Beijing Colors Lingering

Chapter 47 Good Night

Despite their accusations, Zhou Yancong remained calm and composed.

After a while, he suddenly asked, "Grandpa, do you know what Grandpa Cheng's little granddaughter's name is?"

Hearing Zhou Yancong's question, Grandpa Zhou felt puzzled and snorted, but still answered the question, "I heard Old Man Cheng say that his granddaughter's name is Shen Jinsui."

As soon as she finished speaking, Ying Wenjun's expression suddenly froze.

She glanced at her son, then looked at Grandpa Zhou, and asked hesitantly, "Shen Jinsui?"

"Hmm." Grandpa Zhou nodded slightly. "Old Cheng said that his granddaughter took the surname Shen from his eldest daughter-in-law."

Upon hearing this, Zhou's mother was stunned for several seconds before she realized what her son meant.

She nodded happily and said, "Okay, then we'll meet with the Cheng family at the end of this month."

As soon as she finished speaking, Grandpa Zhou, Grandma Zhou, and Dad Zhou all looked at her with a puzzled expression.

At this moment, Zhou Yancong slowly explained, "The girl I like is Shen Jinsui."

Soon, Grandpa Zhou, Grandma Zhou, and Dad Zhou understood what was going on.

Grandpa Zhou nodded, his expression instantly brightening with joy, his voice brimming with laughter: "So that's how it is. You and Old Man Cheng's granddaughter are destined for each other; that's what you call fate."

Grandpa Zhou was overjoyed after he finished speaking. Fortunately, he didn't rush to tell Old Man Cheng that he wanted to cancel the meeting between the two families.

Grandma Zhou breathed a sigh of relief, then muttered with dissatisfaction, "Yan Cong, why are you keeping us in suspense? You didn't explain clearly just now."

Mr. Zhou's face was ashen as he scolded him, "You brat, how dare you make fun of your elders!"

Zhou Yancong spoke calmly and without any ripples in his expression: "I haven't even had a chance to explain yet, and you've already started to criticize me."

Ying Wenjun looked somewhat embarrassed, as she had been the first to reprimand her son.

She then coughed lightly, cleverly changing the subject by asking, "Yan Cong, when are you planning to confess your feelings to Sui Sui?"

Zhou Yanzong truthfully revealed his plan: "I plan to confess my feelings to her after the two families have finished meeting."

Ying Wenjun thought for a moment, then decided that it would be two weeks later, not too long. She then reminded her son, "Girls value the sense of ceremony. You can't be careless when you confess to Sui Sui. You have to prepare in advance."

Zhou Yancong calmly replied, "Mom, I've arranged everything."

Ying Wenjun smiled and said, "That's good. I'll finally have a daughter-in-law soon."

"Mom," Zhou Yancong said helplessly, correcting her, "Shen Jinsui and I aren't even together yet. If she hears you say something like that, I'm afraid she'll feel embarrassed."

Shen Jinsui mentioned that he would occasionally visit Aunt Ji at Huaheng Hospital on weekends, which meant there was a possibility of running into his mother.

If his mother were to accidentally say something similar in front of Shen Jinsui, it would definitely make the other person feel embarrassed.

"You don't need to tell me." Ying Wenjun glared at her son. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

After chatting with them for a while, Zhou Yancong left the old house.

At this moment, neon lights shimmered in the night. The city of Beijing was dazzling and radiant with lights.

On the busy road, a black Cullinan was heading towards Yujingyuan.

Zhou Yancong sat in the back seat of the car. He took out his phone, unlocked it, opened WeChat, and sent a message to Shen Jinsui as usual.

Meanwhile, Shen Jinsui was in the car on her way back to Yujingyuan when she received his message.

Zhou Yancong learned that Shen Jinsui was still on her way back to Yujingyuan, so he arranged to meet her at the main gate.

Therefore, the two cars, which should have been driven directly into their private garages, will now be parked at the main entrance of Yujingyuan.

After the car arrived at its destination, the driver got out and opened the back door.

