Chapter 21

An Jiuxi snorted coldly, flicked her sleeve, formed a hand seal, and released a golden light, dispelling some of the evil aura.

This thing was even more ferocious than she had imagined. An Jiuxi had never encountered anything like it before, and she felt a little eager to try it out.

He turned and prepared to go to the seventh floor.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came from downstairs.

An Jiuxi frowned and peeked downstairs.

Then he saw Li Wu and a burly young man about the same height as him rush up.

She couldn't help but click her tongue.

Why are kids these days so disobedient?

The two of them ran up to her in the blink of an eye. Li Wu was a little out of breath because he had run so fast.

"Sister Xi, I... I've already told my classmate to go out and call the police. This... this is my classmate's distant cousin, Yuan Gang, who came to get tutoring. After I told him, he... he insisted on dragging me here to help you!"

It took Li Wu several breaths to finish speaking.

An Jiuxi glanced at him with some disdain. He was so young, yet so weak. What would become of him in the future?

Then he looked at the boy standing next to him.

He was eighteen or nineteen years old, tall and strong, probably close to 1.9 meters tall.

His skin was a healthy tan, and his features were handsome. He wore a short-sleeved T-shirt, and his biceps were bulging, indicating he exercised regularly.

He glanced at An Jiuxi, his expression cold and stern. "Miss, you've got some nerve. Promoting feudal superstition is one thing, but you actually dared to call the police? Aren't you afraid the police will come and arrest you?"

There's not a single living person in the entire building. Only an idiot would believe something so absurd.

An Jiuxi was furious that he didn't believe her.

He stared at his face for a moment, then said with a half-smile, "Whether I'm superstitious or not, we'll find out once we go up and take a look."

Yuan Gang frowned.

Before he could ask, An Jiuxi added, "So, do you have the guts to come with me?"

"What's there to be afraid of!" This provocation worked easily on the teenage boy.

Yuan Gang didn't say anything more, but instead took the lead and walked ahead.

Li Wu caught his breath and quickly followed, reminding An Jiuxi, "Sister Xixi, just stay behind us, we'll protect you."

An Jiuxi: There's absolutely no need for that!

However, they didn't stop it.

Young people these days lack the harsh realities of life.

If a child is disobedient, just scare them with a ghost.

With that thought in mind, I followed behind them with a clear conscience.

Just as the malevolent aura began to gather, he raised his hand and unleashed a golden light to disperse it.

The three of them quickly reached the seventh floor.

Surprisingly, there were only two rooms on this floor. Yuan Gang stopped at the door of the one on the left, while Li Wu stood at the door of the one on the right.

An Jiuxi stood still at the top of the stairs, watching what they planned to do.

Li Wu wanted to ask her for instructions, but before he could even speak, Yuan Gang raised his hand and knocked on the door on the left.

But after knocking for a long time, no one answered.

He couldn't help but frown. "Is he not home?"

It's a workday today, so it's understandable that I'm not home.

An Jiuxi raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you need my help?"

"They're not here, how are you going to help?" Yuan Gang suddenly shouted in a sharp tone, "What, are you trying to break in?"

By the end, his eyes had turned fierce.

Seeing that he looked like he was about to fight at the slightest provocation, Li Wu instinctively stepped in front of An Jiuxi.

"Yuan Gang, Sister Xixi didn't say anything, why are you getting angry?"

Yuan Gang glared fiercely at Li Wu, "Are you stupid? That's clearly what she meant just now!"
