Rebirth of a Top Student's Handbook

Chapter 7 Those Shameless Classmates

Looking at the diary in her hand, Zhou Min decided to burn it; it was too offensive to her eyes.

Full of a young girl's secret crush, with an air of unwavering devotion, as if she would only part from him once mountains crumbled and the heavens and earth united.

However, after Zhou Min realized that he had truly wronged her, she immediately blocked Xu Lingyuan and gave him a hard time at the class reunion.

Ultimately, the truly heartless one is Zhou Min herself. But regardless, it was because of Xu Lingyuan that Zhou Min took so many detours, so she has no intention of forgiving him.

Zhou Min gripped the notebook tightly, planning to take it home over the weekend and deal with it all at once.

Thinking about going home, Zhou Min couldn't help but wonder how her mother was doing, how her baby was doing, and whether her husband had discovered she was missing.

The more Zhou Min thought about it, the more agitated she became. She covered her head with the blanket, trying to escape the thought. Maybe this was a parallel universe, and she had returned. Everything from the past no longer existed, and everything started anew.

After convincing herself of this, Zhou Min felt much more relaxed.

The next day, as soon as it was light, Zhou Min finished breakfast and on her way to the classroom saw many classmates gathered around the bulletin board. Zhou Min remembered that it was where the report cards were posted, so it seemed that the exam rankings were being announced.

Looking at the layers of people surrounding the bulletin board, Zhou Min decided to go check it out when it was quieter at noon.

As soon as I stepped into the classroom, I heard Xu Li's rough, duck-like voice.

Xu Li clearly developed early, and his voice, which had entered puberty too early, was really unpleasant to hear in this classroom.

Xu Li clearly saw Zhou Min too: "Zhou Min, you did exceptionally well on this exam, did you know that?"

Upon hearing this, she realized it was another instance of mockery, because Zhou Min had an outgoing personality and always easily became friends with her classmates.

But at this moment, Zhou Min only wanted to say: Please walk away gracefully. Other girls who didn't do well on exams at least had the right to be comforted, unlike her.

She glared at Xu Li and said, "Mind your own business, you duck." Pouting as she listened to Xu Li's arrogant laughter, Zhou Min walked straight to her seat, sat down, took out a book, opened it, and started reading.

Her back was being tickled again. Zhou Min turned her head slightly to listen to Xu Lingyuan say cheerfully, "Are you angry because you didn't do well on the test? This isn't like you."

"..." Zhou Min immediately returned all the novels she had cleaned out last night to Xu Lingyuan, saying as she handed them to him, "Here you go, and don't talk to me anymore."

After saying that, she turned around, not wanting to see his expression at all.

"What book? Let me see it." I heard Chen Sheng calling from behind.

"What book? I want to read it too." Xu Li was immediately drawn in as well.

"Let me take a look too. I've been so bored lately. Can I borrow a few books?" Zhu Da also came over.

......

Listening to their noisy chatter, Zhou Min felt a little embarrassed. A large group of boys were reading the same romance novel as her, especially since it contained some indescribable content; the more she thought about it, the more awkward she became.

Thinking of this, Zhou Min turned around and yelled, "Aren't you all bored? This is a book for girls, a bunch of sissies."

“Look, what sissy has a beard like mine?” Xu Li stretched out his head, showing Zhou Min his early-grown beard, looking quite smug.

"How disgusting! Your beard just makes you look filthy. Anyone who wants to see it can borrow it from a bookstore. This is mine, I'm not lending it to you," Zhou Min replied, leaning back. Then she turned back to continue reading.

"Don't be so stingy! I'll lend you the book next time," Zhu Da pleaded as he ran over.

"No, go away, don't disturb my studies."

Zhou Min thought to herself, "I don't believe your nonsense. Do you think I don't know that you're just pretending not to study and being playful, but actually you study harder than anyone else when you get home?"

Haha, I already know you've finished all your assignments ahead of schedule.

"Zhou Min, when are you going to return my book to me?" Zhou Min turned around abruptly upon hearing Chen Sheng's voice.

It was about books again. After they got together, Chen Sheng had mocked him countless times for not returning a martial arts novel he'd borrowed. But he genuinely didn't remember it.

"You two, give the book back to me right now."

Zhou Min didn't care whether the book was in their hands or not; she didn't have it herself anyway. If she had really borrowed the book, then it must have been borrowed by the two of them.

Because only those two, who clearly study hard, pretend to be geniuses every day. They don't study, yet their grades are always among the best. They borrow extracurricular books from me every day, but who knows if they actually read them?

"Let me watch it for a few more days," Zhu Da pleaded.

"No, give them all back right now, immediately!" Who knew how many extracurricular books they still had in their hands?

Perhaps Zhou Min's voice was a bit loud, because it attracted everyone's attention in the classroom. One after another, many other students came to return the books, and Zhu Da and Xu Li had no choice but to return them as well.

Sure enough, Zhou Min found a martial arts novel in Zhu Da's book collection. It turned out that her husband had really lost the book. That wretched Zhu Da made her take the blame for him.

The remaining books include a few detective novels, a few world classics, and the rest are teaching materials.

These materials were all sent by Zhou Min's uncle. I remember that most of the materials were in the hands of my deskmate.

Remembering how rude she was to her yesterday, Zhou Min wasn't going to let her get away with it. She tapped on Lin Xin's desk and said, "Where are my books? Give them all back to me. I need to compile them."

"I left it at home, I'll give it to you this afternoon." Lin Xin was clearly reluctant to part with it.

Zhou Min didn't care about any of that. Anyway, you two won't have any contact with your sister anymore, so she wasn't going to spoil you.

As for Chen Sheng, Zhou Min said, "Isn't he just born to be bullied by me?"

Thinking of this, Zhou Min shouted, "Who else borrowed my books? Return them right now!"

A few more people came to return the books, and a few others said they had left the books at home and brought them over in the afternoon.

Zhou Min cleared out all the extracurricular books and returned them to Xu Lingyuan.

Looking at so many extracurricular books, Zhou Min was speechless. Just how many bookstores did Xu Lingyuan borrow books from for her? It seems that the most books you can borrow at one time are 10.

Suddenly, I realized that I used to be quite shameless, lending Xu Lingyuan's things to others everywhere.

But then I thought about how Xu Lingyuan had misled me and felt that he deserved it, and I felt better.

Zhou Min spent the morning studying diligently. After lunch, she took advantage of the lunch break to go to the bulletin board.

There were very few people left at the bulletin board, since only those who care about grades and being on the honor roll would come to look, and these people probably came and looked around by noon.

The school would post an honor roll for every important exam, selecting the top fifty students in the entire school, and the ranking of each exam would determine the seating order for the next exam.

Looking at her ranking of 46th, Zhou Min realized that she would have to take the exam in the second exam room next time. This was the first time she had ever left the first exam room.

The thought that she too would end up like this made Zhou Min regret her decision to do the questions from the People's Education Press textbook.

My best subject, math, dragged down my score by so much. Now I'll have to be watched by everyone in the second exam room next time.
