After Qin Zhoumu drove Xu Xi home, he drove the car back to the garage. As soon as he entered the house, he saw his mother dozing on the sofa, so he closed the door more gently.

Qin Zhoumu carefully walked over, picked up the flannel blanket that was placed next to the sofa, and was about to cover Kang Ruoxi with it when he saw that she had woken up.

Governor Qin had no choice but to withdraw his hand, sit down next to his mother, and ask with concern, "Mom, why don't you go upstairs to sleep?"

Kang Ruoxi covered her mouth and yawned, saying, "I was just about to go to sleep when I saw your brother come back. He said you came back after you dropped off Xu Xi. I thought you must be hungry since it was so late, so I made you some pigeon soup."

"Where's Dad?"

"I have something to do at the company tonight and won't be coming back."

"Are you hungry? Mom will go get you some soup." Kang Ruoxi said, and then got up to go to the kitchen.

Seeing that she was still sleepy, Qin Zhoumu led her to the stairs and urged, "Mom, you should go to sleep. I'll go to the kitchen and get it myself."

Kang Ruoxi was indeed sleepy, so she gradually went up the stairs. Halfway up, she looked down and told Governor Qin, "Remember to eat."

Governor Qin nodded helplessly, "Understood."

Qin Zhoumu went to the kitchen, where there were two bowls of pigeon soup on the table. He opened the lids and saw that they were still steaming, so he took them upstairs.

Reaching Qin Zhouyu's door, she saw light coming through the crack. She knocked gently a few times and said, "Brother, it's me. Mom made pigeon soup. Let's eat together."

After a while, the door opened, and Qin Zhouyu stepped aside to let him in, asking, "Did you take Xu Xi home?"

"Well, it's been delivered."

Qin Zhoumu placed the plate on the table, glanced at the documents on the table, picked them up and his expression changed. "Brother, you're going to England?"

“Hmm,” Qin Zhouyu picked up a bowl of pigeon soup and saw the study abroad application form in his hand. “I was planning to tell you after the interview.”

Governor Qin frowned and asked, "Why did you suddenly decide to go to England?"

Qin Zhouyu took the paper from his hand and put it aside. He then picked up another bowl of pigeon soup and placed it in his hand, saying, "The music program at that institution is highly regarded and will be helpful to my studies."

His answer displeased Governor Qin, "But the university you're attending now is just as good as this one in England, so why do you insist on going to England?"

"There's nothing wrong with going out more often."

Governor Qin scratched his head in frustration and said unhappily, "Is it really necessary to be gone for a whole year?"

Qin Zhouyu put the stew pot back in its original place and replied, "I will probably stay there after I finish my studies in England."

Governor Qin looked at him in disbelief.

As Qin Zhouyu sat down on the bed, he said, "My mother moved her company headquarters from Germany to England last year. After I finish my studies there, I will go directly to her place."

"Have you really decided?"

"Ah."

Qin Zhoumu, seething with anger, demanded, "What about the Qin family's company? What about Dad?"

Qin Zhouyu pondered for a moment and replied, "Dad isn't going to retire anytime soon. You're very smart, and I believe you'll quickly learn how to handle company affairs after you graduate from university. Dad and Aunt Kang have always doted on you, and you love them too. You'll take good care of them."

"Where is Sister Liang Qing?" Qin Zhoumu's hand, which was holding the stew pot, gradually turned red, but he still held on tightly. "What about Sister Liang Qing? What will happen to her?"

Qin Zhouyu sat on the bed and thought for a long time before saying, "She is as smart as you. She will take good care of herself, and Song Zhiji will take good care of her too."

Qin Zhoumu slammed the stew pot down on the table and sneered, "You've thought of everything. Give me the company, give me my parents, and give Liang Qing to Song Zhiji."

He became more and more agitated as he spoke, his voice growing louder and louder, "You don't want anything, you're willing to give up everything, you don't care about anything!"

Qin Zhouyu got up and closed the door, then turned back to persuade Qin Zhoumu, "Calm down, don't wake Aunt Kang up."

"Do you still care about this?" Governor Qin sneered. "Aren't you just concerned with your own pleasure?"

I hope you can respect my decision.

Governor Qin was furious. He roared, "I don't respect you, I don't accept this. If you still care about me as your brother, and if you still care about this family, then don't go."

Qin Zhouyu said expressionlessly, "You know my temper. Whether you accept it or not, I'm going."

He walked back to the bedside and said to Governor Qin, "I'm going to sleep now. You should go back to sleep early too. Everyone is tired today."

His calm and composed demeanor completely enraged Governor Qin. He walked over, dragged him off the bed, and angrily demanded, "Do you even consider me your brother? Do you consider this your home?"

Qin Zhouyu was pulled by the collar, but instead of getting angry, he calmly pried Qin Zhoumu's hand away, saying, "You are my brother, and that is an undeniable fact in terms of blood ties."

"I didn't ask you that, I asked what you really think!"

"Does it matter what I think?" Qin Zhouyu's eyes were as still as stagnant water.

“Of course it’s important to me.”

“Important,” Qin Zhouyu repeated, then suddenly laughed and scoffed, “Important? Important my ass! Let me tell you, my words carry absolutely no weight in this family. If they were really as important as you say…”

He looked into Qin Zhoumu's eyes and spoke words as cruel as a demon: "You would never exist in this world."

Governor Qin was struck dumb, and uncontrollably took two steps back. He simply couldn't believe that these words came from Qin Zhouyu's mouth. "What do you mean by that?"

His words actually implied that Qin Zhouyu should take back what he said. Qin Zhouyu understood, but he did not intend to explain.

He stood in the same spot, his gaze towards Qin Zhoumu colder than ever before. "Don't you understand? I'm saying, if my words mattered, your mother wouldn't have even stepped foot in this house."

Qin Zhoumu's eyes reddened, and his voice trembled, "For so many years, my mother has treated you and me equally, even better to you than to me. How could you say such a thing?"

Qin Zhouyu's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Didn't you insist on knowing what I was thinking? Why can't you stand it now that you know?"

“I don’t believe it,” Governor Qin stepped forward again, grabbed his collar, and said through gritted teeth, “I don’t believe this is your true thought. Tell me the truth.”

Qin Zhouyu lost his patience and roughly shoved Qin Zhoumu away, causing Qin Zhoumu to lose his balance and fall to the ground.

He quickly sat up from the ground, looking up as if to interrogate Qin Zhouyu, but saw him looking down at him with an expression full of disgust. "Whether you believe it or not is your business. Now, get out."
