Seemingly sensing Ai Haibara's thoughts, Asakawa Yu stopped speaking.

He reached out and ruffled Ai Haibara's hair. "I know what you're worried about, but didn't I tell you that as long as you do as I say, I will protect your safety?"

Although his face remained expressionless, Ai Haibara still sensed an aura of 'peace' emanating from it.

Perhaps it was Asakawa Yu's comfort that had an effect, because the Miyano sisters slowly emerged from the shadow of the organization, and their expressions became less gloomy and uneasy.

"By the way, boss, you just said you want to find a virtuous wife to live a peaceful life with. Do you have someone you like now?"

When this question was asked, not only Asakawa Yu, but even Haibara Ai standing next to him was stunned.

Seriously, my dear sister, when did you become so bold?!

After stammering out those words, Akemi Miyano clearly felt her cheeks burning, and she suddenly became somewhat uncomfortable. It was clear that she had mustered a great deal of courage to ask that question.

But Ai Haibara instantly understood her older sister's intention and began to cheer her on, "Yeah, yeah, you're not bad looking, haven't you ever thought about finding a girlfriend or anything?"

Hearing the two sisters across from her ask her that question, Asakawa Yu chuckled self-deprecatingly, "Heh, someone like me, if I really fell in love with someone, I'd probably be being irresponsible to that person..."

At first, the two sisters didn't quite understand why Asakawa Yu said that, but after thinking about it carefully, they realized why he evaluated himself that way.

Isn't that right? People who don't know Asakawa Yu might only think of him as a handsome and gentle ideal type when they first see him. But how many people can truly accept the real him hidden behind that mask?

Even the Miyano sisters, who have known him for so long, probably can't say they fully understand Asakawa Yu. So what about the rest of the people? Are you expecting them to spend their lives with someone they don't know at all?

Having spent so much time with Asakawa Yu, especially Miyano Akemi, she often sensed a subtle sense of estrangement from Asakawa Yu towards the world.

Miyano Akemi is finding it hard to describe her feelings right now, but she knows that Asakawa Yu must have his own secret, a secret that has caused him to feel no sense of belonging to this world and to everything here.

But... how could she let Asakawa Yu belittle herself like that!

“No, that’s not true!” Akemi Miyano, who had been sitting quietly listening, finally couldn’t help but speak up.

"Boss, you're not as bad as you make yourself out to be. You know, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be sitting here enjoying delicious food with Ai right now. Instead, I would be dying alone in some unknown warehouse, ending my life in a pathetic way."

"If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be able to sit here so peacefully, chatting and laughing like this. Ai would still be living in the shadow of the organization. So... please stop saying that, okay?"

Akemi Miyano placed her hands on her knees, her face showing an unwavering determination, and at the end, her eyes seemed to be brimming with tears.

It must be said that these remarks not only fully expressed her heartfelt affirmation of Asakawa Yu, but also revealed her true feelings.

Hearing her unwavering tone, Asakawa Yu admitted that he was moved for a moment.

Yes... I don't seem to be alone anymore.

The world has more people who care about him, more people who feel sad because he is hurt, and more people who will lend him a hand when he is stuck in the mud.

So... what exactly was he saying just now...?

"Feel sorry."

Ok?

Upon hearing Asakawa Yu's apology, the two sisters immediately raised their heads.

"Like you said, there are still one or two people in this world who care about me. I shouldn't dwell on those past experiences, right?"

After saying this, Asakawa Yu took out a tissue.

He reached out and wiped Miyano Akemi's face. "So, could you please, Ms. Tang Ze, give me the honor of stopping crying?"

Hearing Asakawa Yu's comical remarks and feeling the warm hands wiping away her tears, Miyano Akemi blushed instantly.

She felt a warm breath spreading across her face, all the way to her ears.

Seeing the harmonious scene before her, Ai Haibara, unusually, did not disturb them. Instead, she looked at the two of them with a maternal smile until the waiter brought over the dishes, at which point the two of them calmed down a bit.

But judging from Miyano Akemi's blushing ears, half-hidden under her long hair, she hadn't yet recovered from what she had just experienced.

And so, with Ai Haibara's teasing smile and Akemi Miyano's shy expression, the three of them slowly finished their dinner.

After packing several dinners for the doctor, the three of them got into the car and started their journey home.

"By the way, sister, can I come over and sleep with you tonight?" Ai Haibara, sitting next to Akemi Miyano, suddenly asked in the car.

"Of course you can. Why don't you just bring your clothes and take a bath with me later?" Miyano Akemi naturally wouldn't refuse when she heard that her younger sister wanted to come and sleep with her.

"Boss, it should be okay, right?"

Seemingly afraid that her boss would disagree, Miyano Akemi still tentatively asked. Of course, Miyano Akemi knew that Asakawa Yu would most likely not refuse, because Haibara Ai had previously come next door to sleep with her.

"It's up to you to decide. After all, we're just roommates. It's your freedom to invite whoever you want to stay overnight." Asakawa Yu focused on driving and didn't even turn her head.

"I certainly wouldn't invite just anyone!" As if not wanting Asakawa Yu to misunderstand anything, Miyano Akemi raised her voice slightly.

Asakawa Yu didn't reply, but Miyano Akemi knew he must have heard her.

"Pfft!"

"Ai, what are you laughing at?!"

Amidst the bickering of the Miyano sisters, the three finally returned home.

At night, the moon, as clear as a mirror, hangs in the sky, casting its silvery light upon the earth.

Asakawa Yu stood quietly on the balcony, her hands resting on the railing, her deep eyes gazing at the night sky.

Hearing the sounds of playful fighting coming from the bathroom, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

The wind blew past him, rustling as a piece of paper fell out of Asakawa Yu's pocket.

That was the fortune slip I drew during my last trip to Osaka. As the wind blew, the slip was completely spread out.
