146. Drunk

Su Jinru's heart was pounding wildly.

"You...drink too much!"

Yuan Wenjie smiled slyly: "Yes! I drank too much. You should know that when a man drinks too much, he can't control himself and will do some things."

He was clearly not drunk at all; he was perfectly sober.

He did it on purpose.

Su Jinru didn't know what to say. She could only feel that his body was like a small fireball, getting hotter and hotter.

Her own cheeks and body also became burning hot.

She was almost melting from his charm.

This was something she had never felt before.

He whispered in her ear, "We've already wasted so much time. We can't afford to waste any more enjoying life. My job involves risking my life. Do you want me to leave with regrets? Don't you have any regrets...?"

His warm breath brushed against her ear and neck like a spring breeze.

But when he asked her if she wanted her to leave with regrets, she felt a pang of pain in her heart.

She wouldn't allow him to say that. They had finally managed to reunite, how could he say he wanted to leave!

He held her arm tightly, and she could only use her mouth to stop him from continuing.

He was instantly ignited, his lips burning hot, and she felt herself melting, turning into water...

Never mind, she was willing to be melted by him...

He led her, taking her to a realm she had never experienced before...

She was like a small boat tossed and turned in the waves...

Extreme madness and extreme pleasure...

It's like floating on clouds, a feeling of comfort that's almost unreal, like a dream...

When Su Jinru woke up, it was already broad daylight.

There was no one around her, and she even wondered if she had just had a dream last night.

But the slight pain in her body told her that it was all real.

Recalling what happened last night, she couldn't help but blush.

She never knew that the relationship between men and women could be so...wonderful, beyond simply procreation. This was a feeling she had never experienced before.

Su Jinru heard noises coming from the kitchen outside.

I don't know if it's An Xin or An Ran.

Since the two children stopped going to school, they have been cooking most of the time.

Su Jinru got dressed and went to the kitchen door, only to see Yuan Wenjie cooking alone inside.

He was wearing green military trousers and a white shirt, the sleeves rolled up high. He was scooping noodles from the pot and putting them into a bowl.

Because he was very tall, and the stove was a bit low, he bent over and did all this very carefully.

A soldier who once risked his life on the battlefield is now scooping noodles from a steaming pot. The extreme fortitude and extreme tenderness blend together, and this man gives people a shocking beauty.

Looking at his tall and straight figure, and thinking of last night, his firm and muscular skin, and the countless times he charged into battle, her face flushed slightly again.

He turned around, saw her, and said with a smile, "Get up!"

She had never realized that his smile could make people fall for him. Suddenly, she felt somewhat at a loss when facing him.

She tried to hide her embarrassment.

"You...can cook?"

"I'm so old, I don't have a wife, and I can't cook. What am I supposed to eat?"

"I thought you ate in the mess hall in the army."

"It's impossible to eat in the cafeteria every day! Like me, I'm always running around, so I can't eat in the cafeteria every meal."

"The noodles are ready. Go and wake the two children up for dinner."

The two children were still asleep; usually they would be up by now.

Oh, and the two kids drank alcohol last night too.

Su Jinru remembered that Yuan Wenjie had brought back the liquor, and it was a strong spirit.

All of this was his premeditated scheme.

Su Jinru didn't call the children. She knew her face must be red at this moment, and she felt embarrassed in front of them.

She went back to her room first, then went inside to wash up and get ready.

When I came out, the two children were already sitting around the table eating noodles.

An Xin said to Su Jinru, "Mom, come and eat noodles. Dad's noodles are delicious."

"There are poached eggs and sesame oil."

Su Jinru walked over and sat down next to Yuan Wenjie.

"You two drank last night, are you alright? Do you have a headache?"

An Ran shook her head, "Drinking such a small amount is fine."

An Xin: "My head doesn't hurt, but I'm a little dizzy, and I'm still dizzy now."

Su Jinru gave Yuan Wenjie a reproachful look.

"You are still minors, you can't drink anymore."

An Xin: "This wine is just so-so, not good. Besides being spicy, it's nothing special. I won't drink it again."

An Ran: "Perhaps it's the first time they've tasted it, and they haven't yet fully grasped its true flavor! Many literary figures have been inspired to write poetry after drinking it!"

Yuan Wenjie: "Yes, when I grow up and drink more, I will be able to truly understand the taste of wine."

As Yuan Wenjie spoke, he gave Su Jinru a meaningful look.

Su Jin was so frightened that she lowered her head and ate her noodles, not daring to respond to him.

An Xin: "Besides spicy, what other flavors are there?"

An Ran: "It's like eating chili peppers. People who like them find the spiciness very flavorful, while people who don't like spicy food naturally don't find chili peppers edible."

Yuan Wenjie: "Those literary figures and writers like to drink, not only because they like the spicy taste, but more importantly, because of the slightly tipsy feeling. Perhaps it is that feeling that inspires their creativity!"

Anxin: "Dad, I love listening to you talk. Will you be staying home with us these next few days?"

"Dad has nothing to do today, so he's staying home and not going anywhere. But he has to go out to run some errands tomorrow, and he might not be back for three to five days."

An Xin said disappointedly, "You're always so busy. You're gone for three years at a time, and when you come back for a day, you have to go out again."

Yuan Wenjie glanced at Su Jinru.

"Therefore, being a military family member is not easy. They make many sacrifices but receive very little companionship."

Su Jinru recalled what he had said last night.

You're not afraid that I'll leave with regrets, and you're not afraid of having regrets yourself.

She felt a pang of sadness.

"Now that there's no war, there shouldn't be any danger, right?"

"What soldier isn't in danger? We go wherever there's trouble, wherever there's danger."

"Will you be stationed in one place after joining the military, or will you be able to move around frequently?"

“Before, I was alone and it didn’t matter where I went. Now that I have a family to support, I have to reconsider and go to a place where I can stay long-term.”

Su Jinru: "Don't worry about us. Since we chose to be military family members, we can't hold you back. We will put you first."

"There is no war now, so it doesn't matter where I am stationed. There is no question of you holding me back. I chose the military profession, so I will do my duty to the best of my ability. I chose you as my family, so I will also be responsible for you. Both the country and the family are equally important. Without the country, there is no home, and without the home, there is no country."
