Wang Da's teeth were chattering from the cold. If it weren't for the need for food, he'd be even angrier. The two of them flung open the door and rushed next door. "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Wang Da pounded on the door violently. The children inside were startled, their faces filled with terror.

Chengcheng and Xiaocao exchanged a glance, then quickly hugged the smaller ones to comfort them. Only Mutou remained staring blankly, looking innocent and fearless.

Tie Tou mustered his courage and rushed into the yard, shouting, "What are you doing? Who are you looking for?"

Wang Da peeked through the crack in the door, feigning a relaxed smile, and said in a gentle voice, "Young man, we live next door to you and haven't eaten for three days. Were you steaming buns just now? Can you lend us a few? We'll return them to you in a few days, okay?"

"Borrow my ass!" Tie Tou said, "We've already finished eating." Tie Tou isn't stupid. Why would he knock on the door so aggressively? Is that how you borrow money?

The children remained silent, and the man wouldn't leave. Tie Tou went to the kitchen, grabbed a fire poker, and pointed it at the door, looking lost. They stood there, locked in a standoff.

The courtyard they found on the first day of the Lunar New Year wasn't exactly remote; it was just across the road and belonged to someone else's backyard. The brothers' shouting woke up the old lady next door. She opened the back door with a creak and peeked out. Seeing that it was the notoriously lazy and unruly man, she closed the door without a word, and then there was a deathly silence; she never made a sound again.

Wang Da turned his head and looked at the tightly closed door across the street. He grinned and lowered his voice to Chengcheng, saying, "Hey, little brother, open the door. I promise it won't be anything bad." This damn door looks old and dilapidated, and I've been trying to open it for ages, but it won't budge.

Wang Da saw that Chengcheng and Tietou were ignoring him and not saying a word. Boring!

"Second brother, use a little more force!" Then she turned to scold her younger brother.

"Forget it, let's go back." Wang's brain raced for a moment, then he gave Wang Er a wink. Wang Er immediately understood and said loudly, "Oh no, I can't open it, let's go back."

The two left and returned to their own yard. Seeing that the people were gone, Tie Tou and the others breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, the older brother had reinforced the door, otherwise it would have been troublesome. They went back to their room to comfort the frightened children.

Wang Da and his companion crouched low in the wall, peeking through the cracks. When they saw the child return to the house, they brought over a table. The two of them climbed onto the table first. The wall wasn't very high, and Wang Er steadily supported Wang Da, who then climbed over the wall. Unfortunately, there was nothing to step on at the corner of the child's house. After assessing the height, Wang Da gritted his teeth and jumped down.

Now only Chengcheng was left, and he didn't even try to dodge. Wang Da was quite surprised to see the child's hands trembling.

"You're all big bad guys!" Chengcheng rushed up, whipping Wang Da with a tree branch. Wang Da tried to grab him, but Chengcheng didn't flinch and instead bit Wang Da's arm.

"Damn, he's got a tough one! You little brat, you dare bite me!" Wang Da was furious. He grabbed Chengcheng's neck and slapped him across the face. Chengcheng's face visibly swelled up immediately, but he didn't let go.

Wang Da endured the pain, and "slap slap slap!" he slapped several more times across the face.

With tears streaming down his face, Tie Tou rushed over and, just like Cheng Cheng, bit Wang Da.

The grass next to them also started to grow.

"Let go of my brother!" Wang Er, who was standing nearby, got anxious and went up to pull Tie Tou away. Xiao Cao tried to pull Wang Er away, and the group got into a tangled mess. Wang Er turned around and slapped Xiao Cao so hard that she was dizzy.
