Chapter 374 Reducing Stinging
Huang Feipeng is used to staying alert and efficient at all times, and he needs to refocus his attention on the work at hand.
However, every time he tried to focus his gaze on the text in the document, the stinging pain, like a venomous snake, bit into his nerves, forcing him to blink constantly to relieve the discomfort. His hands tapped on the table as he racked his brains for a solution. He needed to find a way to relieve the eye discomfort immediately.
"Mr. Huang, are you alright?" The secretary pushed open the door and walked in, just in time to see Huang Feipeng rubbing his eyes hard, and a look of concern appeared on her face.
Huang Feipeng suppressed his irritation, his voice remaining calm: "It's nothing, just a little tired. Have someone buy me a better bottle of eye drops."
The secretary nodded and immediately turned to make the arrangements. Huang Feipeng knew he couldn't be careless about such a small matter. Eyesight was crucial for someone like him who needed to read and analyze extensively. Even a slight problem with his eyesight would drastically reduce his work efficiency, something he couldn't tolerate.
With the secretary gone, the office fell silent once more. Huang Feipeng closed his eyes, trying to alleviate his fatigue with a moment's rest. His thoughts remained focused on the case at hand; despite his eye discomfort, the calculations and deductions in his mind never ceased.
"The key to this case lies in how to turn public opinion around," Huang Feipeng thought to himself. He knew that some evidence in the case had begun to turn against the opposing side, but he had to find more direct and decisive evidence to ensure final victory. And the financial evidence before him was the opportunity for a breakthrough.
He reviewed the data he had just seen, quickly analyzing each piece of information in his mind. He seemed to be able to clearly see the hidden connections behind the data, constructing a complete business chain. However, these speculations needed more evidence to support them, and the other party was clearly unwilling to let this information be exposed so easily.
"We must be more cautious," Huang Feipeng told himself. He knew that any wrong judgment would complicate the situation further. And the current situation required him to deal with it with a calmer and more decisive attitude.
A few minutes later, the secretary came in with the newly purchased eye drops. Huang Feipeng took the drops, put in a few, closed his eyes, and waited for them to take effect. The stinging sensation in his eyes lessened slightly, but he was still somewhat uncomfortable. He knew this was only a temporary solution; his eye fatigue would require more rest to fully subside.
“Mr. Huang, if you need, I can contact an ophthalmologist,” the secretary suggested cautiously.
“No need.” Huang Feipeng’s voice was firm and calm, yet carried a subtle sense of pressure. “I’m just a little tired. I’ll be fine after a rest.”
The secretary said no more and silently left.
Huang Feipeng leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes slightly to rest. He knew he had to adjust his state, otherwise the discomfort in his eyes would slow down his progress. But at the same time, the work at hand didn't allow him much of a break. A conflicting emotion surged within him: on the one hand, he wanted to get rid of the discomfort in his eyes as soon as possible; on the other hand, he didn't want to put down his work, after all, the case's progress couldn't afford any delays.
He took a deep breath and decided to put down the documents in his hand for the time being to focus on relieving his eye strain. After all, only by ensuring that he was in good physical condition could he better cope with the challenges ahead.
"Too many trivial matters bothered me today; I must concentrate on dealing with them tomorrow," Huang Feipeng reminded himself silently.
Just then, the office phone rang again, and Huang Feipeng frowned. He answered the phone, and it was his lawyer's voice: "Mr. Huang, there are some details about that new evidence that we haven't noticed. I suggest you take a look at it yourself; you might make some new discoveries."
Huang Feipeng opened his eyes, the stinging sensation seeming to ease somewhat. He knew he couldn't afford to overlook any detail now. So, he slowly stood up, walked to his desk, and picked up the document.
"Send it to my email, I'll check it now," Huang Feipeng said calmly.
After hanging up the phone, he reopened his computer and, despite his discomfort, began reviewing the latest evidence. Every detail in the documents was like a clue in a maze, but Huang Feipeng's unwavering determination kept him calm and efficient.
Huang Feipeng's thoughts were still preoccupied with the complex details of the case, but the stinging in his eyes made it difficult for him to fully concentrate on his work. Despite his efforts to endure the discomfort, the burning sensation in his eyes continued to erode his patience. Realizing that this situation could not continue, Huang Feipeng decided to go to the pharmacy himself to buy a more effective bottle of eye drops. He needed to find a solution that could effectively relieve his eye discomfort as soon as possible.
He called his secretary to tell her he needed to leave the office temporarily to go to the pharmacy, and instructed her to continue following up on other matters related to the case. The secretary's voice was concerned: "Mr. Huang, please be careful; the pharmacy is quite a distance from here."
Huang Feipeng smiled slightly. Although the discomfort in his eyes made him anxious, he remained calm: "It's alright, I'll be back as soon as possible. Make sure the progress of the case isn't affected."
After hanging up the phone, Huang Feipeng walked out of his office, through the lobby, and down to the street. He was wearing a sharp suit, his purple tie gleaming under the lights, making him look exceptionally capable. His steps were slightly hurried, yet he maintained an elegant pace. To him, the pedestrians and vehicles passing by seemed like mere passersby outside of his usual workday. At that moment, his mind was entirely focused on the discomfort in his eyes.
Entering the pharmacy, Huang Feipeng's eyes quickly scanned the various medicines on the shelves. He realized he wasn't familiar with this particular medication; there were many types of eye drops, and he needed one that could relieve fatigue without containing any irritating ingredients. His brow furrowed, and he began to carefully read the instructions.
Seeing this, the pharmacist stepped forward and asked with a gentle smile, "Sir, do you need any help?"
Huang Feipeng paused briefly, then looked up at the pharmacist: "My eyes feel very uncomfortable, they're stinging. Can you recommend an effective eye drop?"
Hearing Huang Feipeng's words, the pharmacist nodded slightly seriously: "I understand. We have several types of eye drops here for eye fatigue and stinging. This one contains natural plant ingredients, which can relieve eye fatigue and reduce stinging."
The pharmacist took out a beautifully packaged bottle of eye drops and handed it to Huang Feipeng. Huang Feipeng carefully checked the ingredients and instructions for use, and felt a little more relaxed.
