Huanzhu Time Travel: Yan Luo's Unbreakable Love in the Yong Dynasty

Chapter 267: Seeking Opportunity in Desperate Situations

Xiao Jian, Yong Qi, and Er Kang stood back to back, confronting the group of mysterious figures. The figures surrounded them, each with cold eyes and an aura of menace.

"Hmph, you think you can easily uncover our conspiracy? Today is your death day!" a mysterious man said viciously.

"Enough talk! Come at me if you dare!" Yongqi was fearless, gripping his sword tightly, ready to fight at any moment.

The battle erupted instantly, the mysterious figure swooping in like a ghost. Xiao Jian struck first, his swordsmanship flowing like water, each move precisely targeting the enemy's vitals. Yongqi and Erkang were not to be outdone; their teamwork with Xiao Jian was impeccable, and for a time, the mysterious figure struggled to break through their defenses.

However, the mysterious group was large in number and seemed to have undergone special training. As time went on, Xiao Jian and his companions gradually became exhausted.

"This can't go on. We need to think of a way to break through," Er Kang said, panting heavily.

While fending off the attacks, Xiao Jian observed his surroundings. Suddenly, he noticed a narrow alleyway not far away, which might be a way to break through.

"Yongqi, Erkang, I'll distract them for a bit. You two run into that alley and find a way to meet up when you get to a safe place," Xiao Jian said in a low voice.

“No, we can’t be separated, we have to go together!” Yongqi said firmly.

“There’s no time to argue. This is the best solution right now. We can’t all be trapped here; someone has to get the message out,” Xiao Jian said.

Yongqi and Erkang exchanged a glance and nodded helplessly.

Xiao Jian took a deep breath, then suddenly shouted and unleashed his ultimate move. His sword danced so fast and tight that the mysterious figures had to retreat in an instant.

"Hurry up!" Xiao Jian shouted.

Without hesitation, Yongqi and Erkang ran towards the alley. Seeing this, the mysterious man immediately sent a group of people to give chase.

Xiao Jian faced the remaining mysterious figures alone. He knew he had to buy time so that Yongqi and Erkang could escape safely. His swordsmanship became even more ferocious, each move executed with all his might, but the mysterious figures grew increasingly frenzied, their attacks becoming more and more intense.

Before long, Xiao Jian had several cuts and bruises. But he gritted his teeth and persevered, with only one belief in his heart: he must ensure that Yongqi and Erkang left safely.

Meanwhile, Yongqi and Erkang were running desperately through the alleyways. They were unfamiliar with the terrain and could only rely on their intuition to choose their direction.

"Have we shaken them off?" Er Kang asked, looking back as he ran.

"I don't know, let's find a safe place to hide first," Yongqi said.

After turning several corners in the alley, the two finally found an abandoned courtyard. They cautiously entered the courtyard and hid in a dilapidated house.

"I hope Xiao Jian is safe and sound," Yongqi said worriedly.

“Xiao Jian is highly skilled in martial arts; he will definitely be able to escape. We need to find a way to inform the Emperor of the clues we’ve found, and also find a way to locate the hideout of these mysterious people,” Er Kang said.

The two were carefully considering their next plan inside the house. Suddenly, they heard footsteps coming from outside the yard.

"Could it be those mysterious people who have caught up with us?" Yongqi gripped his sword tightly with tension.

The two held their breath, listening intently to the sounds outside. The footsteps grew closer, as if someone had entered the courtyard.

"What should we do?" Er Kang asked in a low voice.

Yongqi gestured for him to remain silent and be prepared to respond to any unexpected situations.

Just then, a familiar voice came from outside the door: "Yongqi, Erkang, are you inside?"

The two were startled; it was Liu Qing's voice.

Yongqi carefully opened the door and saw Liu Qing standing outside.

"Liu Qing, what are you doing here?" Yongqi asked in surprise.

“I heard you were investigating the remnants of the Shadow Cult, so I’ve been keeping an eye on things in the vicinity. I just saw you being chased by a group of people, so I followed you,” Liu Qing said.

“Great, you’ve come at just the right time. Xiao Jian is still fighting those mysterious people outside; we have to go rescue him,” Yongqi said.

“Don’t worry, Xiao Jian has already escaped. He sent me here to find you and tell you to go back to the palace first and tell the Emperor the clues you found,” Liu Qing said.

"That's good. Let's hurry back to the palace, we can't let the Emperor worry about us anymore," Erkang said.

The three immediately headed towards the palace. But would their investigation expose the Shadow Cult remnants' plot? How would they face the challenges ahead? Everything remained uncertain…