After Zhou Yancong got out of the car, he stood at the entrance of Yujingyuan and waited for Shen Jinsui.

After a while, a white Rolls-Royce came to a smooth stop on the side of the road, and then Shen Jinsui got out of the back seat.

Upon hearing the noise, Zhou Yancong slowly raised his eyes and looked over.

Shen Jinsui wore a champagne-colored pearl halter-neck waist-cinching long dress, showing off her exquisite curves. The skirt swayed in the wind, shimmering with faint light.

Her long, wavy hair, loose and smooth, fell casually and lazily over her shoulders, and a diamond necklace adorned her slender, fair neck.

Among her jet-black hair, her delicate collarbones were faintly visible, like two slender crescent moons hanging on her smooth skin.

Shen Jinsui raised her eyelids and looked ahead.

Zhou Yancong stood not far away, tall and elegant, with a calm and reserved demeanor, yet also exuding a touch of casualness and nonchalance.

He was dressed in a black shirt and suit pants, with his sleeves casually rolled up, revealing his fair and jade-like wrists. The bright moonlight shone perfectly on his deep and sculpted features.

The man glanced at her from the side, and as their eyes met, Shen Jinsui felt a strange emotion rising in her heart.

Immediately afterwards, Shen Jinsui pretended to be calm and avoided his burning gaze, walking slowly forward with a graceful and delicate gait.

After a while, Shen Jinsui came to his side and casually asked, "Are you working overtime tonight?"

Zhou Yanzong lowered his gaze, staring intently at the person before him.

The moonlight was bright and gentle, like a slowly flowing spring, reflecting on her beautiful and radiant face.

Her fair, jade-like skin reflected a soft, delicate light, clear and beautiful.

Her eyes were like pools of autumn water, her forehead was delicate and her eyebrows arched, every feature of her was like a painting.

Zhou Yancong suddenly recalled the absurd and bewildering dream he had last night; it was the first time in his life he had ever had such a dream.

In his dream, the person in front of him fell into his arms.

A pair of wet eyes stared innocently at him, the corners of her eyes reddening and occasionally overflowing with tears; her skin was as smooth as ice and jade, her body as soft as jade and as delicate as a flower.

A moment later, his heart stirred slightly, and he lowered his eyes.

The man's deep eyes darkened, a hint of lust flashing in them, before he immediately stopped recalling last night's dream.

Seeing Zhou Yancong's thoughtful and somewhat strange expression, Shen Jinsui called out to him, "Zhou Yancong?"

Zhou Yancong closed his eyes briefly without changing his expression, and answered her question in a low voice: "I'm going back to the old house today to have dinner with my family."

“Me too.” Shen Jinsui nodded with a smile.

“I know, you told me that.”

"Ah."

The two then chatted as they walked.

Their steps were slow, their shadows stretched long, intertwining and occasionally overlapping on the ground.

After a while, the two arrived at the entrance of the villa where Shen Jinsui lived.

Shen Jinsui looked at Zhou Yancong, blinked her bright and clear eyes, and asked him, "Have you forgotten something?"

Zhou Yancong asked gently, "What is it?"

Shen Jinsui smiled slightly, revealing two dimples at the corners of her lips, "I haven't returned your suit jacket yet."

“It’s okay, you can give it to me whenever you want,” Zhou Yancong replied.

"Wait here for me, I'll go in and get my suit jacket now," Shen Jinsui said as she walked into the villa.

A few minutes later, Shen Jinsui walked out of the villa, handed the bag in her hand to Zhou Yancong, and smiled gently, "I already had it cleaned."

“Okay.” Zhou Yancong took the bag.

Shen Jinsui waved goodbye to him, "I'm going in now, goodbye."

"Okay, goodbye." Zhou Yanzong nodded, his eyes slightly raised.

Then, Shen Jinsui turned and walked into the villa.

Zhou Yancong stared at Shen Jinsui's back until she completely disappeared from sight before slowly walking towards the villa next door.

After Shen Jinsui finished showering, she received another message from Zhou Yancong—
