Reborn in the Apocalypse: A Commoner's Survival Log

In the high-rise residential buildings, the windows of most households were tightly closed. Although it was not very clear, bloodstains could still be seen on the windows of several households, suggesting that the situation was likely dire.

Across the street, a male zombie was wandering aimlessly in the house, seemingly about to attack if he didn't see any living people. It seemed he was either a bachelor or his family was hiding well.

Switching to the villa area to the south, Zhou Yang turned his head and saw a naked man with dyed blond hair running out of one of the villas. His neck and body were covered in blood, and two naked women with distorted faces were chasing after him, screaming incessantly.

This is clearly a rich kid having a threesome. He's really messed up now; both women have turned into zombies.

The man tried to escape from the villa's courtyard, but before he could even open the gate, one of the female zombies pounced on him and bit his neck.

Another female zombie seized the opportunity to pounce on the man and bite his stomach. Blood splattered everywhere, and his intestines were pulled out. The man stopped struggling after a few moments.

After more than ten minutes, the man who had been bitten and mangled stood up again, trembling. But now he was no longer human; he had been infected by the virus and turned into a zombie.

Having lost the presence of a fresh human, the two female zombies also stood up.

Three zombies began to wander around the yard.

If it weren't for the bloodstains all over his body and the beginning of his decay, it would look like he was strolling through his own garden.

With a sigh, Zhou Yang reluctantly put down the binoculars.

After observing the general condition of the entire community, Zhou Yang turned around and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

Although the zombies eating people I just saw were disgusting, I still have to eat breakfast.

Zhou Yang simply fried two eggs produced in the space, along with a few slices of bacon, and made two sandwiches with lettuce and cucumbers grown in the space.

While eating a sandwich, I considered whether I should go out again.

The zombies are currently at their weakest, and most haven't yet ventured outside, making it relatively safe. This is also the best time to practice killing zombies.

Zhou Yang hadn't planned to stay home indefinitely. After all, having an endless supply of resources without leaving the house would only make him a target. He needed to go out and gather supplies regularly to avoid attracting attention, and encountering zombies was inevitable.

In the early stages, he might be able to find supplies on his own, but as the zombies gradually become stronger and various mutated plants and animals appear, he'll have to team up with others to get out. If he's timid and doesn't even dare to fight zombies, no team will want him.

After much thought, Zhou Yang decided to go out and practice fighting zombies, and also pick up some supplies.

After finishing breakfast, Zhou Yang dug out his previous travel gear, fully armed himself, slung his backpack over his shoulder, took a few self-defense weapons, and headed out.

This time, he didn't choose to take the elevator, but instead climbed down the stairs.

The reason for not taking the elevator is that he is unsure if there are zombies in the underground parking lot, and the noise from the elevator going down will attract zombies. If a few zombies rush in as soon as the elevator doors open, he will be in a very passive position and the risk will be greater.

Climbing the building is tiring and slow, but it's more beneficial for you. You can also check out the situation inside the building and deal with any zombies you find.

Across from his house was an empty house; although it had been renovated, no one had ever lived there. The four floors above it had also remained uninhabited.

So he can just go down the stairs. The 12th, 8th, 5th and 2nd floors are occupied, so he can focus on observing them.

Zhou Yang made it down to the 12th floor without any problems.

It seems like a young couple lives on this floor. They've probably just gotten married, and I even saw they have a child.

Zhou Yang tiptoed to the door, and upon hearing no sound from inside, left. Anyway, the zombies were pretty stupid in the early stages; they wouldn't open doors, and if the people inside turned into zombies, they wouldn't be able to get out.

Then he went to the 8th floor, the 5th floor, and the 2nd floor. All three apartments had their doors tightly closed and there was no sound.

Zhou Yang breathed a sigh of relief. Regardless of what was happening to the people inside, the fact that there was no movement was a good thing.

Upon arriving on the first floor, Zhou Yang first checked whether the main entrance door was intact before heading directly to the underground parking lot via the stairs.

The entrance on the first floor and the entrance to the underground parking lot of this building were closed when Zhou Yang returned yesterday. Since everyone has access cards, they can swipe them to enter and exit. Closing them can actually prevent the zombies outside from coming in.

Upon arriving at the entrance to the underground parking lot, Zhou Yang took a breath and, seeing no movement outside, carefully opened the door.

It was relatively quiet outside, with only occasional shouts and the sound of something being hit coming from a distance.

It seems there are still zombies.

Zhou Yang gripped the fire axe and slowly walked towards the direction from which the sound came. Finally, at the other end of the underground parking lot, he found three zombies—a family of three—who were currently wandering around several cars.

They must have just returned the night before last, but they collapsed here before they could even get home.

Zhou Yang held his breath, thinking of you, and cautiously approached. Before the zombies could react, he chopped down the male zombie with an axe, smashing his head open without any mercy.

Perhaps he was inexperienced, or perhaps he used too much force, but the zombie's head was split in half, and red and white brain matter instantly spilled all over the ground.

Zhou Yang shook his slightly numb arms and felt that his exercise had some effect. It wasn't this easy when he killed his first zombie in his previous life.

Just then, two other zombies, one large and one small, heard the sound and smelled the scent of a living person on Zhou Yang. They roared and pounced on him.

Zhou Yang kicked the little zombie aside and swung his axe at the same time, chopping down on the female zombie's head, killing her instantly.

With only one little zombie left, Zhou Yang felt a pang of pity.

This is a little girl who has just mutated into a zombie. She looks only five or six years old. She has large holes in her neck and hands, and the blood flowing out has stained her white princess dress red.

This was clearly caused by her parents biting her.

With a sigh, though reluctant, Zhou Yang gave the little girl a quick death. Only complete death was her best fate.

They found the car keys on the male zombie, then located the family's car, placed the little girl's body in the back seat, and locked it.

Let this car be the child's resting place.

Afterwards, Zhou Yang searched the parking lot again and killed two more zombies. He also released and dealt with the one that he had trapped in the driver's seat. He also took one of the zombies' SUVs with him.

Once he was sure there were no zombies left in the basement, Zhou Yang returned to his parking space, got in his car, and drove off.
