Reborn in the Apocalypse: A Commoner's Survival Log

Chapter 300 Choosing an auspicious day to send them on their way

Not far from the villa, Zhang Mei bumped into Zhang Li, who had looked at the rooms on the east side and then chased after her.

Zhang Li spotted her sister and her face lit up with joy: "Sister! Is my brother-in-law home? I was retaliated against by Xie Feiyu and those newcomers, and I've been really hurt by their family. Can you let me stay here temporarily? The room on the east side is really too shabby and small, I can't stay here."

"I don't know! Go ask them yourself!"

Zhang Mei was incredibly annoyed and had no time to deal with her sister, who was indifferent to her brother's disappearance and only cared about her house. She casually dismissed her sister and turned to leave.

Watching Zhang Mei storm off, Zhang Li was completely bewildered. She muttered to herself, "Such a bad temper. No wonder my brother-in-law got snatched away by that vixen!"

He stood there for a while, then ran to the villa entrance, asked the guards, and learned that Xing Tian was inside. He then went straight in.

Since she often comes here, the two guards on duty didn't stop her.

Zhang Li, familiar with the area, wandered around the first floor, but not finding Xing Tian downstairs, went straight upstairs.

……

Zhou Yang and his group on the other end were unaware of Xing Tian's situation.

After Xie Feiyu's men emptied the house, they took the keys and moved in.

The bed that Zhang Li used in the master bedroom was left unused by Zhou Yang and the others, who simply threw it into the second bedroom for Cui Ze to use, while they put the bed that they had put away before leaving the house on their own.

Cui Ze wasn't picky; having a bed to sleep in was already a blessing. Even if it had been slept in by a woman he disliked, or even by a dead zombie, he could clean it up and sleep in it.

After settling in, it was already evening. The three of them used the supplies given to them by the guards to make a simple pot of noodles for dinner.

After the meal, Cui Ze, being very perceptive, took the initiative to wash the pots and pans.

This two-bedroom apartment is small, with only one shared bathroom, so people have to take turns using it.

Zhou Yang then went to wash up first.

Shen Zechuan was placed after Zhou Yang.

After the two of them finished washing up, Cui Ze also finished cleaning up the kitchen. After a quick wash, he said goodbye to Zhou Yang and Shen Zechuan, and then quickly returned to his second bedroom. As soon as he closed the door, he threw himself onto the bed, hugged the thin blanket, and rolled around.

He hadn't slept in a bed for over two years, and he missed it terribly.

Zhou Yang and Shen Zechuan did not linger in the living room. After leaving Xiao Hu in the living room to watch the door, the two went back to their room to rest.

But it's only a little past 7 p.m., still very early, so I can't fall asleep at all.

Remembering that he hadn't visited the three people in the space for a long time, Zhou Yang worried that they might have starved to death there, so he pulled Shen Zechuan directly into the space.

When the two opened their eyes again, they were already deep in the mountains.

Apart from Li Nian, who was suspended with his collarbones pierced, the other two were still lying on the ground.

However, I woke up in the middle of the night, so I moved everything and changed my lying position.

But at this moment, the three of them, whether from hunger or something else, did not open their eyes even when Zhou Yang and the other person walked up to them.

Hey, did they all really starve to death?

Zhou Yang stepped forward and checked his breathing.

Thankfully, they're all still alive; they must have fainted from hunger. It makes sense, though. The airflow in this space is about three times faster than outside; after six days of starvation, even a cow would collapse.

Of the three, Li Nian's breathing was particularly weak. He had been starving for so many days and had lost too much blood due to having his collarbone pierced. He could probably be killed with a single kick now.

Tsk, we can't let them just fall asleep and die so easily.

Zhou Yang used his mind to fetch a bucket of water from the fishpond, and splashed it all over the three of them, one ladleful at a time.

The three people who were in a deep sleep finally slowly opened their eyes.

Having been tied up here for an unknown amount of time, with no food or water, the three of them were both hungry and thirsty.

Zhang Chengshan and Liu Feng were alright; although their hands and feet were tied, at least they were on the ground and could nibble on some grass when they were starving.

Li Nian, however, was suspended in mid-air, and hadn't had a drop of water left. So when he woke up and felt the water on his face flowing to his mouth, his first instinct was to lick it off.

But these few drops of water are hardly enough to quench thirst; they go in without even tasting anything.

The three of them opened their eyes groggily and saw the two people standing in front of them.

Li Nian, being suspended, had the clearest view. Looking at the two complete strangers in front of him, it took him a while to muster the strength to ask, "Who are you?"

Zhou Yang tilted her head and glanced at Li Nian: "You don't need to know who we are, as long as you don't know we're here to escape debts."

After saying that, he scooped up a ladle of water and poured it hard into Li Nian's mouth.

Just now, he suddenly thought of a good way for Li Nian to die, so now he not only doesn't have to kill him, but also has to keep him alive until that day.

Li Nian choked on the sudden water and coughed for a while before recovering: "Cough cough, I, cough, I don't know you..."

However, Zhou Yang ignored him and turned to pick up the water ladle filled with water and walk towards the other two people.

At this moment, Li Chengshan and Liu Feng on the ground also tried hard to raise their heads to see the two people clearly, but because they were lying down, no matter how hard they tried, they could only see the tops of the two people's shoes.

"Release me right now! Do you know who my sister and brother-in-law are? Once they catch you, you're dead."

Compared to Liu Feng's weakness and fear that prevented him from speaking, Li Chengshan, the evolved being, was clearly much more energetic and could still confidently argue with them. It seemed that he wouldn't die even if he starved for a few more days.

So Zhou Yang took the water ladle and walked right past Li Chengshan, only giving Liu Feng a ladleful of water before returning to Li Chengshan.

"You don't actually think that Xing Tian will value you more just because you have that sister of yours, do you?"

Li Chengshan stared wide-eyed in disbelief: "You know who I am, yet you still dare to kidnap me? Are you out of your minds?"

Zhou Yang chuckled and didn't explain further. After confirming that the three people wouldn't die anytime soon, he picked up the bucket and turned to leave with Shen Zechuan, completely ignoring Li Chengshan, who was asking for water again after his threat failed.

After leaving the deep mountains, the two did not leave the space, but instead one of them teleported directly into the small building.

When Zhou Yang was playing tricks on the three of them, Shen Zechuan didn't ask any questions. Now that the two of them were lying alone on the bed, he finally asked, "Weren't you in a hurry for revenge? Then why are you keeping these three around?"

Zhou Yang smiled and said, "It's nothing. I just want to wait for an auspicious day before sending them on their way."

The first rain after this extreme heat should come in the next day or two.

On that very day, let's send these three people on their way.
