Ye Feng thought for a moment and then gave his phone number.

Soon, his phone rang; it was a friend request.

Ye Feng clicked "accept".

Afterwards, Ye Feng left the dessert shop, quickly forgetting about Luo Xiaoxi.

His gaze swept across the road, and a flower shop caught his eye.

He went inside.

After confirming his relationship with Liu Qingyi, he hadn't even gone on a formal date with her, let alone given her a gift.

It's not that I hadn't thought about it, but I felt that things like flowers and plush toys might be useful for ordinary girls, but not necessarily for Liu Qingyi.

But today, he still wanted to buy flowers for Liu Qingyi.

He picked out two bouquets. One bouquet of carnations, to give to Xiong's mother. The other, for Liu Qingyi.

"Sir, roses are a symbol of love, making them the perfect gift for your girlfriend," the shop owner enthusiastically recommended.

Ye Feng shook his head: "Rose, perhaps."

I overheard Liu Qingyi say that she likes roses.

Just then, my phone vibrated. A text from Liu Qingyi: Has it arrived?

Ye Feng replied: Not yet, there's a bit of traffic on the way.

The next text message arrived immediately: Something came up, you should go home first. I'm out socializing.

Ye Feng frowned slightly as he looked at the text message. A social engagement?

But he decided to wait for her anyway. After paying, Ye Feng waited to the side.

At that moment, a woman in business attire walked in: "Nine hundred and ninety-nine roses, the best of the best."

The boss accepted the big order with a big smile, patting his chest and guaranteeing it would be completed within an hour.

The woman threw down the banknotes, her tone forceful: "Don't mess this up within an hour!"

After saying that, she turned around and walked away in her high heels.

Ye Feng frowned as he watched the boss bustling around directing the shop assistants, but no one paid any attention to him for a long time.

He waited for almost ten more minutes before finally asking, "Boss, where are my flowers?"

The boss, who was extremely busy, glanced at him impatiently and said, "No time, wait a bit!"

Ye Feng's face darkened: "How long is 'wait'? I arrived first, there has to be a first-come, first-served rule, right?"

The boss got angry too: "I'm rushing to finish a big order, I don't have time! Go to another company!"

As he spoke, he took out two hundred-yuan bills from the money the woman had left behind and tossed them to Ye Feng.

Ye Feng was amused and annoyed by this action. Two hundred? He could buy two bouquets of flowers for more than that.

He didn't take the money, but reached out and grabbed the shopkeeper: "I can't give you a refund, I want my flowers back."

The boss, even more enraged by being grabbed, said, "I've already given you the money, what more do you want?"

Ye Feng's tone was authoritative: "Give me my flowers."

The boss forcefully pulled his hand away: "No time! This order can't be delayed!"

Watching his boss's busy figure, Ye Feng suddenly said, "Then let's call the police and let them settle this."

The boss paused. He hurriedly glanced at the time; this important client was pressed for time, and any delay would result in significant losses.

He gritted his teeth, pulled out another hundred-yuan bill from the wad of cash, and handed it to Ye Feng: "Three hundred, is that enough?"

Ye Feng still didn't take it, his tone firm: "I don't want money, I just want my flowers."

The boss was furious. What kind of person was this?! "Double! I'll refund you double! Okay?!"

Ye Feng shook his head, his tone laced with sarcasm: "There should be rules in doing things. Making money is important, but you can't lose sight of your basic human decency. I just want my flowers."

"Damn it! Are you deliberately trying to cause trouble?!" The boss finally couldn't hold back and swore.

A cold glint flashed in Ye Feng's eyes, and he increased the force in his hand, causing the boss to groan in pain.

"Let go! Let go of me! Do you know who I am?" the boss roared, his face flushed red.

"I don't care who you are!" Ye Feng said coldly. "You've wasted my time, this isn't over today."

"You poor wretch! You're putting on airs by buying two bunches of tattered flowers! You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror!" The shopkeeper glared at Ye Feng fiercely, his tone full of contempt.

Anger surged within Ye Feng. He couldn't stand people who looked down on others.

"Whether they are migrant workers or delivery drivers, they earn money with their own hands. How are they considered inferior? Just because you earn more money than them, does that give you the right to be unreasonable?" Ye Feng questioned, enunciating each word clearly.

The boss sneered, "Do you know how much I earn in a month? Someone as poor as you wouldn't earn a fraction of what I earn in a lifetime!"

Ye Feng refused to back down: "I don't care how much you earn, you have to get my flowers ready today!"

The two were locked in a stalemate when the boss, his eyes darting around, suddenly shouted, "Everyone come in here!"

As soon as he finished speaking, several people who looked like shop assistants rushed out from the back room and surrounded Ye Feng menacingly.

The boss thought he had the victory in the bag and a smug smile appeared on his face.

But he underestimated Ye Feng.

Ye Feng quickly subdued the group and brought them under control.

The boss was dumbfounded, and the smugness on his face instantly turned into horror.

"Now, can we have a proper talk?" Ye Feng's tone was icy, his gaze like a knife.

The boss panicked completely and hurriedly begged for mercy, "Brother, I was wrong! Please forgive me!"

Ye Feng released him.

The boss rubbed his sore arm, smiled awkwardly, and bowed to Ye Feng: "Sir, I'm so sorry, it was my bad attitude. I'll take care of it for you right away."

Ye Feng then toned down his imposing manner and softened his tone: "In business, one shouldn't be too greedy. To those who understand, all money is the same."

The shopkeeper gave him a grateful look: "Sir, you are so understanding! How about this, no matter how many roses are left, I will give them to you for free!"

Ye Feng shook his head: "I don't need that many, just enough for the two bouquets I ordered before."

With the matter resolved, Ye Feng wasn't in a hurry to leave, so he simply chatted idly in the shop.

"Does that customer order flowers every day?" Ye Feng asked casually.

"Yes," the shopkeeper replied while arranging the bouquets, "one bouquet every day, rain or shine."

Ye Feng became interested: "Where are they all being sent?"

“That building across the street,” the boss pointed out the window, “is where we deliver it.”

"That building across the street..." Ye Feng murmured to himself, his gaze drifting out the window to the headquarters of the Liu Group.

He remembered that Qin Yifei had been back in China for half a month and had been sending him flowers every day.

Are these flowers for Qingyi?

Ye Feng felt uncomfortable.

The shop owner was busy bandaging the remaining roses when he noticed that Ye Feng's expression was a little off, so he tentatively asked, "Sir, does your girlfriend work at Liu's?"

Ye Feng snapped out of his reverie, smiled, and neither admitted nor denied it: "I work over there."

Upon hearing this, the boss immediately perked up: "The Liu family's daughters are all incredibly beautiful and of high quality. Many of the young men in this neighborhood have their eyes on them."

Ye Feng smiled wryly: "What should I do if someone really pursues my girlfriend like this?"
