Beijing Colors Lingering

Chapter 7 Destiny

Upon hearing Ying Wenjun's question, Shen Jinsui smiled helplessly and replied, "Ji Yan and I are just friends who have known each other for many years."

As soon as she finished speaking, Ying Wenjun's face lit up with a faint smile, and she asked her again, "Sui Sui, do you have a boyfriend?"

Shen Jinsui didn't think much of it, treating it as just a casual chat, and replied truthfully, "No."

Knowing that she was studying abroad, Ying Wenjun asked, "When will you graduate?"

“I graduated this year,” Shen Jinsui replied.

Where do you plan to work?

Shen Jinsui treated Dr. Ying as an elder, remained patient, and continued to answer her questions: "Nebula Animation."

Ying Wenjun paused for a second upon hearing this, then nodded and smiled slightly, "Nebula is the best animation company in the country. It's great that you're working there; you'll definitely have a bright future."

Shen Jinsui was a little surprised; she hadn't expected that Dr. Ying would also know about anime.

After chatting for a few more minutes, Shen Jinsui returned to Aunt Ji's ward.

She sat down on the chair next to the hospital bed and quietly stared at Aunt Ji lying on the bed.

After a while, Shen Jinsui got up and left. As soon as she stepped out of the ward, she heard someone calling her name.

Shen Jinsui turned around and saw that it was Dr. Ying.

Then, she looked at the man next to Dr. Ying and her eyes suddenly froze.

This is the man Shen Jinsui met at a club in Beijing a few days ago.

The man looked somewhat familiar to her.

Ying Wenjun walked up to Shen Jinsui and introduced the man beside her with great enthusiasm: "Suisui, this is my son, Zhou Yancong."

Then, Ying Wenjun introduced Shen Jinsui to her son: "Shen Jinsui is a friend of my patient's family."

Zhou Yancong slowly lifted his eyelids, gazing at the girl in front of him, a slight smile curving his thin lips.

He instantly understood why his mother had rushed him to the hospital.

Yes, he and Shen Jinsui are really destined for each other.

"Hello, Ms. Shen. What a coincidence that we meet again."

The man's voice was deep and magnetic, as languid and gentle as a summer night breeze, and as melodious as piano keys.

The last syllable carried a hint of coolness, like chilled sparkling water in the middle of summer, refreshing and invigorating.

Shen Jinsui looked up at him in response. She saw that his long eyelashes were slightly drooping, their deep black color like the feathers of a raven. His nose was high and straight, and his thin, beautiful lips were curved into a cool, aloof smile.

They are from wealthy and noble families.

At this moment, however, it carries a hint of serene beauty.

Soon, Shen Jinsui snapped out of her thoughts and nodded to him, "Hello, Mr. Zhou."

Ying Wenjun was taken aback by her son's words and asked, "Have you met before?"

Zhou Yancong spoke up to explain, his calm voice steady and clear: "I met Miss Shen by chance at the Beijing Club the day before yesterday, but I didn't have the chance to speak with her then."

Ying Wenjun nodded slightly with a happy expression, "Then you two are quite destined for each other."

Shen Jinsui chuckled in agreement, but didn't say anything.

Ying Wenjun looked at Shen Jinsui and asked, "Suisui, are you going home now?"

"Ah."

Ying Wenjun smiled gently and said, "Sui Sui, let my son take you home."

As soon as she finished speaking, Shen Jinsui froze. She wasn't familiar with Zhou Yancong, so there was no need to trouble him. Besides, she had a driver who could take her home.

Just as Shen Jinsui was about to refuse, she heard Zhou Yancong's deep, magnetic voice ring out, slow and deep—

"Miss Shen, I'll take you home."

Shen Jinsui hesitated for a moment, then, as if possessed, swallowed her refusal and nodded with a slight smile, "Then I'll trouble you, Mr. Zhou."

A faint smile flickered in Zhou Yancong's deep, dark eyes, and his voice was low and pleasant: "No trouble at all."

Ying Wenjun stared at the two figures leaving together and nodded with great satisfaction.

Despite their height and build differences, they are a perfect match.

Zhou Yancong and Shen Jinsui walked out of the elevator and went straight to the hospital's parking garage.

After the two stepped out of the elevator, Zhou Yancong led the people next to him forward and then came to a private parking space where a black Maybach Exelero was parked.

The driver and assistant Yu Feng, who were waiting on the side, saw their boss walk over and then saw that he was accompanied by a girl. They felt extremely incredulous.

They thought the boss didn't like women.

This is truly something I've never seen before.

After a moment of surprise, they immediately bowed to Zhou Yancong and then opened the back door of the car.

Then, the car started, drove out of the parking garage, and immediately drove smoothly on the road. The car was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Shen Jinsui was initially quite calm, but soon felt a little embarrassed.

Why did she suddenly agree to the doctor's suggestion?

She turned to look out the car window, the street scenes flashing past her eyes.

"Miss Shen, where do you live?"

Shen Jinsui turned her head and glanced at him, then replied, "Yujing Garden."

Zhou Yancong casually placed his hand on the armrest, his long, jade-like fingers tapping it absentmindedly, and responded with a soft "Mm".

After a while, Zhou Yancong asked again, "Where does Miss Shen work?"

"Nebula Animation." Shen Jinsui pursed her red lips. Why did both mother and son like to ask her this question?

Zhou Yancong's dark eyes flashed with an unreadable emotion, and his handsome thin lips curved into a slight smile. "Hmm, this company is not bad."

Shen Jinsui: "..."

As expected of a biological mother and son, their words are so perfectly in sync.

After a brief exchange, the carriage fell silent again.

Shen Jinsui felt the atmosphere was a bit awkward. She took out her phone from her bag, unlocked it, opened Weibo, and checked the private messages and comments on her account.

Zhou Yancong's gaze inadvertently swept across Shen Jinsui's phone screen. After clearly seeing her Weibo account, he took out his own phone, unlocked it, and opened it.

Shen Jinsui didn't notice Zhou Yancong's actions, and was browsing the content on her phone screen.

A dozen minutes later, the car arrived at the main gate of Yujingyuan.

After the driver got out of the car, he opened the back door, and Shen Jinsui and Zhou Yancong got out of the car together.

Just as Shen Jinsui was pondering how to thank him and leave, a voice entered her ears, deep yet gentle—

"Ms. Shen, it seems we're destined to meet. Since we're both in Beijing, why don't we exchange contact information?"

Shen Jinsui looked up in response, and her eyes met Zhou Yancong's.

In front of the main gate of Yujingyuan stands a row of tall and straight trees with broad canopies, lush and verdant foliage.

They are like a giant green umbrella, shielding passersby from the scorching summer sun.

At that moment, the man stood under the tree, his face handsome and deep, his demeanor noble yet calm and composed, exuding an air of restraint and aloofness.

Today he wore a white shirt with a dark gray suit vest, highlighting his muscular upper body.

Two buttons on his shirt were undone, and the collar was casually folded down, revealing glimpses of his well-defined chest muscles. His well-tailored suit trousers hugged his long, muscular legs.

The color scheme of this entire outfit is both sophisticated and elegant.

Zhou Yanzong gazed quietly into her round, fox-like eyes, which shone like stars and were clear and bright.

It felt like an eternity, but Zhou Yancong waited patiently for her reply.
