Touya Yaoyao

Chapter 149: Trying to cover up the obvious

Just as Bai Taoya and Ye Qijia were at their wits' end with their investigation stalled, a suffocating silence filled the room. They sat in the living room, looking at each other, neither of them able to utter a word.

Suddenly, a soft knock broke the silence. The two exchanged a glance, both seemingly seeing surprise and confusion in each other's eyes. Shirato hesitated for a moment, then finally stood up and slowly walked towards the door.

When he opened the door, a strange figure appeared before him. The visitor wore a black trench coat and a wide-brimmed hat, completely obscuring his face. Shiratoya felt a surge of wariness, but still politely asked, "May I ask who you are?"

The visitor did not answer immediately, but remained silent for a moment before slowly raising his head, revealing a pale and slightly gaunt face. His eyes were deep and sharp, as if they could see through everything.

Shirato was initially a little sleepy, but upon seeing the young man's appearance, his eyes snapped open, and his body jolted as if struck by lightning. He quickly stood up, his face showing urgency, and hurriedly invited the young man into the house.

Upon entering the room, Shiratoya quickly walked to the water dispenser, poured a glass of water, and handed it to the young man, saying with concern, "Have some water first, calm yourself down." The young man took the glass, gave Shiratoya a grateful look, and then drank it all in one gulp.

After the young man calmed down a bit, Shiro Momoya pulled up a chair, sat opposite him, looked at him earnestly, and encouraged him:

"Don't be anxious, speak slowly."

The young man glanced at Shiratoshi casually, then sat down on the sofa with a nonchalant air. He looked at Shiratoshi's scrutinizing expression and remained silent for a while. Then, he finally spoke slowly.

His voice was low and tinged with barely perceptible tension: "I used to be a lowly henchman on the fringes of the 'Shadow Gang'."

Shirotoya nodded, signaling him to continue. The young man paused, wiped his nose with his finger, and then said:

“I spent some time in the gang and witnessed some of their evil deeds firsthand. I couldn’t stand it anymore and always wanted to find an opportunity to leave the organization.”

His tone revealed his disgust and dissatisfaction with the "Shadow Gang." Shiratoshi frowned and pressed for an answer:

"If that's the case, why are you only stepping forward now?"

The young man looked at Bai Taoshi critically and couldn't help but sneer, "The Shadow Gang is a big and powerful organization. Do you think I, an ordinary person, would stand up and seek death? I recently heard that the police are investigating the Shadow Gang, and I think this is an opportunity. Moreover, my sense of justice keeps telling me that I can't let these bad guys continue to get away with it. That's why I decided to stand up."

He lowered his voice mysteriously, as if afraid of being overheard, and revealed, "The criminal organization has an extremely secretive transaction location, in that abandoned factory on the eastern outskirts of the city." He paused for a moment, then continued, "Every month on the night of the full moon, they conduct some shady transactions of contraband there."

Upon hearing this, Bai Taoyi and Ye Qijia exchanged a glance, their eyes gleaming with excitement and anticipation. This news was undoubtedly a major breakthrough for them, perhaps helping them uncover the true face of the criminal organization and find the mastermind who had been hiding behind the scenes.

However, they were also well aware of the dangers of this operation. After all, the abandoned factory was the lair of the criminal organization, undoubtedly teeming with traps and spies. A single misstep could not only lead to mission failure but also jeopardize their own safety.

After careful consideration and meticulous discussion, Bai Taoshi and Ye Qijia finally decided to launch their operation on the night of the full moon. To ensure absolute success, they devised a detailed plan. On one hand, they would send an elite team to quietly infiltrate the vicinity of the abandoned factory, closely monitoring every move inside, ensuring they did not alert the enemy. On the other hand, they would continue to thoroughly investigate suspicious individuals within the organization to prevent any traitors from tipping off the criminal group.

Everything was ready, awaiting only the arrival of the full moon. Both Shirato and the Ye family were filled with tension and anticipation, hoping the operation would be a complete success and that the criminal organization would be wiped out.

The night of the full moon finally arrived, and Shirato Ya led a team of elite police officers, stealthily infiltrating the vicinity of the abandoned factory like ghosts. The moonlight, like water, shone on the dilapidated factory buildings, making the already eerie environment even more sinister.

Shirato and his team, clad in black combat uniforms, blended seamlessly into the surrounding darkness. They lay motionless in the grass, seemingly one with the land. Each gripped their weapon tightly, their eyes fixed intently on the factory gate, not daring to relax for a moment.

Time ticked by, and midnight quietly arrived. Suddenly, the soft sound of an engine broke the stillness of the night. Several black sedans, like ghosts, slowly drove into the factory. After the cars came to a stop, the doors opened, and several burly men stepped out.

These burly men were all tall and muscular, exuding a strong sense of intimidation. They warily surveyed their surroundings, their weapons gleaming coldly in the moonlight. After confirming that there was nothing amiss, one of them stepped forward and opened the factory gate, while the rest filed in.

Through his binoculars, Shirato Ya observed everything. He carefully watched the burly men's every move, secretly calculating the best time to act.

Just then, a globally limited edition luxury car slowly drove up, the door opened, and a tall, muscular man in a black suit and sunglasses stepped out.

His demeanor and bearing exuded an air of authority, and behind him followed a group of equally tall and muscular bodyguards who tightly surrounded the man, forming an impenetrable wall. Although he had never met this big shot before, Bai Taoya had a gut feeling that this was the big shot they were looking for.

Just as the police were preparing to take action, Bai Taoyi's phone suddenly vibrated. He was startled, worried that the plan had been leaked. He opened his phone and saw a message from Ye Qijia: "Suspicious activity detected within the organization; someone is suspected of tipping you off. Be careful of ambushes."

Shirato's expression instantly turned serious; he realized the situation was more complicated than he had imagined. He quickly adjusted his battle plan, ordering one group of officers to continue monitoring the factory while he led another group to the rear of the factory to prevent the enemy from escaping from the rear.
