However, lacking evidence, Colin used the excuse of military training to have another fight with Morris.

Adrian frowned. He noticed blood seeping from the bandage around Morris's eye and quickly removed the bandage to check what was happening inside.

Morris had recently undergone surgery on his right eye, and although the recovery was progressing well, it remained fragile. Adrian leaned closer to examine the area around his eye; it was somewhat swollen, and there were a few blood vessels around the pupil, but no bruising or wounds were visible.

"He even hit your eye?" Adrian's face hardened, his fingertips lightly rubbing the skin around Morris's eye, his anger rising in his voice. "He only knows how to bully you!"

Morris: "..."

Colin's situation wasn't much better than Morris's. Both of them were S-class female insects, and in every aspect, they were evenly matched.

Morris's mental control was even superior to Colin's. Colin injured his eyelids and lips, while Morris slashed Colin's cheek—the face Colin was going to use for his wedding photos a few days later.

Morris paid no attention to any of this. He half-squatted in front of Adrian, looked up, and said, "My lord, Colin has no evidence. You can rest assured."

Adrian snorted. "Of course he didn't, otherwise he wouldn't have come looking for trouble with you. Does it still hurt?"

“It hurts,” Morris answered quickly. He squinted his right eye, the deep purple liquid inside seemingly mixed with unreadable tears. “I can’t open it.”

"..." Adrian watched as Maurice pretended to close his eyes. After a few seconds of silence, he gestured to Maurice, "Sit next to me, I'll rub it for you."

Morris stood up. He had been selectively listening to only half of what was said, as if he were deliberately misunderstanding.

Adrian was sitting on the sofa when he saw a military uniform flash before his eyes, and Morris skillfully straddled Adrian's lap.

“My lord, thank you for your trouble.” Morris lowered his eyes and let Adrian touch the skin around his eyes, having already adjusted his movements.

"..." Adrian wrapped his arms around Morris's waist, carefully controlling the pressure of his fingertips as he massaged the swollen skin beneath with varying degrees of force.

“Maurice, Colin is getting married to Sean.” Adrian continued, his hand motion unchanged, as if mentioning it casually, “In three days.”

Morris already knew, and he kept his eyes closed, remaining silent.

Adrian didn't care and continued, "The Insect Emperor is in bad shape now, and Sean may ascend the throne in the future."

His cool fingertips rested on Maurice's skin, warming with touch. Maurice opened his eyes and looked silently at Adrian.

Adrian leaned back on the sofa and smiled at him: "I don't like Sean, and I don't want to see him ascend the throne."

Adrian's face was always gentle, lacking the sharpness of a female insect. Only when he was occasionally angry would his pupils narrow, revealing a hint of fierce camouflage.

Now he sat across from Maurice as usual, his tone unchanged, as if he were talking about something as simple as it could be.

“Prince Arran is sickly and weak; he is not a good choice.” Morris, still controlling his muscles as he sat on Adrian’s lap, looked directly at Adrian and spoke.

Adrian smiled but remained silent.

Morris was indeed fully aware of Adrian's movements. Adrian's frequent contact with Arran during this period had already silently demonstrated his stance.

Morris knew where Adrian's ambitions lay, in the royal family before, and still in the royal family now.

“Of the two male insect princes under the Insect Emperor’s rule, aside from Sean, there is only Arran as a male insect prince to choose from.” Adrian leaned closer to Morris, staring into his eyes, trying to discern something else within them. “What do you think I should do?”

“Who said only the two of them can choose?” Maurice replied casually. “Anyone can sit in that position.”

His tone was full of implication, and Adrian asked in surprise, "You want me to be the Insect Emperor?"

Morris looked at him: "My lord, you don't want to?"

The current throne was merely a usurpation by the Insect Emperor. In Morris's eyes, neither Sean nor Arran were qualified to ascend the throne.

He was merely a former prince who had survived by sheer luck. Even after years of hiding and concealing his identity, Maurice still lived on thin ice every day after joining the military.

He could live his life in anonymity.

After the Insect Emperor's death, news of Morris will also disappear from the Insectoid race. Neither Sean nor Arran will dwell on those old stories after they ascend the throne.

But Adrian was clearly unwilling to give up his imperial dream.

Morris has watched Adrian climb the ladder step by step over the years and knows all the blood, sweat and tears he has shed and worked hard to this day.

He knew Adrian was flattering him, and he understood that Adrian was always calculating. It was precisely because of these things that Adrian had gotten to where he was today.

With these steps laid out one after another, how could Adrian possibly be willing to be a supporting character to Arran?

A glimmer of light flickered in Adrian's green eyes, as layers of emotion piled up within them, obscuring his original appearance.

He smiled silently. After a moment of silence, Adrian spoke again: "That's too risky. Prince Arran is physically weak, but of good character, so he's a good choice."

Morris frowned slightly; Adrian's answer was unexpected.

This male insect has never been one to consider the feelings of other insects. He had made so many preparations, yet now he was willing to give them all up to help another male insect.

“My lord, I also have my own army.” Morris considered various possibilities, among which the lack of military power was the most likely.

He pondered for a moment, still unwilling to let Adrian back down: "I can help you..."

Adrian knew what he wanted to say. He kissed Maurice's thin lips and said, "Maurice, I don't want you to take risks."

Morris stiffened; the warmth of his lips was still there, and Adrian's tongue occasionally slipped between his lips.
