Reborn in the Apocalypse: A Commoner's Survival Log

Chapter 159 Good brothers are going to slaughter pigs together!

When Shen Zechuan returned to the room, Zhou Yang was no longer there. Knowing that she must have been furious and hidden in her spatial dimension, he didn't follow her in directly. Instead, he touched his nose, started making the bed, and then cleaned the room again.

Judging by the time, Zhou Yang had been in the space for more than an hour, and should have calmed down quite a bit before he slipped into the space.

Whether it was because he hadn't been in contact with the space for long or something else, he couldn't perceive everything in the space with his mind like Zhou Yang. So he wandered around the space for a long time before finally finding the young man sitting with his legs crossed, watching the deer drinking water down the mountain on a small hill behind the mountain.

"Are you calm now?" Shen Zechuan stepped forward, squatted down, and gently pulled the person into his arms from behind.

Zhou Yang had noticed the person had entered the space early on, and deliberately hid here to watch him search for him everywhere in the space. Now that he had seen it all, he was indeed less angry, so he just snorted and didn't say anything more.

Seeing this, Shen Zechuan naturally understood that he had overcome this hurdle, breathed a sigh of relief, and sat down beside him.

"By the way, are there any wild beasts in the mountains?"

Zhou Yang thought for a moment and said, "No, when the two spaces were first merged, I sensed them and found that there were only these docile herbivores inside. There were no large carnivores, so the previous owner probably never kept them."

Shen Zechuan nodded: "That's good." Otherwise, he wouldn't feel at ease if the young man got angry and hid in the deep mountains of the space.

Zhou Yang got tired of watching the deer drink water, so he patted his bottom and stood up. Suddenly, he remembered that he had raised so many pigs that it was time to slaughter them. So he turned to look at Shen Zechuan, his free laborer.

Shen Zechuan was taken aback by Zhou Yang's gaze, and suddenly felt a chill run down his spine: "Wh...what's wrong?"

Zhou Yang grinned: "Do you know how to butcher a pig?"

Shen Zechuan: "Huh?"

Before he could even react, Zhou Yang pulled him and teleported him to the entrance of the pigsty, where he was dumbfounded to see dozens of black and white pigs, each as big as an ox.

"Come on, catch two pigs! One black and one white! Good luck, I'll go get the things ready."

With that, Zhou Yang tossed a piece of paper with a pig-slaughtering guide written on it to Shen Zechuan, then ran off, leaving Shen Zechuan staring blankly at dozens of pigs.

Shen Zechuan took the paper and glanced at it, then looked at the back in disbelief: ? ? ? !!! !

Step 1: Clean the neck and drain the pig's blood.

Step 2: Give the pig a hot bath to remove its hair.

Step 3: Opening up the abdomen.

That's it?? Was this guide really that hastily prepared?

Not even a single picture?

Shen Zechuan was a bit overwhelmed, but since his wife had already given the instructions, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it.

He took a deep breath and entered the pigpen. He picked the fattest pig from each of the two groups of pigs, then stunned them with an electric baton before dragging them out of the pigpen.

Just as he finally managed to drag the pig to the flat ground outside, Zhou Yang came out of the small building carrying a basket of tools and a huge stainless steel basin.

After putting the pig down, Shen Zechuan looked at the stainless steel basin in Zhou Yang's hand with a puzzled expression: "Are you going to use this basin to bathe the pig? Isn't it too small?"

"Huh? This basin is for draining pig's blood... What you mean by 'bathing' is probably after the pig has been bled, you dig a big pit, line it with a waterproof plastic sheet, and pour boiling water into it to scald the pig's hair."

"I see. So what do we do now? Just bleed him out?"

“I’ll get a higher platform first, and you can put the pigs on it. Even though you’ve stunned them with electricity, they’re still not very stable. If they wake up halfway through, they’ll splatter blood all over you, so we need to tie them up first.”

As Zhou Yang spoke, he reached out and took out a long table. As soon as he put it down, he called out again, "Ah Hu, come and help me tie up the two pigs, and then drag this white one onto the table first."

Shen Zechuan was wondering who Ah Hu was when two thick vines suddenly sprang out from behind him and quickly tied the two pigs into two green pillars, leaving only their heads sticking out. Then they dragged the white pig all the way to the long table.

It took him a while to realize that it must be a mutated ivy that Zhou Yang had tamed, only it was obviously much thicker than the one he had seen outside.

Zhou Yang handed Shen Zechuan a clean rag and a pig-slaughtering knife, and then kicked over the stainless steel basin that already contained some water.

"Here, I'll leave the task of slitting the pig's throat to bleed it to you. Remember to put all the blood in this stainless steel basin. After this one is bled, have Ah Hu switch to the black pig. Don't worry, Ah Hu understands you. I'll go boil some water now."

After saying that, Zhou Yang turned and went back to the small building to boil water. Ah, having a boyfriend is so great! From now on, I'll leave all the bloodletting stuff to him! He just needs to boil the water.

Seeing Zhou Yang disappear from sight, Shen Zechuan sighed, picked up a rag and wiped the pig's neck clean. Then he placed the stainless steel basin underneath and made a slit in the white pig's carotid artery. However, due to his lack of experience, the stainless steel basin was placed too close, and the pig's blood spurted too fast and went a bit too far at first. He quickly moved the basin a little further away.

After the blood was drained, the white pig woke up in pain. Fortunately, Ah Hu tied it up tightly, and Shen Zechuan only needed to hold the pig's head in place to easily control it.

Once the white pig stopped struggling, it had bled almost all of its blood.

Shen Zechuan then had Ah Hu replace the pig with another black pig and did the same thing.

When Zhou Yang came out again, both pigs had been drained of blood and were twitching on the ground from time to time.

So he immediately dug a large pit next to it with his mind, covered it with a plastic film, and began to pour boiling water into it.

After they had poured enough water, he said to Shen Zechuan, "Alright, throw the pig in and scald its hair."

Shen Zechuan then dragged over two more half-dead pigs and threw them in one by one.

"The fur will fall out after being permed?"

"Of course not. After it's almost done scalding, you'll have to go down and pluck the pig hair!" Zhou Yang smiled, then took out a pair of tweezers specifically for plucking pig hair and handed them to Shen Zechuan.

Shen Zechuan took the tweezers as if struck by lightning. Looking at the countless pig hairs on the two pigs, he felt for the first time that there was no hope in life.

He secretly made a decision in his heart: next time he wanted to slaughter a pig, he would not do it in the space, but would find an open space outside and let his brothers experience the fun of slaughtering a pig!

Good brothers should slaughter pigs together!

Finally, by the time Shen Zechuan finished plucking the pig bristles, he couldn't even look at them anymore; the sight of them made him want to vomit.

But even after doing this much, there was still a lot of work left. He still had to follow the video Zhou Yang had given him to gut the pig, separate the internal organs and fat, and then cut the meat into pieces.

The worst part was cleaning pig intestines. He had to plug his nose while washing them, but even that couldn't stop the unique stench of the intestines. He almost gagged several times.

I never realized how difficult it is to clean this stuff when I ate it before, but I only found out today after washing it myself...

Zhou Yang wanted to help clean the pig intestines, but Shen Zechuan insisted that he could do it himself, so he happily ate sunflower seeds and chuckled to himself.

What he really wanted to say was that the pigs in this space ate cleanly and simply, and their taste was much milder than that of the pigs outside.
